What's The Farthest Golf Ball You Have Ever Hit?
oneil003 replied to RKO's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
So today I was on a par 5 520 yard hole. About 250 strait, then a dog-leg right and another 270 to the hole. I went for the gamble to cut the corner, and hit it over to a batch on trees. I completely nailed it, furthest drive I have ever hit. It was strait, perfect height, and it felt soooo good. When I finally got to the ball, it was 5 yards in front of a sprinkler that was labled, 150 yards to the pin. It wasnt a 370 hard drive, because I cut the corner, but I would say it was at least 280-290. And btw, it was a nike one black practice ball -
Callaway Big Bertha vs. Titleist NXT

It is actaully the ball Tiger uses, although tiger's is slightly altered (harder cover). Anyway, but ya, I really like it, kinda an unheard of ball, but I get em off of www.lostgolfballs.com . You can get a dozen of them barely used for $12. Here are reviews of it... http://www.golfreview.com/cat/balls/...3_2943crx.aspx -
I'm getting a new driver, which one?
oneil003 replied to oneil003's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I know that there is a specific r7 draw, and then an r7 460. Your saying you used the r7 draw right? Because if so, I'm thinking of getting the r7 460. -
I'm getting a new driver, which one?
oneil003 replied to oneil003's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I was thinking about the ping, and I have their irons and love them, but I've heard bad things about their new drivers. I agree with you guys, I just have to go out and use each one more to see which is the best for me -
So I know that the driver I should get is the one I hit the best and feel most confident with, but I just wanted to get your guys' opinions. I currently have a Titleist 983K, but I want to get a 460cc club. I have narrowed it down to 3: Nike Sasquatch Sumo, Callaway X460, or the Taylormade R7 460. I have hit all 3, and I think I am leaning towards the TM. I'm not sure though, what are your guys' opinions. PS. My swing speed is between 90-95 mph.

Callaway Big Bertha vs. Titleist NXT
oneil003 replied to oneil003's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I actaully have started playing with the nike tour accuracy. I actually really like that ball. Has anyone else had a good experience with it? -
A fundamentally sound swing will help you hit it further and straiter. If your swing is not fundamentally sound, it will probably take you a lot longer to learn how to hit it strait. But hey, if you play a round of golf everyday even if your swing is ugly, chances are that you are pretty good. A fundamentally sound swing is not needed, but it will definately help, and will be much more efficient.

I bet it was just one of those days. Last Friday I went to the range and I was shanking every single ball. That night thats all I thought about, and how my swing was now changed, and all these theories about how my swing was ruined and will be horrible forever. The next day I went out to the course and played the best that I have ever played in my life... I know this is much easier said then done, but don't sweat it, you and your swing will be fine

Callaway Big Bertha vs. Titleist NXT
oneil003 replied to oneil003's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Which is better, then NXT or the NXT Tour? -
Good job on this topic, this is fun to think about. I have 2 though. One is my Titleist Vokey 56*. I am really consistent with it, and I use from from anywhere between 5-100 yards. My next favorite is my TM rescue 19* club. Like my 56, I am exteremely confident and consistent with it. I can hit it off of a tee on a long par 3, in the rough, or off the fairway on a par 5.

Ya, he definately stepped up. I was rooting for O'hair though. Ever since the Players I have been rooting for him.

So, like everyone else, I love to play the titleist pro v1(x). Im getting to the point where I don't really wanna pay that kind of money, and be so worried about losing balls. If I'm playing in a match I'll use the pro 1v, but just playing around on a weekend, I would rather play with a cheaper ball. I would either choose the Callaway Big Bertha or the Titleist NXT. Which one do you guys like more? Thanks

Anybody watching it?

In my opinion, it is more important to have a strong core and lower body then having a strong upper body in golf

Goolie BGS 33. Its a real small company based in Southern California. Its a cool story how I got it though. My friend got that putter in So Cal, and he won a junior tournyment while using it. The company, hoping to get some publicity, sponsered him and actaully made him a signature model with a signature color. He gave me his old Goolie putter, which is actaully really nice, and got his new signature one. He actaully doesn't use that putter anymore.

This is actaully a really funny coincidence. I went to a local course today that has a really good pro shop with great deals on used/demo clubs. I was actaully looking at the Taylormade rescue mid. I asked if I could take it out the the range and hit it. It felt so smooth, and it was only $60, so I decided to get it. It actaully felt even nicer then my nike that I previously had. So scratch that I had a nike cpr3, its now a TM rescue mid 19*.

nike cpr3, favorite club in the bag

I was playing with this guy who was around 50 years old, and really not that great of a player at all. On this one hold, you have to hit it over this ditch, which isn't hard. As long as you hit it longer then 150 yards, you'll be fine. He steps up to the tee with a 4 iron and completely shanks it right into the ditch. He turns to me and says, "Its weird how I can constantly drive 300 yards, but when there is a ditch there I cant hit the ball at all." I kinda just chuckled and said to myself, "300 yard drive? Ya right."

Which fairwaywoods do you use?
oneil003 replied to hypergolf's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I got a King Cobra SZ 3 wood, a Taylormade v steel 5 wood, and a nike hybrid. I love my TM 5 wood, and I use it pretty much always over my 3 wood -
Still loving my Titleist 983k

Ya I'm in a similar situation too, where the high school that I play for will pay for all balls that I hit at the range. I don't go out and randomly hack at balls, but I will set up and work on what I need to work on.

I shot a 38 in 9 holes, all par 3's
