Spent a Few Days with the Phantom Camera

This is totally awesome -
I built my recent clubs a 3/4 inch short than my last set. However I have achanged my swing so I can't really say that it's the shortend clubs. But I have been pushing the ball right consistently in fact my besh shots go Dead right. Is it possible that short clubs with a athletic position tilts the club loft toward the right? And would putting some length back in the club move that tilt back?

I didn't play before CrossFit, but I can tell the difference in my swing when I'm serious about my fitness.

This is a review of CrossFit and how it applies to golf. What is CrossFit? CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist. The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen. This is taken directly from the website. As a practical matter CrossFit is a place where you learn to push you self in a class atmosphere that provides motivation through competition. It also teaches you proper form for many exercises. This is not always true sadly there are a lot of places that don’t do the best job in coaching. However, there are a lot of great places to work out. You will get out what you put in. So I want to talk about two exercises that translate directly to the golf swing that apply to the two different swing styles in golf the 1-2-3 hitter and the 4-2-3 swinger. The thruster is a basically a front squat into an overhead press. The key to this lift is connection and allowing the big muscles to generate velocity and have the smaller muscles finish the movement. The snatch and the clean are also exercises that require development of the kinetic chain but also require only use of the big muscles to power the motion of the bar. CrossFit isn’t the only place you can learn these movement and other similar movements that strengthen hips and promote good economy of motion but the next place that you can access this information are weight rooms for college football teams. Check the video’s below for demos if these lifts. I am not an expert but I will answer any other questions I can. I hope this was helpful. This is a general overview if there are any specific questions I will do my best to answer them. -Carl

I have three wedges in the bag, 53 56 60 can I remove the 56 and keep the 60 or do I have to get a 58. This is to make room for another hybrid. -
and I have a 52 and a 60. Can pull the 53 degree and add a wood or hybrid? or do I have to buy a 54 and a 58.

Do Crossfit get powerful. Olylifts are best for power proprioception and quick changes in directing while maintaining balance.

Never mind it's a bad thing. It robs power and requires timing, the reason it kinda works sometimes is it prevents the uncocking of the wrists before the forearm turns over into impact. You get the same thing by cupping the right wrist.
-
So I have been having trouble lately unhinging the wrists a little early and/or not turning the club through impact. I have been messing around with hand starting positions and stumbled upon a little trick which should be completely incorrect form what I have earned so far but seems to be working. Basically I start at address with the shaft leaning slightly where my hands are inline with the ball. I hold that position into the top of the back swing and then let rip. this seems to encourage my right wrist to turn over through impact it all so has the effect of locking the wrist so unhinging is physically impossible if the fore arms remain in alignment. From the top the farther the left arm is stretch through the back swing the flatter the left wrist becomes and the down swing starts the left wrist is the gradually flattened and the turned over through impact. Would love to hear thoughts on this. If I could get some experimenters that would be cool too but I don't want to screw up anyone's swing.

I have a question regarding GI clubs and Players clubs. if you hit the ball in the center of the club face shouldn't both GI and players clubs shape the ball just fine?

didn't he win alot this year?

PureStrike 5 Simple Keys DVDs - Now Available
MbolicGolf replied to iacas's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I want to say thank you to Dave and Chuck for putting this together. I am working my way through the DVD and seeing where I'm not doing something correct. I find my self trying to understand the educated hands concept. To wit, my understanding is that the educated hands are the object of the swing, meaning the hands are where all the elements of a swing coalece to an action. I like the idea of Telling my hands where to go, I feel a little dumb but I am having a hard time wrapping my head around formulating a repeatable practice routine in order to educate my hands. Any tips Erik? Mike? -
