  1. the new titleist 910fd is an option. larger head than the normal f, and weighted farther back in the head. It was made specifically for use off of the tee.
  2. today on a short par 3 about 145 to the pin, 20 mph gusts left to right on a right pin location guarded by a bunkers infront and behind. played to the middle of the green and let the wind carry my 9 iron about 5 ft left of the hole. dropped the birdie putt and finished one over on 9.
  3. 60 vs 30 I take 60 minute lessons, and feel like if they were any shorter, i would get absolutely nothing done. After 60 minutes sometimes i feel like i want more, just to fine tune what i just learned. As far as how regularly you take lessons, i believe is totally up to you and what you feel you need, and how serious you want to get in a certain time span. I take lessons usually every 2 weeks. sometimes 3 weeks, but never more than that. on occasion i will take a lesson on back to back weekends, if i have a tournament or something coming up, and issues with a certain aspect of my game. 2 week intervals seem to be perfect for what i am striving for, however i believe it changes person to person. I think i will never finish taking lessons, i am sure the regularity of my lessons will dwindle, but i doubt i will ever stop taking lessons for life. I think a lesson every 2 months or so would be beneficial to my game... hell, even the pros have "coaches" that they see regularly, so why stop. but maybe once you reach your desired handicap and feel comfortable with what you learned you might decide that its time to call the lessons quits.
  4. hitting a 910 d2 and have absolutly nothing bad to say about it. Very nice true flight and looks nicer than some other drivers on the market...(r11 cough cough.) Im tempted to try the r11, but surely wont buy it because i love what i have. as far as wedges go, im told once you notice the wedges arent spinning as usual...its about time to change them. I use mizuno mp-t11's, the current conforming model. but if you are looking for something cheaper, the mp-t10's are the previous model without the conforming groves, and much cheaper if i remember correctly.
  5. i would get a set of custom scratch irons. they are beautiful and allow you to fully customize almost everything.
  6. to stop my coming inside too early tendencies, i was told to place a quarter about 9in to a foot behind the ball and on the takeaway be sure that the club goes over the top of the quarter.
  7. mid size golf pride blue multi compound cords on everything. looking forward to change them up next year, not that i dont like them, i just want to see what else is out there.
  8. dustin johnson -10
  9. this is a hilarious topic. I chose orange, because i believe there will be more yellow than orange balls if this actually does happen, and orange is more bareable than light blue or pink...
  10. mizuno/bettinardi bc7. a nice cool looking heel shafted blade style putter, seems to be working well for me. I am going to pick something up that is more face balanced just to compare it to what i have now.
  11. if you have any interest at all in the g15's, i would get them. only because they are pings top of the line club, and if you get the g10's you will always be wondering what the g15's would have done differently for your game, and how much more improvement they would have given. could be a mental thing that would never allow you to reach your full potential with the g 10's simply because you would be wishing you got the g15's. even if i had to wait a couple of extra months to save up, i would go for the g 15's.
  12. seems goofy, but could you be incorrectly loading your bag into your car? maybe hitting driver on the frame of the trunk, or somehow allowing all of the weight of your bag to be resting on the head of your driver and shaft? another thought could be if you fly with your clubs often, and dont use a hard travel bag. bag slid into the bottom of the plane, and since the driver is longest club in bag, takes the hit against the opposing wall? just some possible explanations for your issue.
  13. great thread please keep it going!!
  14. i see you are coming over the top a little bit, but that is not a big issue if you are striking the ball well, which it looks like you are. maybe work on taking the club back a little more outside, and in one piece, less "wristy" action. looks really nice though. definite improvement over last year.
  15. looks very nice, some little things i think you could do to improve your overall consistency would be #1 moving the ball more forward in your stance, just inside your left heel, and #2 slowing down your backswing, and not trying to kill the ball. at the end of the swing you seem to loose balance, this is why i think you may be swinging a little to hard. overall very nice swing, and i'm suprised its a 20 handicap, looks like it could be much lower with only a few minor changes.
  16. make sure you swing both of the jpx's, the pros and the normal ones. the pros are forged and could give you the forgiveness and consistency you need in your iron shots, with the workability that the normal jpx's wont.
  17. i own the jpx 800's and although i love them, i do not think they compare with any of the other super game improvement irons as far as forgiveness. If i were looking for something super forgiving, i would start in the ping department, and make my way to the new cobras which look very nice. Also check out the adams offerings, cant recall the name right now, but heard they were pretty nice.
  18. try keeping your left heel on the ground during your back swing. i had the same problem and it was super hard to keep it planted, but once i got the hang of it, it eliminated a lot of my bad shots.
