That is very Northwest. I best you don't get a lot of winter golf in up in Alaska. If you come to Seattle I can definitely recommend some courses. I have also heard that Pumpkin Ridge in the Portland area is a great course although I have never personally played it.

Ok, I'll definitely ask for some suggestions, and no we don't get much golf. It's actually not that bad in the winter, because we have an indoor driving range, but I live 5 minutes from my home course, and everytime I go to my soccer practices we driver right by it, and I look right, see the course covered in 6 feet of snow and get really bummed

Here's what I play:

Titleist 907 D2 10.5* UST ProForce V2 76-S | Titleist 906F4 18.5* Aldila VS Proto "By You" 80-S | Titleist 585H 21* Aldila VS Proto "By You" 80-S | Titleist ZB 4-PW TTDG S300 | Bob Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can 54.10 | Bob Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can 60.08 | Scotty Cameron Red X5 33" |

Gold Mountain (Bremerton, WA)

Shuksan (Bellingham, WA) - Lots of interest, beautiful setting, elevation changes. Kayak Point (Stanwood, WA) - Beautiful setting. Links and the Woodlands at Hawks Prairie (Lacey, WA) Avalon Golf (Burlington, WA) - just don't play it in the winter because rain turns it to soup.

I'm in the Bothell area. Would love to connect and play a round with any of you fellows.

My favorite course up here is Chambers Bay, hands down. That place is amazing.

I rotate between Legion Memorial, Nile GC, Willow's Run and Walter Hall mostly because of their proximity to my place. I need to get over and play West Seattle - I hear it's a pretty decent track.

West Seattle is not to bad for a public muni. It does get very crowded, I advise you to be one of the first times in the monring if you want to play at your own pace, don't even think about playing twilight. The back side is much better than the front side.

Looks like we will need to schedule a Puget Sound Golf get together!

BTW - I am assuming when y'all say Gold Mountain you are referring to the Olympic Course.

I play in a scramble there every year. The Olympic course is outstanding.

Mostly public and mostly very affordable, because I ain't spending a lot of $ on fancy courses till my game warrants it:

Tokatee - Blue River, OR on the Mackenzie River - absolutely beautiful!
http://www.tokatee.com/index2.html

Diamond Woods - Monroe, OR - one of my favorites!
http://www.diamondwoods.com/golf/pro...rse/course.htm

Lost Tracks - Bend, OR - probably one of the fancier courses I've played, they have an island par three with an old railroad car as the bridge - I played twilight rate in the summer with a great discount.
http://www.losttracks.com/

Trysting Tree - Corvallis, OR - my 'home' course, I guess...
http://www.trystingtree.com/

Eagle Crest Resort Course - Bend, OR - another fairly fancy course, some beautiful terrain and challenging golf. There are two other course that I have not played at this resort.

I haven't played a lot of golf in Oregon, just at The Reserve outside of Portland. However, I have heard that there are some great courses in Bend, and of course I would love to play out at Bandon.

Oh man if you have the $ and/or the connections there are some out of this world courses to play golf in Bend area.

I have a dream to play this place: http://www.pronghornclub.com/ then there are the Sunriver courses, Widgi, Broken Top, River's Edge, Crooked River Ranch, Aspen Lakes, Black Butte Ranch, Kah-Nee-Ta and more. Yeah, The Bend area has a disgusting amount of amazing golf courses. More realistically I will play here soon (vote one of the best new public courses by golf mag last year): http://www.junipergolf.com/Golf/

Quick question, what is the weather like say...in-between March 9th and 15th for golf?

It could be nice, or it might be wet. The PNW rule is that if you can't see the mountain its raining, if you can its gonna rain!

Like Alaska (I lived in the rain capitol of the universe - Ketchikan) the PNW can be pretty wet at times. It'll depend on the week. Things gotta lighten up soon though.

A great long weekend in Central Oregon is to play Friday afternoon at Tokatee in Blue River. It is just out of Eugene on the way to Bend. Saturday morning Quail Run in LaPine then Juniper in Redmond in the afternoon. Get up early Sunday to play Aspen Lakes in Sisters and then finish it off with Glaze Meadows at Black Butte. You can not find 5 nicer places to play that are all so close together that gives you such variation of golf.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
