Tee Height vs Ball Placement

These have been covered in great detail before, so I will be brief.

I note that lately a lot of impact marks on driver show hits near top of the face. Impact seemed okay none-the-less.

Raising the tee height did not show significant difference, nor did lowering tee height.

Although I know that with today's 460cc drivers it is suggested your ball placement be more off lead toe rather than the instep,  I ended up placing ball opposite leading edge of lead foot or even a little beyond and was rewarded with very consistent and repeatable center face strikes. It felt strange, but the results were undeniable. The question is will this last?  Time will tell. (so will range time).

People who hit the top of their driver are often hitting down with the driver.

If my tee is high, I have a tendecy to hit the bottom face of the driver.  Does that mean my driver is going too UP? Caused by standing up too soon?

      I appreciate that you have taken the time to come back and update. Based on what was previously discussed I feel like the points were; forged, feel good, price, and possibly players distance. If you like the "looks" of those Maxfli irons and if price is a major point, then going straight to the source, Maltby, might make sense. Specifically, the TS3 iron. I was looking into this myself and found some reviews: Fit2YouGolf, Lets Play Thru, and ELITE FIT GOLF. As per your update I found the Maxfli to be ~$1300 fitted the way I wanted. Where the TS3 with the same fitting and assembled by Golfworks was less than $750. I suppose the downside is to actually hit the iron you will need to get lucky and find someone in your golf circle who will let you hit theirs or order a 6 or 7 iron to test. However, the way I look at that is being equivalent to some fittings. If you like the results and buy, then the fitting is free, otherwise the price of the fitting is a sunk cost. If name brand is important, then I submit for your consideration - THE BEST OVERALL IRON of 2024...... FACT !! 😉 A bit tongue in cheek that but also, I feel some good points were discussed.

      Day 467 - 2026-01-10 Practiced at Pinehurst every day I was there, and before Junior Elite this morning I got fifteen minutes of backswing checks in the mirror in.
