  2. I think it was pretty funny the way he and his caddie were talking. Na seemed pretty pissed off, but, he kept his cool.
  3. I can maybe see cold weather affecting some forge irons because of the condensation. it could rust up the clubs.
  4. if the difference was like 5 bucks, I would play the course. if it was $10, I would probably do the range. I much rather play golf on the course than the range. but that's me.
  5. since I worked at a golf course for more than 2 years, I probably played 2-3 times a week. and lately I have more time on monday and weds. I have probably played around 300 rounds in the past 4-5 years.
  6. short putts could be tougher for him than long putts. like me for instance, I of course would love a 2 foot birdie putt. but, when I have a 20 foot birdie putt compared to a 8 foot birdie putt, I almost feel more relaxed on the 20 foot putt. I don't know why that is. just how I am with putting I guess.
  7. I know I read it some where. I can't remember where though. I tried looking it up again but can't find anything yet.
  8. yes, he should play a role in his putters. I like the fact that he actually goes to the conventions to promote his clubs and not send some representative.
  9. who knows really. I hope he does. he did show some of the old tiger we all know. and welcome to the forum PinkMagic.
  10. I guess be happy that there are some dumb thieves.
  11. I never said that others don't put a lot of effort into their designs. we are talking about scotty cameron putters here. not other brands. so I said scotty puts a lot of effort into his putters. you have absolutely NOOOOOOOOOOOO idea how much he is involved in his putters. sure, he has workers who makes his putters, but he is in the offices everyday working his ass off with new designs AND with personalization of putters that people send in. he takes a lot of pride in his putters. I wouldn't be surprised if he checks every single putter that is made to meet his standards. I've read up on pretty much as much as I could on scotty cameron and how his company works. he is involved in everything.
  12. from different websites. I forgot the name of the new design. similar to the studio select. looks really cool.
  13. a lot of people I play with play like what you just described. take an 8 iron and bump and run the ball to the hole. I like a little more check on my ball. I don't know why, probably because that is how I played my short shots in the beginning. but yeah, bump and run works great to get it close. the flop shot can be difficult to judge.
  14. I can see cosmetic changes. I'm sure there are some differences that we can't see. scotty really does put a lot of effort into his putters. his new putters, can't remember the name, will be out in the fall and look just like the studio select but different cosmetics.
  15. well, I have to use a glove since I have sweaty palms. it is not nearly as bad as some people I have met, but, without a glove, I can lose the club. haha. for the short shots, I don't have to use a glove. like the 50 yards and in shots.

Tennis!! you could go to the semis in every tournament throughout the year and never win any of the 4 major tourney's and place at the #1 ranking. ana ivanovic, caroline wozniacki and jelena jankovic are the ones that come to my mind as former number 1's who have yet to win a major. caroline has been #1 for over a year now and she has not won a major yet. she gets to the semis and loses.

when vijay took the #1 spot from tiger I was amazed by that. the golf world was amazed, at least, that's what I felt when that happened. IMO....it is different now. the feeling that being #1 now doesn't feel like an accomplishment. if tiger was at the top of his game and still was dominating and someone took the #1 spot away from him, then it would be a big deal. like vijay. he was playing some great golf when he took #1 away. I don't know if we will ever see another tiger in golf other than himself if he gets his swagger back. he was just to good for those years he dominated. like sonicblue said, tiger was never irrelevant. I felt like he always had a chance to win it on sunday. I remember when he missed a cut for the first time in lord knows how many tournaments and it was a huge deal. that was all the sports world could talk about.
  18. well yeah, gerald. when I said chip, I meant all variety's of chips shots. flop, bump and run, etc. but I wouldn't consider "chip" shot more of a "pitch" shot. when I think of a pitch shot I think of a little longer shot. like 25 yards off the green and you are more wristy and use the arms a bit more. it is a more vertical shot, meaning, you take the club back more at steeper angle than a chip shot. a "chip" shot.....I see it as more of a horizontal shot. so, more like a putting motion where your hands stay more parallel with the ground. I like to put my hands in front of the ball, bring the club back and swing. of course, never break the wrists. both can be a bump and run shot or a flop shot. just depends on what situation you are in. the feet position for both shots are kinda similar for me. feet closer together, and angled towards the hole. body position is more forward, ball on the back foot. the feet is all that I think is similar between and "chip" and "pitch" shot.
  19. haha. I know it's weird, but I feel the same way. I mean, it is only a golf ball. but it really does feel like Christmas.
  20. I am a huge believer of karma. I would turn that in to the pro shop the instant I picked it up. like xxsoultonesxx said, I check my clubs after every hole to make sure I have them. that way, I know exactly what hole to look at for a lost club because I look after every hole. You did the absolute right and only thing by turning it in. good for you! and karma will now see that and reward you.
  21. ok, so they may see some vulnerability in tiger, but that front 9 on sunday was just like when he was dominating a few years back. I can for sure see tiger winning some tourney's this year.
  22. If you used to balls from from the same spot every time and played best ball by yourself, then for sure, the 2nd score would be better.
  23. I wouldn't say tiger played good the whole tourney. he did ok the first day. great the 2nd and then bad the 3rd. the 4th day was one of the most trilling front 9 I have seen from tiger in quite some time. too much time in fact. the last nine he missed some key putts that would of thrown the rest of the field into a frenzy of trying to catch up. charl did something of course that will always be remembered as the best final four holes of the masters. but what if tiger made those 3 key putts? maybe charl and the rest of the field might of tried a little harder to make a par 5 in 2 and maybe mess up because they are trying to hard. of course, this is all speculation and charl probably would of done his thing and birdie the last 4 holes like he did. but, what if?
  24. tiger will always be the man. he knows it and the other players know it.
  25. yeah, true. I just wish he would of made those putts is all.
