  1. Just bought myself a 2004 Jaguar X-Type 2.5. You know, 'cause AWD is good in the snow...
  2. "Round 2 of the Dubai Desert Classic" by The Golf Channel
  3. I was in the same boat you're in last year. I bought a used set of TM rac's which came 4-AW (attack being essentially the same as gap--solid from around 100). When I went to get new wedges, I decided on a 54 and 58 to complement the set and maintain that ~4 degree margin between clubs. I also went with TM rac wedges because while they may not be the "best" wedges on the market, I like that they have a similar look to the rest of my irons when I set up over them. That may or may not be something you want to factor in, I simply like the confidence that inspires.
  4. I love a good 9-iron eagle! Made one myself 2 years back to a blind green from about the same distance. I thought I heard it rattle in, but my buddy said no way. The joke was on him when we climbed up to the green and saw the ball mark inches from the pin and my Titleist at the bottom of the cup. That said, here's a toast to you!
  5. +1 to all of that.
  6. Update: The SIMSTIX accessory is a steal at $40. I thought TW 12 was fun before, but I'll never play without it again. First of all, it feels like an actual club. It's a little on the light side, but you could add some lead tape to it to give it even more of a realistic feel. That said, it's the perfect size. I don't have a high ceiling, but can easily swing this at full-speed. And, I find that the swing-path/face-angle is even more accurate with the SIMSTIX. If you have a Tiger Woods game (and only a TW game, since the trigger only activates the "B" button), you have to get this!
  7. I was looking at the Chicken Stick too. The reason I'm considering this one over that is a review that said after only a few weeks the Chicken Stick one broke. But if yours is still working well, I might just go that route. Thanks!
  8. As a Wisconsin resident, much of my golf this winter has been in front of my TV, (though the weather did cooperate in early January, letting me squeeze in two rounds to break up the monotony). Fortunately, I have a Wii with Tiger Woods 12 to keep swinging in my apartment's living room. I'm looking at picking up this: http://www.amazon.com/SKLZ-SIMSTIX-Golf-Nintendo-Wii-White/dp/B005UTLXXE/ref=pd_sim_sg_2 I'm just wondering if anyone's tried one of these and can tell me if it's reliable before I drop $40 on it. Then again I might anyway. It'll still be awhile before I have to buy a box of balls...
  9. It's hard for me to not get a Leinenkugel's (esp. the Creamy Dark)... too much pride in the Badger State and Chippewa Valley. That said, one of the best I've had lately is the Rogue Shakespeare Stout. I used to prefer ales, but now there's nothing better than a good, dark beer.
  10. Thanks for the tip! The True Linkswear site looked too pricey for me, but that might be more doable. Also, as a fellow tifoso, I must give kudos for the great username!
  11. Stuff like this is why I've always been a fan of Poults.
  12. +1 I started this year playing four different wedges (Pw, Aw, 54 and 58) and only one fairway wood to give me more options around the green. Already shaved strokes off my game.
  13. I really wanted to see PJ get a shot at one more ring, but I too would step-down after that performance. Interesting to think that we could conceivably see a Mavs/Grizzlies W. Conf. Final. All I can say to that is this year's champ is coming out of the East.
  14. I will almost always hit 3-wood off the tee early in a round (unless the fairway's quite wide). I'll save the driver until I've got more consistency in my swing.
  15. I'd really like to see Poulter win his first major at Augusta. That said, I think it's more likely he'll win The Open. I'm going to go with Kaymer.
  16. How is that TaylorMade bag? I was browsing Scheels and it seems pretty light...
  17. Well done, Jasonbolt! As someone who first broke 40 on 9 this past year myself (also with a 38) I can attest to the confidence it brings. I just hope I didn't rust-over too much during the long winter...
  18. I'm going to have to agree with you here. I'm itching to play so badly I'm considering picking up some neon yellow balls and heading out in the snow (below zero windchill in WI right now...)
  19. I'll drink to that!
  20. Couldn't be happier about this! Close game, great result, and hats off to the Steelers organization for being both a challenge and class act in defeat. Only thing left to say is: GO PACK GO!
  21. I'm a journalist for an abc affiliate.
  22. One more with me. A chilly hello from La Crosse.
