  1. With the cost of the grip and regripping, it could run anywhere from $5 to $10 per iron, unless you want to get into really high-end grips (which I think most find unnecessary).
  2. I wear $10 shorts from Academy and a cheap $15 polo from Target. More money for clubs and green fees...

    Soccer?

I was being sarcastic and suppose I forgot to put in the winky face. I love Henry and everything he did at Arsenal, and although I am somewhat bitter about his departure, I hope he does well at Barca (though not at the expense of Arsenal if they happen to meet again in the CL).
  4. It's basically like getting in two rounds of practice for the time and price of one. I usually do it for the first six or seven holes (when it's early in the morning and I'm playing alone) until I realise that I only have about four balls left and there are alot of water hazards left for me to negotiate on the course...
  5. I use the interlock, because that is how I naturally held a golf club after my first few rounds (I started out with a baseball grip, but quickly found that unworkable). I had always heard that it was solely a matter of personal preference and what you are most comfortable with. I doubt any teacher or pro would tell you to use one or the other...
  6. Now, I may be a bit naive, but how is a mosquito supposed to get into a sealed cooler of water?
  7. Reading through your blog, and I must say that I'm glad to see someone who likes Macs and golf as much as I do (and Airbag and Daring Fireball for that matter). BTW, NSLog(); is a great name for a Mac blog...
  8. Looks good, but is there any particular reason I should use this over say, NetNewsWire or NewsFire ? Still, it looks like it has potential and I may need to give it a try. Also, I may need to give that Scorecard app a spot in my dock...it looks pretty cool. Slightly off topic, but are you a programmer or a designer or what?
  9. Harvey Penick's Little Red Book It's one of the best selling golf books of all time for a reason. There is a little bit of unneeded nostalgia (which is still interesting none the less), but the information that Penick dispenses on both the mental and physical aspects of the game keep me coming back to it whenever I hit a rut in my game.
  10. That wedge looks excellent. This really makes me want to do it on my own wedge, but knowing my luck I'll screw something up. Great job...
  11. Yes, yes, yes. I finally came to the realization that I can hit 3w off the tee and leave myself a very playable shot, and if I'm not hitting my 3w well, I can go 6i 6i SW and two putt for a bogey on nearly every par four. That epiphany literally dropped 6 strokes off my game overnight, with literally no effort. I'm happy.
  12. I'm a ball picker (i.e. divots are small), mainly due to the typically dry conditions here in Texas. If it's wet, my divots tend to get larger. I think that there is no right or wrong divot size; it just changes from person to person based on swing type and playing conditions. Whatever works, methinks...
  13. Mine is about 25' if only because I have determined that I have a freakishly remarkable ability to drain 5' putts with ease...as long as they are my second putt and not my first one. I really don't know if I should be happy or sad about that fact...

    Soccer?

I have always liked soccer, and I figured out that it became alot more interesting when you actually had a team to root for. So, somewhat arbitrarily and somewhat with reason (I liked Thierry Henry and share that same birthday as him...but he is a traitor now), I decided to start following Arsenal ever since. And if a Serie A match is on, and Roma is playing, I'll always root for them. I kicked so much *** with Totti in FIFA 2007...
  15. Well seeing as my Dad made me read Harvey Penick's Little Red Book before I ever stepped foot on a golf course, I go with his line of thought. GW and LW slightly back of center, 9 and PW center, 6-8 slightly forward of center, 3-5 about 2" forward of center, 3W of the deck about 3" forward of center, 3W and driver off my left heel. It works well enough for me (I'm a decent iron striker, but my driver always gives me problems).
  16. I carry a gap wedge (52*) and lob wedge (60*) in my bag, if only because I already had the lob wedge and needed something that fitted nicely between my 46* pitching wedge and my lob. I use my gap for 110yds to 60yds (from then on in, I use my lob wedge...it is my favorite club and the one with which I have the most sentimental attachment).
  17. Wilson Di5. Got 3-PW for $180 plus shipping, but the clubs play like a set of $800 sticks.
  18. Used a TaylorMade Rossa Daytona-2 Sport (35") which now belongs to my brother for the better part of three threes before switching to an old, used $5 Doug Ford Professional Model blade (and I mean blade) putter. Now I use an Odyssey Dual Force 660 blade putter (bought it used for $30 and put a new grip on it for $6).
  19. I'm rocking some $20 Dunlops I picked up at Academy. Working fine so far, although I may buy pair of insoles to replace the stock ones.
