Its that good simply put. It is long and forgiving, yet I have no trouble fitting a small fade or draw into teh fairway if needed. It is quit easily the best driver I have ever hit. Get fitted though, it makes a world of difference.

I just bought one a few weeks ago. i used it for the first time on the course right before they shut the course for the winter. i really like the club a lot. the look at address is a very classic look in my opinion. the distance i am getting is great. The forgiveness is very good also. only thing that i would say i dont like is the sound is a little muted for my taste.

Also i have read that TM is going to be discontinuing the driver. and that the prices are going to drop. if it is true dont buy it yet. i purchased mine at full price. which did not make me the happiest. i guess time will tell if the price really does drop.

My previous driver was r7 460 and I'm currently using r7 SuperQuad both in 10.5deg. Between those two, SuperQuad is longer and straighter. While r7 460 gave me (a lot) higher trajectory and nicer impact sound.

I agree completely with this statement. Best driver I have ever hit as well. Plenty of opportunity to work the ball. Definitely recommend.

i picked one up in the pro-shop last weekend - thought it was lovely looking (sitting next to my R7 425). He had one on demo thought it had a regular shaft.

I'm interested in upgrading - and tried the auto-fitter on the TaylorMade Website. It suggested i use the TP version - but it seems that they are open at address. I did like to look of the normal model i picked up - it had a slightly closed face.

Wondering has anoyne any experience with the TP?

I've been using the SuperQuad for about a year now. Switched to it from the 425. Excellent choice in my opinion. I love it and haven't looked back!

Great driver. Crisp feel, great sound (unlike the Nike and Callaways). Best distance off the club face. Adjustable screws to help me lower my trajectory and get the club face around at impact to promote a square position.

Go for the club head and get custom fitted for the shaft.

Yes, I have the TP Superquad 9.5 but with a 2007 Fuji 6X07 Rombax shaft. It's a few points softer than the stock Rombax. My SS averages 110.

I had to have the open version to allow me to hit the fade although my normal tee shot is a slight draw. The weights are in the neutral setting. I don't see myself switching clubheads for awhile. I may experiment with other shafts though as I'd like to get a softer feeling. You have to load this shaft good or it'll be harsh at impact. Yes, I can bomb it.

    • Over the past 15 years, the winning score has ranged from -10 to -20. Mostly around -13.  Here is Thursday and Friday weather. Saturday and Sunday weather. I think the course will play soft. Plenty of sky cover, lots of rain on Thursday. Fairways and greens will probably stay soft throughout the week.  In terms of tee times, I think Thursday morning and Friday afternoon have the biggest advantage. I bolded the big group of each set.  Most beneficial with the weather Round 1: No. 1 tee, Round 2: No. 10 tee 7:40 a.m., 12:30 p.m.: Mark Hubbard, Thorbjørn Olesen, Mac Meissner 7:52 a.m., 12:42 p.m.: Bud Cauley, Vince Whaley, Chandler Phillips 8:04 a.m., 12:54 p.m.: Emiliano Grillo, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Max Greyserman 8:16 a.m., 1:06 p.m.: Kevin Yu, Cam Davis, Gary Woodland 8:28 a.m., 1:18 p.m.: Ricky Castillo, Ryan Gerard, Patrick Cantlay 8:40 a.m., 1:30 p.m.: Adam Schenk, Garrick Higgo, Matt McCarty 8:52 a.m., 1:42 p.m.: Brian Harman, Maverick McNealy, Davis Riley 9:04 a.m., 1:54 p.m.: Sami Valimaki, Lucas Glover, Matt Fitzpatrick 9:16 a.m., 2:06 p.m.: Michael Brennan, Harris English, J.T. • We have a very difficult but mostly showy course this week. Lets see what they got. This course offers so many chances to get into trouble it is really a mental minefield. I am excited to see who can handle it and who cant. Last year we got a foreshadowing of JJ and Rory, I am excited for this year Who do people have winning? what will the winning score be? I am thinking 12 or 13 under
