Yeah, cuz nothing defines speed, strength, agility, and quickness like a 4 iron out of the rough...
-
They were defined as strength, speed, agility, quickness, etc. Look back a couple posts...

I disagree that golf has those things. Yes, I did say golf was a sport. I said it was "difficult" for me to call it that, but I do think it is a sport. NO, Chuck was not fat. He was strong. He didn't use his big ass, he used his superior strength, jumping ability and quickness. Every player he was banging around with under the basket had a fatter ass than he did - they were all 6-10 inches taller and outweighed him by 50+ lbs. He is 6'4" for gosh sakes. He was a phenomenal athlete. He could also make plays, shoot, handle the ball and defend any position on the floor. This is a fat ass?

In the Finals and looking good...

It does depend on how you define athleticism. I define it with strength, speed, agility, quickness, etc. I agree many other sports have "fat" guys - baseball especially. Baseball is another sport that you don't have to be a great athlete (by my definition) to play. But, come on, Barkley. He was NOT fat in his playing days. He was arguably one of the greatest athletes and quickest jumpers ever to play. He was an athlete. No question. The only "non-athletic" guys you find on a basketball floor are a few 7 footers. I'm sure handicap, or being very good at golf, effects people's opinions here. I also think people who excelled at other 'more physically demanding' sports have a very different opinion on it. When you look at Luke Donald (or Rory or Bubba or Phil or anyone with maybe the exception of Tiger) compared to LeBron James or Calvin Johnson, I don't think they are in the same stratosphere in terms of athleticism. I am not questioning the skill and ability it takes to be a great golfer. I'm just saying it is very different than what I consider "athletic".

It's tough for me to consider it a sport when athleticism has little or nothing to do with success. I guess technically it is a sport, but one I don't have a lot of respect for as it relates to others.

eBay sellers offering to order clubs
Gresh24 replied to jtgolfer's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
ebay is a great place to get clubs. But I have only saved hundreds... -
I think he has changed his to Man Boobs...

Yes, there is a chance this is, at least in part, made up.
-
Most people I know do too. But some people don't. Seems like more and more all the time...
-
But, do you wear those just for golf? Probably not. You can wear them other times. A person that otherwise never wears anything like that would be more inconvenienced and be out more $$.

Unless your 15... and it cost you nothing...

Polos and khakis are like tuxes to some people. They aren't just leaving their "nice" clothes in their closet...

I agree the Nike's aren't the answer now, but I would say the Adams a7OS are exactly what a player that can't break 100 should be playing, unless the OP just really doesn't like them. I wouldn't recommend buying any different clubs at this point. The a&OS; are a very nice set that should work for some time.

Yes, this. Obviously some 'part time' dads don't have any idea, or care, what is involved. My gosh, I know divorced dads that spend more time with their kids than what some on here possibly could be. I guess we have no nutsack Chris, and don't know how to just order the squaw to do everything.

Excuses not to play golf? That's hilarious. Some people's priorities amaze me. I can afford to play golf every day if I wanted to. I choose not to. I have respect for my wife and actually want to be with her and my children. Pathetic, I know....

No, some forclosures were caused by people with the ability to pay the loan back just walking away due to the drop in value. Technically, the ceasing of payments are the ultimate reason, but the actual causes vary.
-
Banks can't just stop lending in certain areas or due to market risk. Goes against fair lending. The consumer took the same risk in the purchase and market. They are the ones that agreed to pay it back. I do agree that the 100% loans were a huge mistake by lenders. But don't believe everything you read. It is the borrowers (in)ability to pay, not the (real estate) market, that caused all the bulk of the for closures. There are plenty of people that put 20% down and still lost their homes. I work in lending. Don't get me wrong, a lot of brokers set up people to fail with crazy loans, outside of the 100% financing. But most for closures are still due to divorces, job loss, etc.

Of course it depends on who you marry. If you don't have a healthy relationship and don't know how they really feel, you're gonna have problems. There is a big gap between getting everything you want and 'giving up your nutsack'. Sounds like some guys still expect June Cleaver...

Has it been confirmed yet that this Patrick?

^^ This. I think too many are getting caught up with the literal term of "asking permission". I think most agree (at least I hope) that, when you are married, you are in a partnership and you share your life, especially with children involved. It is simply common courtesy to "ask" or make sure it fits into schedules before doing anything. I usually phrase it "Do you care if I .....", whether its golf, basketball, or an occasional night with buddies. She extends the same courtesy. Sometimes it doesn't work out and I can't do what I want. So, technically, I "don't get permission". You have to "ask permission" in some fashion. I guess for all you guys clamoring about 'being a man' and doing what you want, if you extend the same to your wives, that's fine. I didn't know there were women out there willing to live like it was 1948.

Who's fault is the market? The banks math can be all good, but when values drop 30%... And there is no note and security agreement that includes returning the home or collateral in good order. The agreement is for the repayment of the money borrowed. A very small percentage of forclosures happen because of "bank screw ups".

If your wife wants you out of the house 4 times per week while having kids at home, you must be unbearable to live with, or she has a visitor over while you're gone... I would never want to be away from my kids 2 or 3 nights per week and 8-10 hours on the weekends or however 4+ rounds works out, early AM or not. My kids are awake by 7AM every day. Whether your wife will put up with it or not, being a good father does not include working full time and playing 4+ rounds of golf per week.
