As you all probably know... I play TechPower's ZX-20 Irons (2-PW)

I hit this irons very well but I'd like a little more workability... Any suggestions of anything that is for a scratch player like myself... a good set of irons... that I can get a 2-iron with...

also looking for wedges... with a little bit of workability... (I've got $4000 saved for this so don't be shy)

I highly recommend the Mizuno MP-30's
They are a very deep club (longer than most cavity backs i've hit) and are extremely workable.
I got them less than a month ago and my handicap has already dropped 2 strokes.

For irons I would suggest Titleist 735 CM's, they are combos, blades in the lower irons, cavities in the longer ones, and they are forged...AND they are Titleist

Here's what I play:

Why don't you look at a set of Honma Beres TW902 Blade or a set of Miuraism Custom Forged SB-01 or 02? You can also look at any of the Mizuno blade series. Take a look at my sig.

Everything I've read and hear about these clubs has everything you're looking for. You can order them from three places in NY: Novogolf: Tappan, NY, Pete's Golf Pro Shop on Long Island and the Complete Golfer in White Plains.

You can get the heads and customize your shafts at any of the above places. They will make any alterations you may need.

the scratch and plus golfers i know use Titleist blades, Mizuno 30, 57, 67, Miura blades, Bridgestone blades and some more forgiving irons.

I'm not in a position to use these clubs but some of these guys are the top am's in the county - when you see a 2-iron blade hit 210 into the wind to 10 feet - well it's pretty impressive.

If I had 4000 for a set of irons and wedges my oppinion would be a set of miura tournamet blades in my oppinion the best blades out there expensive but if you have the money that would be my choice as for wedges i ould suggest vokey's there very proven. If you dont want to go the miura way the irons I have now I love titleist 695 mb's great workability and control my favorite titleist clubs.

funny. i JUST bought a set from my friend today. there's still snow covering most of the courses and driving ranges so I can't wait to hit them.. hope they're as good for me as they are for you

      Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.

      As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
