If one of them happens to be a kombi -s 35" I would be happy to help ease your pain by acquiring it from you at a fair price. B-)

I just chalk it up to experience. You gotta figure out what works for you. In store demos or demo days only go so far. Sometimes it takes going out using it for awhile to figure it out. To me it is all part of the fun. You win some and you loose some .

Regret is a pretty strong emotion and not one I can equate to buying golf equipment. But I know what you are getting at and yes I have bought clubs that don't end up working out the way I had hoped. My TM #4 Raylor come to mind. I could just never get used to the visual imiage of the bottom of it and therefore I never got used to it. The club works great in the rough but I rarely used it from the fairway , making it of limited value to me. I ended up giving it to my kid and he loves it.

this thread will be more fun with pics me thinks. that and I figured taylor would think i am cool.... hehehe

Legitimate as in legal for play during a sanctioned event ? I doubt any of the major companies even make a club that is not legitimate in sanctioned events. My buddy plays the clevland niblick chipper and he loves it. I tried it once and it was ok. I can see the attraction to using it but I prefer to use my existing clubs for chipping. Typically a 8 iron for bump and run. I say, if you like it play it. Who cares what others think. You are playing the game for your own enjoyment.

Keep GPS or get rangefinder

Ditto.... Regardless of which gadget you wanted or think you need. Your girl friend, partner, somebody who cares for you spent the time and energy to get you a gift. Appreciate it. If you feel you need a specific device, go buy it yourself but never let her know that you don't appereciate the gift you got ,call me old fashion but to me that is just rude. -
I bought mine for the fashion , black with white accents, got the head covers to match. Hey it matches my shoes. Lmao.

Do you match name brands in your bag?
Camo replied to jmanbooyaa's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I don't match companies, I match country of origin......lol See sig ..... But I am on a quest to change that and buy a USA putter. -
Burner Superfast 2.0, R11, Superfast 2.0 hybrids
Camo replied to relentlesswhitey's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
What do you mean your friends got a r11 ? They got to demo swing the r11 or they jumped the rep in the back alley and now have in their possession a unreleased to the public r11 driver ? -
It definitely has that "go in the hole" look. Lol Don't see deep milling listed on the option list on the custom shop Portion of the website. I wonder if that finish was only offered on select putters. Ummmm. I could always chuck it up in my own mill and do it myself.... That would send the purist into fits I am sure. Lol

on the whole mulligan issue. i want to add, when we have a rank beginner in our group we make them play best ball off the tee. we always give them their turn of course, but in an effort to not cause slow play rather then let them hit their second shot from 75 yards off the tee we have them pick up and play off the best ball... just keeps things moving along for everybody. it is how my dad taught me 30 years ago and it is how i play today when we have a newb in the group.

If i am playing in front of you would you prefer if when i hit a huge slice I go ahead and get in my cart and travel 225 yards down the fairway and then spend my allotted 5 minutes looking for my ball before I turn around and head back to the tee box to play a second ball ? or knowing that first slice is most likely a goner should I play my provisional ball immediately ? mulligans are no more then a provisional ball that i "forget" to mark on my score card . LMAO if everybody played strictly by the rules and spent 5 minutes looking for their ball before heading back to the place it was hit from it would add a huge amount of time.... I contend that the mulligan is a time saver when used sparingly. just my opinion

How have I missed that Lumpys...dang. it is like 3 blocks away from their house in La Quinta. sweet ... thanks for the 411

for reference here is what I would consider a nicely done milling pattern. and for the record, I am a hobbyist machinist and have my own bridgeport mill.

WOW...to say those guys are enthusiastic about sc putters is an understatement ... holly smokes !!!! I am not looking to join a cult. LOL just wanting a quality made in the USA product led me to the Scotty line. but thanks for the heads up on that site.... one thing I have a question about is the face milling. The one I have been eyeballing in the store has a beautiful symmetrical milling pattern on the face. I was browsing around on cameron collector and I see a thread about this guys putter and everybody is raving about it. first thing I noticed is the very sloppy face mill pattern. can somebody here explain to me why they would intentionally mill a sloppy and random face pattern ?

I have decided that the Kombi -s is my next purchase. I have been sampling it every time i visit Golf Galaxy and it has grown on me. But I have a hang up with buying a finely crafted item from a big box retailer. Just seems to me that it should be purchased from a mom and pop boutique retailer. the trouble is, I can't find one in my area. I am going to visit my folks in Palm Springs for New Years and plan to visit a few SC authorized shops down there. anyhow, just curious where you bought your Scotty from and if I am the only one who has the same hang up with Big Box retailers.

USA, Natalie gulbis, why ? Cause she is hot...duh USA, John daly, cause he isn't boring. Euro, .... Don't know any..... Lol

I buy plenty of stuff from them including my last set of clubs, but I do not participate in their club card. 3% coupon does not earn my loyalty and I actually find it insulting. Good customer service earns my business and they treat me right. Most of the guys in there know me but I typically only work with their pro who also works with my kid on the high school golf team.

also not reflected in that data is the rest of the year. I wonder what the High end of the scale is or even the averages. but 55,000 daily viewers. I don't see how they could possible survive on those numbers. FYIY... TGC is pretty much always on in my house. Not that I sit down and watch it very often but it is on as background noise. for some reason I enjoy the Hannny project the most and actually DVR it.

" But Golf Channel’s viewership, particularly out of season, has been low. In November, the channel ranked 78th of 90 cable networks in total-day viewership, averaging 55,000 viewers on a 24-hour basis. Of sports channels, only Fox Soccer, MLB Network and NBA TV ranked lower. " WOW, that quote is pretty telling. TGC is out of their gord asking for more money when DTV is already in the process of eliminating channels that don't have the eyeballs.

Best iPhone Golf GPS App?
Camo replied to Tenacious Deek's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
If you have another apple device check out the "find iPhone" app.. It uses google maps and will show the location of your iPhone. My wife car was stolen and lucklynher iPad was in it. Using the "find iPhone" app we were aple to tell the highway patrol over the phone the location of her stolen car and they caughtbthe guys in less then 15 minutes. Handy for when you loose your phone on the course also I would imagine. As far as using the golf shot app before the round. Because it is more convenient and providers more relevant information then say google earth or google maps. Once you get to a new course you can buy the course guide from the pro shop, but with golf shot I can check out the course on the plane, airport, hotel or on the way there. As far as risk damaging the iPad during travel .... Mine has been around the world and then some. No damage to report yet. -
My wife has been playing for a few years and we golf at least 2 rounds a month together ( live on a private course ) She has a set of very old hand me downs , no name blade style steel shaft ..... Junk I was in golf galaxy and the have a smoking deal on a set of womens graphite shaft taylor made burner plus with a 3 and 4 hybrid for $399. The online price for the set is $799 and the same set in mens is $699 The burner plus and burner hybrid club heads are the same as the mens, the difference is the womens flex shaft which I think would benefit her. My concern with getting her this set without being fit is the shaft lengths. She is 5' 10" If anybody has any experience with fitting womens clubs, I would appreciate the advise. Is it worth the $400 gamble that they are the correct length ? Or do you think she would be better off in a mens length ? For comparison, the womens 6i is 37" and the mens is 37 3/4" in the Taylor Made Burner Plus clubs.
