I'm a younger golfer and I typically carry the ball around 265ish. Me and a couple of guys were playing 18 holes and I hit a solid drive but it sounded weird.... As the round progessed my accuracy and didstance worsened and I noticed 2 small cracks at the base of the shaft could this be the reason why or am I just horrible at golf?

Cracks in a shaft, be it irons or woods; is never a good thing, especially on a driver. I would have it re-shafted quickly before I used it again. Is it a new club, i.e., still under warranty? If so I would bring it back to the store, they should re-shaft it under the warranty. If you're driving it 265 yards that means you have a good swing speed, (unlike us older guys), and a crack will definitely impact your drive.
