Hey Everybody,

I'm a newbie to the site, but I'm loving the content thus far. I decided I would go ahead and post my swing to see what kind of feedback y'all had.

I've been shooting in the mid to high 80's recently but trying to drop a few strokes and break 80 before the year is over.

I've been Playing Golf for: 5 years
My current handicap index or average score is: Mid 80's
My typical ball flight is: High Slight Fade
The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Slice with drive or pull with my irons

Videos:

Thanks,

Jonathan

Welcome to the site @Jbrook. I'd recommend working on the hip turn. Making sure the hips turn in place and don't sway back.

Would also recommend you only post videos where you are hitting a ball, give us a better idea of what is really going on.

Thanks Mike for the advice. I'll work on that at the range this week and taking some videos hitting balls.

Thanks,

Jonathan

Swinging without a ball falsely gives you more time because the ball doesn't come up on you when you've failed to get your weight forward and hips turned early enough. At the top, pause your left arm as you allow your weight to drift forward which will allow your hips to turn. As you feel your weight approaching your left side with your right knee approaching your left than swing away. Your should feel powerful as your lower body will be in a position of great leverage. You won't have to fake that finish anymore. Toughest thing will be to retrain your natural instinct of uncloiling to a weight shift hip turn swing motion.

    • Thanks! Better though? Not worried about overdoing it yet. These were also the best videos of several I took. More to be done for sure but moving in the right direction I think.
    • Can be out and up a little more. Not quite over-done yet.
    • Down the line and face on from today. Still feeling like I’m sticking the club into a hole in the ceiling above my right shoulder and then big loop inside to start downswing. That’s how it feels. Not how it looks though! Gotta keep working on this for a bit but I see a lot of progress. 😁
    • Day 5 (13 Mar 26) - Friday shootout cancelled- made it a practice round working from mixed tees. Plenty of up and down work around greens.  Best was a hole out birdie on the par 3 #5 hole - nice pitch and roll w/Pw from about 10yds off the green - dead center flagstick drop.  Much of round was focused on getting solid weight shift into lead foot.
    • Day 208 3-13 Worked on wrist arching and flow. First time hitting reall balls at a range in months. It was nice to see ball flight. Still not sure it beats my backyard practice station.
