  2. Thanks for taking the time to post this in response to my post on another thread. Appreciate it.
  3. I would love to hear your thoughts on the DST after you have used it for a while. Good luck this winter and I think you are making the right choice with the "one voice" approach. Sometimes too many chefs...
  4. Sorry to hear of your decision but it is completely understandable as well. I too will miss the updates on your progress. Hopefully at some point in the future you will come back and post some updates with a few points on how you got there. Keep your eye on the prize and do what makes you happy.
  5. Pete, I hope each day you take just one moment to enjoy the peace and beauty of those mornings. :)
  6. Thanks for the long and detailed posts Pete. That was great. I appreciate you taking the time and enjoy the insight you are giving us into your journey.
  7. It's the evaluation stuff that really interests me. If, once this round is complete, you feel comfortable sharing how the evaluation then goes into shaping your next phase of training (the adjustments you are making, the reasoning behind it, how you think it will address your goal, etc.) I would be very interested in hearing more about this. Overall, great stuff. It inspires me to go out and work on my game. Keep it up and good luck!
  8. Funny, how many times I have heard "Pro's don't just stand and reload and pound balls..." "Pro's go through their routine on every shot..." "Pro's always have some sort of alignment aid out...". Obviously they don't. The best pro of them all is standing there reloading ball after ball doing none of the "Pro's only...". Now, he's 1 or 2 best all time, so yes he can do that and be fine. But that's not the point.
  9. This is a screen shot from a Trackman session with Poulter as seen in this video: In the red circle it displays, in yards, how far away the ball ways when Trackman was last able to track it. 253.9 yards away in this case. Definitely more than 4-6 ft.
  10. Hit 3 wood instead of driver off the tee. That'll leave you 70 yards out.
  11. Can't believe everything you read on the internet. Actually have to do some homework of your own. Euro Tour wasn't around when Jack started so only 10 of Jack's wins count as Euro wins as well. http://www.europeantour.com/europeantour/players/playerid=138/wins/index.html
  12. If you click on the link I include in my first post you will see the list of Tiger's 40 Euro wins. Straight from the Euro Tour website. You will see 31 WGC/Majors listed. These are co-sanctioned events by both tours so both tours list them in their tour win totals.
  13. Not really as you just pointed out that you tripled counted Tiger's majors (PGA + Euro + Majors). So take another 14 off Tiger. And it's back to Jack. I don't care who it is. You just insist that the numbers don't lie. So it's Jack. As the numbers don't care how old someone is or who qualified for what and when. The numbers are the numbers. And they are the numbers you provided for your argument. You can go ahead and try and rejustify them after they are proven inaccuarte but that seems rather folly doesn't it?
  14. Massive problem is that you didn't check your work. The Euro tour wins in effect double count all of Tiger's WGC's & Majors. http://www.europeantour.com/europeantour/players/playerid=218/wins/index.html Sooooo......if you want to take away 31 of those Euro tour wins then by your own argument parameters, Jack is the greatest. As you said, the numbers don't lie.
  15. One question for you, when you use the balancer and mark the line. Have you taken the ball out, spun it around randomly and then rebalanced it. If so, did it come back to exactly the same line you marked before? I ask not because I am not a believer, I am not in either corner, yet. But it seems like a simple test to do with multiple balls multiple times to see if there is something to it or not. If the balancer doesn't return the ball to that same line every time then to me, it's a falacy. If it does come back then I am going to have to think about this some more...
  16. How was the pricing in comparison to other iron shafts? As for issues with the driver shaft, I find that some people didn't follow the recommedations of the inventor and hence didn't get the best performance out of the shaft. For instance, the inventor states that the optimum length for the driver shaft is 43.5 or 44" and definitely not over 44.5". Shorter for a wood. I see a lot of people playing it at their normal 45.5 or even more and they are surprised when they don't get the results they expect. At the same time, it's not for everyone. It did great things for me though. I have mine at 44" and my 3 wood at 42.5".
  17. The club is fine. Use it all you want. Having the club in contact with your body above the elbow isn't allowed as I understand it. Kuchar only runs it up his forearm.
  18. Another way to look at it, drop all the tap in's and stuff 3 feet and in and he only makes 77.2% from 4-10 ft (I say "only" but that is still darn good) 8-10 ft: 51.5% 4-7 ft: 86.6%
  19. You missed the point that we were speaking specifically of the GX-4 which also measures slope, so it isn't legal at all.
  20. You are correct. You can't use it for any round you intend to post for handicap purposes.
  21. No, nothing more. Just a list. I just keep it in my yardage book holder. Actually, I don't use a yardage book but it's where I keep this list, my aimpoint chart and then the scorecard. Absolutely it's dynamic. I use a SkyCaddie myself but it is just one less thing to think about when I am in a tournament. It is really just about planning the tee shot. After that you are right, you have to deal with what you have. I also don't do it for the par 3's as who knows where the pin might be. I do think the pro's know what club they want to hit on just about every tee before they start the round. Hence Jim Furyk in the US open and not being "prepared" for that shorter tee shot. He obviously had some sort of plan ahead of time and that shorter tee box wasn't in it and it messed him up. The plan has to deal with the fact that maybe you are on a different tee block than you planned for, or maybe the wind is in your face or whatever. Tiger all through the British Open spoke about sticking to the plan. Adam Scott, if he had a plan, shouldn't have included hitting driver on the last hole, that was dumb and it may have cost him the title as he hit it too far and ended up in the bunker. Obviously, there is something to it if they do it. Then again, it won't be for everyone. If I can save myself thinking for just 5 seconds on every tee block about what shot to hit and where and rather spend that time thinking about the shot I am going hit, that helps me. It also gives me 100% confidence that I have made the right choice, I just have to hit the shot. Exactly jgreen. It is so much easier to make clear choices the night/day before. In the moment it's too easy to get caught up in "hit the driver" or whatever club and you end up in trouble. The toughest part is getting on the tee and sticking to that conservative shot that you knew the day before was the right play. Sometimes you just want to scratch that itch and it takes a little dicipline to hit that smart shot under tournament pressures. As for altitude, look along the bottom of the screen, you will see lat/long as well as the altitude of the spot your cursor is on.
  22. Do Use Google Earth to plan your round. The measuring tool on Google Earth combined with the satellite imagery allow you to pre-plan what clubs you want to hit to give you preferred yardages into greens. You can also find your aiming points ahead of time. For me, this takes a lot of thinking out of the equation as on every tee I know what I want to play and why. I might have to make small adjustments based on the wind direction/speed for that day but it was so much easier to walk up to the tee and look in my yardage book to see my notes "3 wood at 2nd bunker on the left" know that it was the right club/yardage and just proceed to confidently hit the shot. A lot less thinking of "how far is that bunker? will I reach it? how far will that leave me to go....3 wood...driver...." Of course the other part is once you make the plan, stick to it.
  23. I ordered my bubble over 3 weeks ago and still haven't recieved it. I have now sent 2 follow ups in the past week asking for word on when I can expect mine to arrive. Has anyone else had any trouble ordering there bubbles? I ordered mine here so it should be legit. http://www.aimpointgolf.com/store-bubble.html
  24. You mean most of them in real life probably wounldn't lump them all together and tell people that they otherwise know nothing about that they live miserable lives? That kind of thing?
