I'm looking to add a few more courses to my 2008 list of courses in my area that I want to play this year. I live just east of Tampa and I'm looking for public courses that are about an hour's drive. I started my list with the courses suggested in the "Orlando Golf trip" thread by cemeb4dk.

So far I have the following on my list:
Palisades
Orange County National
Champions Gate
Southern Dunes
Falcon Fire

Considering:
Mangrove Bay
TPC Tampa Bay
Innisbrook
Black Bear Reserve

Already played:
World Woods (Pine Barrens and Rolling Oaks)
All Disney Courses
Diamond Back

Any other suggestions or reviews would be much appreciated.

In my bag:

Driver: r7 460 9.5° Stiff
3 Wood: r7 Draw
5 Wood: r7 Draw Irons 4-AW: r7 CGB Wedge: rac Satin 54° Wedge: rac Satin 60° Putter: Daytona Sport 1 34" Ball: DT solo or NXT

As you know, the PGA Tour plays Copperhead @ Innisbrook.

I've played the Island course @ Innisbrook 3 times. There are a couple of goofy holes, but it's a very good golf course.

I've read some good things about El Diablo (up near World Woods).

bloomingdale is fine - a couple of holes have been cart path only lately - but other than that all is good

    • Day 51 (yesterday was 50, not 59 -- that was a typo).  I didn't have a ton of time today.  I hit a dozen balls with a 6-iron in my practice room.   Amazingly, after this I did the ShotScope analysis of yesterday's round;  my approach play was at the 5 hcp level.  That's pretty darn good, but unfortunately for my score, some of that came from hitting a few good recovery shots.  But I also hit some really good approach shots that weren't from trouble!

    • Day 295 6-26 Low point control with towel again. Getting better but not swinging fast enough tonight.
    • Shot a 37 today! Palmer Course, PGA National. Really fun. 6/9 GIR, no lost balls. The double and the bogey were both three putts from like 35 feet or so.  The birdie at the last was really fun. I stood over that fifteen footer and thought wow I’m really about to make this, aren’t I? And I hearted it. Really fun. It’s like 9000 degrees outside but I battled through it well. Good times.
    • I had been in a bit of a slump for the month of June. Handicap index has slowly risen, and there were few sub-80 scores. Today was a different story at Leslie Park GC. Lots of solid shots, GIR's, up & downs, for a 77 (7.8 differential). As with most rounds, there were a few loose shots and crappy putts, but it was a good day.
