where should I go to have my clubs re-gripped?
LankyLefty replied to jgreen85's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I would go into your garage or basement or backyard, possible a deck if that is available, and if none of those are available your living room will od just fine. Seriously regripping is the easiest thing to do to a golf club. Its hard to screw up to bad and even if you do, you can buy another grip for less then the price of having a shop do it for yah. -
Your swing looks very forced and unnatural to me right up until about halfway through the downswing. Then it all magically comes together. The impact position looks great.

I have one "draw bias" club and I must say though the reason I bought it was purely price, It does seem to help. Its slight but noticeable.

Are hybrids able to be fitted for lie?
LankyLefty replied to inthecup's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Almost all clubs (including driver and woods) can be bent in the right persons hands, a lot of places wont do it however becuase the odds of breaking the club are much increased. Your best bet would be to buy a hybrid from a OEM who offers the service themselves as they would probably cover any damage. -
Unless you look and smell like a sketch ball how many traffic stops end with your trunk getting searched? You get pulled over, they check your seat belt make you blow in at tube maybe but unless your an idiot theres you wont get caught. Its easy. You cany buy guns in NYC without a background check and waiting period as well as classes ect. ect. yet somehow thousands of guns find their way onto the streets. Ive driven to North Carolina from NYC on at least 10 different occasions without getting pulled over. Those 10 trips to similar location with lenient gun laws would have been enough to on a small scale smuggle 100 or more small firearms into new york. The risk of getting pulled over is no greater then any other car out there so long as you follow traffic laws. Its too easy its stupid. Handgun bans in major cities have a great goal but the end product is more guns with less control over them and less training for the ones carrying them then their ever would be if you could get a legal gun for 30% of what an illegal one costs.

Anyone play with just every other club?
LankyLefty replied to wormkiller's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I play a small 5 hole course with an abbreviated set quite often. Its the best deal near me 5 holes 20 Euros unlimited replay. I usually bring Driver 3wood 5 hybrid 7,8,9 SW putter, ill swap those around if I want to work on a specific club. Makes walking easier and since the 5 holes are well predictable I can cut out clubs of lengths I never use. -
Their are going to be Idiots everywhere who are willing to do dumb things with guns, but in the countryside has less crime, crime that does exist is does not have direct victims as much, but Guns are a different animal in the cities. While their are arguments for both sides I think people, who without training and regular practice, buy guns for "protection" are fooling themselves. People without the proper training and practice are endangering themselves, their families and everyone around them by owning a gun for "protection". Handgun bans have a negative effect only because of how they fuel the black market, its free money, go buy 5 handguns in georgia for 200 a pop sell em for 1k a piece in the NYC. There aren't any border crossings, its low risk and high reward and it kills people.

Your target line is a strait line, your swing is an arc, to hit a strait shot you essentially need that arc to be tangent to your target line at the point where the ball is, if you cross over the line you can no longer be tangental to your target line and so you can no longer hit the ball strait. In order to be tangental you must approach the ball from the inside and NEVER get outside of the ball. So yes there are absolutes and this is one of them.

I agree, when Tiger was Tiger his trademark was being more aggressive then the rest of the field, when the course is easier everyone is gonna be aggressive.

Only way to get better over winter is to.... play over winter in some place where its not very wintery. Seriously you can do a lot of stuff to help yourself out, hit the gym, go to an indoor range ect. ect. ect. but youll still be worse on the other side of winter unless you can play. Do what you will over winter but your not going to do any better come spring, just better then you would have had you not worked over winter.

Its still probably worth more then 20 bucks but the ones you hear about going for thousands are the Scottsdales.
-
Unlike with other clubs a Hybrid does not have standard lengths across brands, some are more wood length some more iron length.

Being from new york city I am probably one of the most anti gun people you will ever meet, people from out in the countryside where guns are common and populatin is sparse dont understand what guns do in a big city. Although I am the first one to admit that handgun bans in major cities have had a negative effect.

checkout www.dallasgolf.com as well as their ebay store. These guys are some of the biggest used and clearance people in the golf business, I bet you could outfit a full all brand name set of clubs for under 250 bucks if you poked around enough.

The difference is 5 grams :P In all seriousness for the most part it is that simple, a lighter shaft will make for a slightly heavier feeling head during the swing sometimes, you will just have to see if you like it.

Par for the course inflates newer golfers scores.
LankyLefty replied to trackster's topic in Golf Talk
I always tee my Irons shots the tee is basically all the way down to the ground but I still feel it gives me better contact. -
Personally I don't the only thing big about them is the purse, other then that they are just more tournaments. Point is as long as tiger is not so bad you almost couldn't justify him keeping his tour card... hes gonna play anywhere people can get him and hes willing to go.
-
Get real people... Tiger is going to be in every major golfing event that he wants to be in for so long as it makes people like you and me more likely to talk about it and then go watch it. It not about how well hes played or how good his season was.... its about the fact that hes Tiger woods and everywhere he goes big hype(and TV ratings) follow.

Act your age, not your handicap.

This video makes me die laughing... "Is there a building shaking?... Should we go somewhere?"

Struggling with being long... *rant*
LankyLefty replied to SVTGolfer's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Hah im the opposite, I hit my driver 5 wood and long hybrids like a dream. Especially my 5 wood, love that club. But my irons are so hit or miss, I routinely hit on or around greens on par 5s in 2 and then still bogey. -
Not to sound douchebaggish but the likelihood of a legit handicap being exactly 7 on the dot are astronomical. This person could certainly play to a 7 and Im not saying he does not but... in general a nice round 7 is never gonna happen, which would lead you to believe this number is more of a guesstimation or average score rather then a legit properly calculated handicap. Then again this could lend to either side of the argument, If im a really good golfer but only play public courses casually and never play tournys I could play to 7 cap but not know much about rules. Or I could be more like 14 on an easy course but say Im a 7 because that my average score.
