Hi all I'm just looking for your opinions on a suitable driver (the cheaper the better) for my dad he has a fairly slow swing and struggles to consistantly get the ball above 15 ft.He is currently using my old 9.5 deg stiff shaft ignite and i think its time for an upgrade so i would appreciat any input thanks.

The more I practise the luckier I get!

Since everyone's going to (rightly) say it, I will too: get him fit for a driver.

If you don't go that route, at least consider the shaft: maybe a low kick point would help? Also, going to a 10.5 (or even 12) degree driver might be a good move. Now that the L4V is out, the "old" model Cobras should be on sale. Slow swing and a stiff shafts is a bad combination. How often does he hit it right of target? Regular (or perhaps senior; I don't know how old he is) shafts will do the trick nicely.

cheers shindig erm he hits the ball mostly straight but as i said very low and its killing his distance so the shaft is a priority thanks a mill

Try the cobra M speed series. They have light, low kickpoint shafts, good lofts, and they are very forgiving.

read an article recently in a golf mag, cant remember which one, it was by the head clubfitter at the national golf centre at the belfry

he said that 9 out of 10 golfers who currently use drivers in single figure lofts would benefit by going to 10 or higher
