  2. If he's any kind of golfer I'm sure he would love nothing more than to receive a brand new dozen or maybe even one of them fancy 18packs of shiny new Top-Flite balls...
  3. Congrats on making the team. I shot +3 and +4 for 9 holes during tryouts when I was a junior and didnt make the team. I tried out again senior year, +4 both days, didnt make the team. Unfortunately the team was that good, if i had been attending any other school in the area I would have been on the team because they all stunk. Still bitter, lol.
  4. High noon on a nice summer day you almost need to be wearing sunglasses when hitting the yellow srixons because they are so bright. That is a problem I do not mind though.
  5. Coincidence perhaps but since I started playing yellow srixons back in june, the amount of balls lost in the rough has gone down to almost zero. Now more than ever I'm having to replace golfballs because ive worn them out and not because they were lost in the rough.
  6. I hit a shot, while ball is still flying in the air i hear nice shot as the ball continues to slice or hook into the rough. I turn and say oh yeah, nice shot into the rough huh? Well it looked good when you hit it. Its like wait until the ball lands before you start telling people how nice their shot was. It annoys the hell out of me. My playing partner is guilty of this and does this to strangers we get paired up with too. Oh yeah the slow group ahead that holds you up whole after whole and every time you try to play through when you arrive to the next teebox they are just driving away in their carts. Oh so close.
  7. I am in California so playing in the heat is common. I have some of these mystical moisture wicking golf shirts and they work great, much cooler than cotton. I made the switch and wont look back, no more cotton! I dont sweat any less but they are much cooler than cotton that is for sure and the sweat does evaporate much much quicker. One thing I have noticed with these moisture wicking shirts, at the end of the day, they are in reality just 100% polyester shirts. I think that all the claims about special this or that is all marketing b.s. Kinda like sugar candies labeling themselves as fat free, yes obviously. I compared my $10 wal-mart polyester polos to expensive nike/adidas golf shirts etc and they were all just 100% polyester. So it just comes down to price vs name brand. I like the PGA Tour dry fit polos and they can found online for about $20.
  8. one is a 2 piece ball and the other is a 3 piece ball ad333 < trispeeds
  9. living in california has the perk of having perfect golf weather in the winter. In fact i play more golf in winter than in summer.
  10. It is real simple for me, I dont play titleist because everybody else plays them.
  11. Hey thanks for clearing that up for me guys. Much appreciated. +rep Makes perfect sense now. Sorry to hijack the thread a bit too, my bad
  12. Neat product, I like bears so I think the pandas are pretty cool.
  13. Ive switched to Srixons so Im throwing in a vote for the Srixon Ad333 also. Its a great ball and they are really affordable and they are on sale right now everywhere for like $12 a dozen for new in box. When you get better you can step up to Srixon trispeeds or Z-stars. IMO you should throw away all the Top Flight and Pinnacle balls, they are junk. Having said that, the golfer makes the ball, the ball doesnt make the golfer. You're getting free balls, worry about what youre playing when you get better. Anecdotal stuff, my buddy who ive never seen shoot under 100 only plays pro-vs or equivalent tour quality balls which are $45+ a dozen. He makes too much money and so he just buys the most expensive because of course the best is the most expensive. Meanwhile i'm playing used bought online balls and shooting 85.
  14. I am now more confused than ever about penalty strokes. Scenario #1 Par 4 1st shot...tee shot goes in the water 2nd shot...tee up again and hit fairway 3rd shot...land on the green 4th shot...sink putt Final Score 5 (I hit the ball 4 times and add 1 penalty stroke for water hazard) Scenario #2 Par 4 1st shot...tee shot goes OB 2nd shot...tee up again and hit fairway 3rd shot...land on the green 4th shot....sink putt Final Score 6 (I hit the ball 4 times and add 2 penalty strokes for OB) This is correct yes? Im not crazy right? Feel free to flame away for my lack of mental prowess
