  1. Brilliant article thanks! 1 of my problems is I always want to do things perfect or by the book.
  2. I bring the club inside on my backswing, I know this isn't textbook and everyone seems to be scared of doing this but it works perfectly for me? I play my best golf when I bring the club inside. I hit a lovely draw or it is straight and I feel like i can compress the ball alot better. But i started trying to bring the club up more and had nothing but problems, shanks thins and a slice and there was no consistency in my ball striking, so I'm wondering if I should stay with this "textbook takeaway" or keep to my own natural 1 that I can play so well with? I must be doing something right though ?or compensating for a flaw?
  3. Well a guy I play with does,he plays crap and hes only about 4 or 5 over his handicap. His consistency is fantastic I wish I had that kind of consistency. I can have a 82 one week and a 92 the next.
  4. I think it does, they only tend to be slower on the greens. today we were stuck behind a slow 4 ball but the 4 ball behind us kept driving over our heads, the ball nearly hit me twice. I couldn't keep calm anymore so i had to say to them about it.. is it ok to drive over slow players heads?
  5. 87 - par 70...played really bad but hit decent drives. Irons were really bad but I scrambled ok to save some shots.
  6. I recently bought a scotty cameron of Customizegolf.com as I thought it was an American website, turns out when i tracked my order it came from China,I havn't recieved the club yet but I know it's a fake! Any thing I can do in terms of a refund or will I just have to learn my lesson lol???
  7. Me too. As i said I don't think im in anyway a natural at the game and don't swing like a touring pro that's why i was shocked at having these surprising rounds and was just hoping it is a good sign of things to come. Hopefully if I work alot on my game I can get better and shoot more rounds in the 70s.
  8. Swimming can only be beneficial! As you say it works all the core and that will stand by you in your golf game and for later years too.
  9. I've played alot of those courses lol Greats photos !! I cannot wait to play Druids Glen,is it as good as they say?
  10. Nice swing mate. I'm in no position to offer any help though lol
  11. You're only 13 so nothing to really worry about yet. Just practice alot more often rather than knocking out rounds of golf trying to break 100 because you can devolep bad habits. Work on your fundementals at the range or with the pro and practice your short game alot, and never underestimate bunker play, and you'll drop alot of shots off your handicap. I got in a rut when I started i was obsessed about breaking 100 and when I did I just kept playing rather than practicing and got into bad habits so my advice would be just keep working on your game then put it to the test in a round and see how many shots you can shave off. and make sure you play 18 holes. If you're not used to coming up the last few holes it can have a bad effect on your card.
  12. You're just hooked lol I have been playing for just a little over a year and have walked ouf the course telling myself i'm quiting the game then the next week I feel like i'm hitting the ball beautifully and the buzz all comes rushing back. It's the ups and downs that make you the player you are. I wish I shot 84s when I was playing 3 of the tee and 3 putting lol
  13. Yeah people say that to me but I still struggle of the tee sometimes and have rounds of 92 95 etc when i play well its usualy down to the ball striking and being round the green in 2 saving some pars getting some bogies and throwing a few birdies in on the par 3's. I can shoot mid 80s and feel I could be better but I understand alot of golfers would love to have those scores I just hope its a gd sign that I can get to single digits in a few years- i'm a late starter in golf,24 lol
  14. Ok so I've been playing around a year now and have broke 80 twice albiet once on a par 67 lol. But i shot a 79 on a par 70 6300 yrds links course and was wondering is this a good achievement? I certainly dont have great fundementals or a rory mcilroy swing And i still shoot in the high 90s occasionaly. Is it just good ball striking if i feel i'm no natrual at the game or a good short game? ? and is it possible I could get to single digits in 5 years?
  15. I use 3 titleist vokey wedges and wouldn't part with them! They were hard to hit initially but the spin and feel of them is fantastic.
  16. That looks like a tough hole
  17. I actually started hitting it further. I think the weight loss helped me turn more and as a result the ball goes further now. I was 14 stone I'm now 12.
  18. This is a great win for Northern Ireland,Republic of Ieland,The Island of Ireland, and British, Irish and European golf !!!! Well done D.Clarke
  19. I always thought it was the balls of the feet? But what do I know :)
  20. It frustrates me most of the time but I get a little depressed when I'm struggling of the tee and not hitting it very far,but that's golf !
