  1. 1. Geoff Ogilvy- I dunno why, I hate Phil so I rooted for Ogilvy at Winged Foot. Ever since then, he has been my favorite player. 2. Tiger Woods- Love the dedication, mental and physical toughness, and what he has done for golf. 3. Nick Faldo- I wasn't a fan of golf back when he played, but I have heard about his competativness, and I like that. He is always a great announcer. 4. Paula Creamer- I just root for her in every LPGA tourny I see her in. She's also pretty hot.
  2. I got my ping i3's used for $200. I think that is a real good deal, and i probably woulda payed $100-$150 more for them. I got them when I was around a 20 handicap, and since then have worked my way up to a 12-13 handicap. These clubs would be real good for you, having a 28 handicap. They are easy to hit, and I think you can keep them until you start shooting in the 70's, then get some blades.
  3. Haha, alright, good, I got real nervous there for a little bit. I didn't wanna screw over my friend. And ya, I wouldn't be paying for them
  4. The school, which i took out the name just in case, has a deal with addidas, and therefore can get as much taylormade stuff as they want
  5. low quality= id go with a dozen srixon soft-feel. they are soft, and nice to putt and chip with. high quality= either the titleist pro v1 or the callaway hx tour 56. both are real soft and spin like crazy
  6. My friend is playing d1 golf, and they threw equipment at him like it was christmas. all different types of clubs, balls, and apparel. it turns out the sent him the ping i5's, callaway x-forged's, and the TM r7 irons, along with multiple drivers, fairway woods, wedges, putters, balls etc. he liked the i5's the best, and said he would give me the callaway x-forged irons if i wanted them. i am around a 13 handicap, but that is getting better pretty quickly, as i assume the time he comes back in november (the time i could be getting them) my handicap could be in single digits. i like my current ping i3's, but they are a little clunky and as im starting to get better, i want a more workable set of irons. i am a pretty good ball striker, and was wondering if these irons are too hard to hit for somebody with around a 10 handicap? thanks
  7. I use a pw, gw, and sw. I only have 13 clubs in the bag, so I might go get a lw also
  8. Oh sorry, one other thing... When somebody says "kick left/right" when it is obvious it isn't going to kick they way they want
  9. One time a while ago I pulled a ball left, and went up onto a street. The course was backed up, so the group behind us was at the same tee box, and he cupped his ear, listening for something. He then said, "Where's the sound of the ball hitting the winshield, because that was a horrible shot." All of his friends started laughing, but I wanted to go over and start beating him with a wedge.
  10. At a short pitch-and-putt course near me, they have this huge tub filled with recycled golf balls that are 3 for $2.50. Since everybody that plays there is a beginner, they just grab random balls out of there without knowing if they are getting the best or worst balls in the tub. I went there a couple days ago, and it was filled with the best balls in almost perfect condition. I know where I'm now going to get all my new balls, as you can get 12 top of the line balls for only $10. In that trip I got 3 pro v1's, 1 hx tour-56, 1 bridgestone e6, and 1 top-flight d2 feel for only $5. Does anybody else get there balls like i get mine?
  11. I'm thinking about getting a 60* vokey SM.
  12. today at pacific grove golf course, on a 355 yard par 4, i hit on about 30 yards short of the hole. so for all you non-math majors out there, thats 325 yards. it was right on the screws, since i usually averege around 260.
  13. wow, today i played pacific grove muni, as i was deciding between playing that or poppy hills. i decided to go with what i have heard about pacific grove- it is similar to all the other courses in the area, but for a lot cheaper. all i can say is that i loved it, the back nine is the most amazing golf i have every played. i shot a 40 on the back nine, and i am still stoked from how much fun i had. im hoping to go back soon, and i definetely agree with jmhunter
  14. Ya, I recently got a TM r7 460 9.5 stiff. I couldn't be any happier with it, I love it
  15. I have heard a lot of good things about the Titleist 585.H. I currently have the TM rescue dual 19*, which replaces my 3-iron. I like it alot, but I pretty much only use it when I drive into the rough on par 4/5's, and need a club to hit it fairly far and out of the rough. I don't use it off the tee or on the fairway that much, because I have a 5 wood which basically the same loft which I use for fairway shots. I know this is what everyone says, but go to your local golf shop and hit a couple ones that you are thinking about, and get the one that you feel most confident with. Good luck
  16. That is probably the best golf quote ever.
  17. Ya, how do you like them? I was thinking about getting it, but I haven't really heard much about them, so I decided to get a 52* oil can for my fairway wedge, and a 56* SM for my SW.
  18. Wow, I played today and seemed to get amazing spin with the OC. I love it. I think it feels better and gets more spin then the SM, but I love them both.
  19. hahahahahahahaha, wow, I love that feeling when you are really tired and it is really late, and everything seems 10x funnier then it actaully is. That is me right now, wow, I'm crying I'm laughing so hard.
  20. I might have to flip a coin between titleist and TaylorMade. Driver-TM Woods-TM Irons-Titleist Wedges-Titleist Putter- I know the Scotty Cameron's are supposed to be great, but I love my new TM putter. I have no idea which one I would have to choose between those...
  21. So I went to golfsmith today, and they were having a sale, where everything was like, 10% off, so I got a 52* oil can and a 56* spin-milled. I'm going to play tomorrow, I can't wait to use them on the course!
  22. So tomorrow I'm going to golfsmith to get a new GW(52*). From reading stuff online, it seems as though the oil can is much better then the tour chrome (more spin, and a better feel). The only thing that the tour chrome seems to have is that there isn't as big of a glare. So, anybody have any suggestions on which one is better? Thanks PS- I am going to hit them both, just wanted to see what people on the forum thought.
  23. I just got a dozen srixon soft feel. I am set with balls, but I lost my towel so I was going to get a new one, and there was a deal where if you buy a dozen of any srixon ball, you got a tour srixon towel free, so I got a towel and a dozen srixon soft feel for $20. I can't wait to try them out.
  24. First of all, I am 16 years old, so I understand the types of looks young people get on the golf course, as I assume everybody did when they were young. Second of all, I think it took guts to go online and ask people what they thought, because you must have known you were going to get ripped for what you said. I can't really say what I would do in that situation, because I am very competative and sometimes hot-headed, which it looks like you are too. In an ideal situation though I would just shake it off, and the next time he watches you take a shot, make sure to hit a shot right on the money, and turn around and stare at him. In my opinion that would send him the message that the one shot you drove OB was a fluke, and that he should never question what tees you hit from again. It would also give you the feeling that you proved the geezer wrong without being out of hand or rude. Just my 2 cents.
  25. I'm in a similar situation as you hypergolf. I hit the TM burner 3 wood, and loved it. I'm deciding between that and the x-tour 3 wood. Anybody with any suggestions?
