I bought the X10. After about 2 weeks, my X10 also lost the speed numbers. Seems to be a common problem. But, it's made in China ...

The seller sent a new one and told me to keep the old one. Going into the 3rd week with the replacement and it's still working. So far, have improved my speed from 70 to 90. It's a matter of learning technique (lag). So, taking my new swing to the course in a few minutes!

I found this site looking for others that had the same problem, and yes, I do too.  Seeing the X10 on the Golf Channel and Peter Kostis endorsing it made me want to give it a try.  First swing I was only 82. By the next day I was hitting 92 regularly.  But I couldn't seem to get past the 2 on the settings.  On the third day, I hit the ground when I was swinging it left handed and the shell for the electronics just exploded.

I contacted Supersoic and Golf Tailor sent me another one. While I was waiting, I could still use the trainer even though the shell was broken.  Right after my new one got here, I was hitting 102.  Not bad for a 63 year old who had rotator cuff surgery 5 months ago. But then, my first one completely fell apart.  No problem, I had just got my new one.

The new one was better in that the slider would break free all the way up to 6 during my good swings. But on the same day I put the new one into use, same problem.  I realize I was catching the ground with it, but i didn't think it was that hard.  Plus, you start to really whip it hard to get the feedback from the higher numbers.

I am giving up on this until they make the changes that I have recommended. They need to shorten the shaft about 3 inches, and they should add a coil spring on the end to make up the difference.  The coil spring would allow you to see your swing path on the ground without actually hitting the ground and damaging the trainer.

If they do shorten it, I would buy it again. But in the meantime, I just threw away $120 for two shafts that I can only use for checking my alignment.
