  1. My Garmin GolfLogix also stays on the same number after briefly fluctuating a yard or two. Sounds like the OP got some BS customer service. Glad I didn't get an iGolf.
  2. Couldn't be happier with my Callaways. Didn't try the X-20s but I don't know what I would change about the Big Berthas. Definitely game improvement irons.
  3. 320 with my previous Callaway X460 driver. Not sure what I did different and not sure how much roll because I couldn't see where it landed. It was a fairly flat fairway though. With my current (just added within the last month) HiBore XL driver, my longest is 300. That is with about 30 yards of roll down a gradual slope. I've been carrying this driver 270 on average and consistently much straighter than the X460. My mechanics are improving but the HiBore XL is also far more forgiving than the X460 was.
  4. Hello. I've just been jumped. Signed, The Gun
  5. Unless you are wanting to change brands, I'd consider a Cleveland HiBore XL. I've found it to be very forgiving. Most reviews, including the review on The SandTrap , agree.
  6. Another vote for the Titleist DT SoLo and the Bridgestone e6. Although I have a faster swing speed than most using those balls, they are still my favorites. The reduced spin helps off the tee and they both have enough feel around the greens to stop fairly quickly. I'm currently playing the Bridgestone e6. Those two are the best I've found (at least for me) in the $20-$25 range.
  7. I had not read anything about one plane or two plane swings before, but this post explains a lot. Last year, without lessons I was definitely using a one plane approach. This year, with lessons, according to what I read above, I am now using a two plane swing. So far so good and the consistency keeps improving.
  8. Two pairs at the moment but I will be throwing away my old ones. Old ones are FJ Green Joys that I essentially wore out in a year and a half of play. At less than $50, they were great beginners shoes. I got my Adidas Powerbands 6-8 weeks ago and have been walking courses in them. Very comfortable and stable. All I could ask for in a golf shoe.
  9. Ernie Els. I'm a little bigger but very similar build. I watch his swing every chance I get.
  10. PW from my set. It is 45*. Now that I've added a 50* gap wedge, the PW is only for full shots and some knockdown shots.
  11. The Adams Idea Pro Hybrid was the choice for me. I was hooking my previous hybrids (Callaway) and wanted something with no offset. Couldn't be happier with the Idea Pro. That said, I have not tried the Titleist. With a reputation of being "players clubs", I somehow feel like I have to earn a single digit handicap to even consider a Titleist. The Titleist name brand just psyches me out when it comes to clubs.
  12. Just had my first full day - a round of golf and an hour at the range - with my new Adams Idea Pro 3i. This club is going to be a keeper. A few warm-up swings and this club is as consistent as my 5 iron. Playing conservatively lately is what has lowered my hdcp from the low 20s to 17. I think this club will continue that trend.
  13. My courses don't have GPS but I carry a GolfLogix GPS unit from Garmin. I play a handful of courses regularly so I am not as familiar with any specific course as someone who plays the same course over 90% of the time. Yardage to the doglegs, front and clear of water hazards and bunkers, front, middle and back of greens. If you find yourself in the wrong fairway with trees blocking your view of the green, no problem.
  14. You probably have a better - or at least more consistent - swing than I do, but I was having the same problem with my previous hybrids. I just picked up an Adams Idea Pro Hybrid with no offset yesterday. First few swings with it still produced a strong draw / weak hook but after I got used to it, it was a straight easy swing for 200+. I used it to put one on the green from around 220 out today. From most of the reviews I read, the best hybrid choices with no offset are the Titleist 585H and the Adams Idea Pros.
  15. lb - track your hdcp here: http://golf.sports.yahoo.com/tracker May not be official but at least you'll know what it really is.
