I currently use Ping G15's.  I am starting to look around at other irons.  Not sure how much technology has changed from these clubs to more current ones, but I am looking to increase my distance.   I have grown a liking to Titelist AP1 716, Callaway XR and Mizuno JPX 850's.  My handicap is around 16.  Anyone made a similar change in irons ?

An old reviews describes the Ping G15 as a very forgiving lower-lofted, high launching iron. The lower loft was built in to increase distance. The only knock was that the head was clunky.

So, be a scientist on this one. Decide which of the new clubs mentioned you like best, and then do a side-by-side test on launch monitor comparing it to the G15. Compare 5 irons and 8 irons. Does the newer iron increase your distance? Does the newer iron give you more reliable contact than the G15s?

Note: don't forget to try some different shafts in the new irons.

Focus, connect and follow through!
