Day 333 - 2025-08-29

Went downtown for about five hours this morning. Only swung for about two of them, maybe a bit less. Got a lot of other little bits of work done. Back to the "throw the back of the club at the ground" from a few years ago.

Erik J. Barzeski —  I knock a ball. It goes in a gopher hole. 🏌🏼‍♂️

Day 16 8-30

Went to the range today. It was nice hitting off some grass and actually seeing ball flight. Worked on backswing length and correct hip movement(hips not going towards ball in backswing). Recorded swings from dtl angle.

Day 334 - 2025-08-30

Got a little work in downtown before lessons (not much), then played 9 holes with my "everything old is new again" swing thought. Hit a lot of good ones. Which feels stupid. 😄

Missed yesterday’s posting so we start again…

Day 1 (30 Aug 25) - Long day so no time for outside work.  Opted to make it a mirror work session - focused on weight shift and coming smoothly into and thru the downswing.  Was good to just slowly work thru the swing process.

Day 1: 8/31/25

Practiced chipping and made 6 tonight using three balls to each hole. By far, my best. That said, I still don’t own the Mayo method, but it could be due to lack of playing time. Hit several heavy tonight.

Day 17 8-31

Did two separate practice sessions with a net in the backyard. Worked on shorter backswing and getting hips to move better in backswing.

The OP says a streak still counts if you miss only 2 of the last 28 days (four weeks), you know.

Thanks for the reminder Erik - for some reason I’ve always “interpreted” that the “missed” days only started “after” you had done 28 days straight.  TBH - I actually hate missing any days, not that I’m obsessed or anything.  These short drills are part of my personal daily get out and about routines….

Day 336 - 2025-09-01

Hit 13 balls in honor of Taylor Swift. Baker's dozen. No sourdough for me though. Screw the Chiefs and their culturally insensitive "chop" cheer. Took my time, lots of rehearsals.

Day 3 (1 Sep 25) - Easy afternoon front nine with grandson from “his” tees (the most fwd set - around 2500 yds).  Stripped down the bag to 5-6-7 irons, 50-54-58 wedges and putter.  IMG_9044.thumb.jpeg.a79ba3a54416cc0c2e6f8163993691b3.jpegGoal - focus on mid-irons and green side wedge play. Shot a stress free 39 as the wedge play was leaving me 4’ or less for tap in pars, bogie at worst.  Grandson was solidly along side the entire way…best part - just watching him continue to develop as a player, confident in his club choices and taking responsibility for the outcomes….

Day 337 - 2025-09-02

26 balls today. Two batches of 13. Same old stuff, though today was a bit more of a "learn to hit from a screwy (feeling) P6" than P4 to P7.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
    • I have access to far more data (including surveys and polls) than you do with your anecdotes. I mean this as plainly and literally as possible: you’ve demonstrated that you do not. They would, one way or the other.
