  1. Out standing reply Joe! I am privilege to be close to a past winner's family of the US am and a past #1 ranked amateur golfer in the world. This kid has every possible advantage in the world. He went to the am 4 times before finally winning. He is now playing in Europe on challenge tour. These two kids who just finished 1&2 this year will probably never be seen again. Look where they came from. They barely made it in. This is the problem with match play someone gets hot and the big dogs fall. No past history of wins just qualifying and winning. I don't mean to take anything from these kids but will they be seen again in golf?
  2. Yes folks that is how I feel. I play to a 11 handicap and most of the fellas play18 and up. They will take it all day long. I will not be talking to much in the club house about the mini Eagle. Thanks
  3. OK here are the stats on the hole. Blue 508/white 482/gold 360. It's a blind big up hill drive then over a creek to a raised green. Thanks for all the replies! I will take the eagle and hopefully it will grow into a big eagle someday. Oh yea Buckeye nut you are tuff on the eagle rookie. Bet you don't give many putts!
  4. I play in Tuesday night league. We rotate from the back blue tees to the white tees the next week then down to the gold tees. I scored an eagle from the gold tees so is it worth anything? Three good shots 1 ft from the pin on the second shot but definitely not the same distance as from the back tees I have never been on in 2 from the blues.
  5. My first reaction is what a waste of a free ride through college. But does anyone know Bud Cawley from Alabama? Jumped on tour and made the grade on the money list. Then again you have the big three from the cowboys at Oklahoma Tway,Hoffman and Uihlein and they are floundering in obscurity. Yes they are great players but it takes big nads to hang up there. Obviously Fowler is the best example but Cantalys not my kid and I wish him the best of luck.
  6. Jonathan, I am a titleist guy I went from a set of Cobra irons to the original AP1's. This set cannot be more than $200 used on line or at a good golf club, a turn in set or even a demo set. They are very forgiving. You won't be able to work the ball or any of that fancy stuff but they are fun to play with. Just when you thought you have hit the worst shot of your life these clubs will guide that ball on a straight line not a pretty shot but the ball will get to where you want it to go. Good Luck! Remember lessons are more important than the sticks at the beginning look for a good teaching pro.
  7. Makers Mark or Crown Royal over crushed ice!
  8. Take a guess. When you work at a golf club that some of the top men at Achushnet golf i.e. Titleist,Foot Joy belong what do you expect a guy to play. I also do side work for them and get paid in equipment. 3 dozen prov's at Xmas doesn't hurt either. If you had any inclination of how passionate this company is about golf many of you might loose the hate for this company. Every worker top down is totally committed to this company and golf. Besides the equipment is great.
  9. Hit a driver, a flock of birds up at the ladies tee took off and pow I hit one of the birds. It was comical such a cloud of feathers. He didn't feel a thing!
  10. I work at a private course one of the perks is free golf and I love to sneek out a few times a week and play 4,6 maybe 9 holes. Its very relaxing and you can get in some good practice. Throw in a good cigar and you feel like one of the big dogs!
  11. 10 because all kids who golf are worth it! Espcially the little guys. Nice form is he goinf for the stack and tilt?
  12. welcome. I am from ma also. hr is lanesboro. weymouth is our town
  13. I don't know the callaway clubs but the AP1's are great . Skip the 4&5 irons get hybrids they are so easy to hit at your level you will enjoy the game a bit more. I would also save the money on the Vokey 52* and get the AP gap wedge. Good luck!
  14. this is a great example of simple pressure and a lot of fun. Go to a range with a friend, Both of you hit shots to a flag with out knowing what the other is doing. You will both probably hit the area frequently, no pressure. Now get together and call your shots I bet neither of you can now hit the flagged area. When you are done at the range hit the putting green I guarantee you will have the same results. Lay some big coin on the show maybe a buck a hole. Have fun it works!
  15. You are right on. I just came home from 6 days at innisbrook. Played 11 rounds in 5 days it gave me a great deal of playing time to see where the mistakes where coming from . My playing partners are some very good golfers when I connected and when I didn't they let me know. Tempo was my key to squaring the club head getting great length and straight shots. I would swing with the tempo of Couples 1 time and the drive would go 270-280 next drive I swing out of my shoes totry and hit it just as long and would end up 210-225, 25 yards left or right.humbling game!
  16. 1 quick trick is to look in a mirror and see where your belt buckle is when you stop the shoulder turn an the back swing . If you are flexible getting a good turn sometimes you will turn the lower body along with the shoulders and don't get the torque that is needed to get the speed that you want. Hold the hip tight and not let it turn all the way around. I guarantee you will pick up 5-10 mph immediately and 10-15 yards on the distance end. When you understand how the resistance between the hips and shouldersworks this is where the power is. Good luck.
  17. just came back from skiing with the family a couple of the family members are doctors. They implied that it works for some and not for others. there advise was to try it for 2-3 months if I don't feel any different stop due to the fact it is quite pricey. I went on line to a few sites it seems the extreme athletes are the ones promoting the beneficial effects. I will check out the site thanks for the info. Just in time for spring time course opening!
  18. If your not going to putt with it why buy it. I was just given a scotty button back. It is absolutely beautiful. The man never used it. It is a great putter and I have no regrets of using it.
  19. Has anyone out in the trap tried a regular program of the supplements G & C? Does it or has it worked for you in controlling total body and joint ache? When I start my day its nothing but pain after a few hours the joints warm up and it seems to be ok. The early morning rounds are the ones that hurt the most.
  20. could be some none skiing conditions. If I have a chance to get out what is the phone number of your home base or should I try to connect thru the sandtrap? Should i bring my own stiks or do you have some demos to use?
  21. hello iacas, heading out to peeknpeak this weekend from boston. You available for a lesson? I can swing off 90 on my way by.
  22. Interesting answers on the degree of loft. I have a 910h19* and a 21* Isn't the idea that the 19* would replace the irons of the same loft and they are just easier to hit? My new 5 iron is 27* of loft and someone gave me a new 910h 27* same loft which will go farther?
  23. I guess my next quest to to get me a light meter and come back with some info. Is there a particolar number I am looking for?
  24. thats why I am here 3bill. I know of someone that has tried indoors at our facility and the 1st go around with the basic didn't work thyen I added 3 300 watt lights just over head that didn't work so I am hoping the golf gods here on the trap will help me out!
