The right iron shaft for me?
Jack_2251 replied to LongballGer's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Haha, one, you don't swing at 145 MPH. Two, if your shots go left AND right, its your swing. It happens to everyone, sorry. -
Are Titleist Pro V-1's worth the price?
Jack_2251 replied to Alex1's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Well I personally do not think we need Pro-V1's on any greens, except for extremely fast hard ones. I use DT Carry's at the moment, and I play off a AGU 6 handicap. -
Which ball do you use? or prefer?
Jack_2251 replied to Robiola the Monster's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Yeah, I completely agree! Tour Ix is great too. -
I didn't improve for ages and got stuck on 10, 11 and 12, and took about 2 months to get from 10 to 9, but just recently, I came from 8.4 to 7.2 in 3 games!

Nice! I just got a new putter, 60 year old Jene Littler Bullseye out of the garage, had 29 putts with it today best I've ever putted, haha.

My most impressive was parring 6, birdieing 7, then parring the next 11 (to shoot 6 over lol)

Man, the American HCP is way different to our system. Our system only works on comp rounds, and stableford is like stroke, except you stop playing when you score more than 1 over your handicap for the hole. And you wouldn't normally play for a wager if you were playing with a random in a comp... They aren't really that social.

Mizuno MP 57 Review and Bridgestone J33 Review
Jack_2251 replied to Teedub7's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
WTF, they should never sting when you hit it well like you said you did with the J33 irons, no irons sting when hit perfect no matter what they are. -
Take a look at where my home club will be soon. Amazing course I love it www.magentagolf.com.au/course

Video - What's wrong with my swing?
Jack_2251 replied to Rojo0416's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Close your shoulders, they are wayy open, causing you to come over the top and hit cuts or straight pulls. -
Confidence Killer : Do you get these too?
Jack_2251 replied to JYB's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I get those sort of things when I'm playing with kids, and I'm playing really well, and they go: How many over are you? and I go: 2 over. And they go: Holy C**P, your playing shithouse! And then I wreck that round. And also when I think I have fixed my swing and someone says to me what happened to the first poster. Like: Your head is dipping again... -
I am using this at the moment and making yardage books for all the courses I am planning on playing soon but haven't played yet. Great idea it works perfect!

I have had 4 if an eagle counts as a birdie. I was playing bad about 9 over after 14, but then finished: 15: Driver to 130 out, 8i 7ft BIRDIE 16: 3 wood to 80 out, SW to 12 ft BIRDIE 17:Driver to 220 out, 3 wood to 15cm (literally, I measured it) EAGLE 18: Driver onto 275m green, 2 putts BIRDIE All distances in metres. It was my first eagle in a comp round :D

Yeah, I know of some of them within general area, but I meant like close as in 30 mins. And I have played Belmont, it is a great course to but I didn't really classify it as full links. Also, I've heard that NSW and St Michaels are both very expensive.

The only problem would be, that when you moved back to Germany, you will probably go back up to what you were off anyway, and also, you may not feel as satisfied doing it in that way, the easy way out. But I do agree, it is almost impossible to get down to scratch with the system Germany uses, which is the same as Aus.
-
LOL, I thought our system was already hard enough with the rating system, and yours makes it even harder!

My favourite style is links, although I have only played at one real links in my short golf career. There aren't many of them where I live. Magenta Shores, NSW, Aus. What an amazing course, it has only just been made and is up with the top courses of my country. www.magentagolf.com.au

Yeah, thats what I always thought too. I've also heard that they can put social rounds towards their handicap, which in Australia we can't. You have to play in the comp (on usually around 2-4 times p/week), and there is a certain amount you lose or get back with how well you shoot. For 25>32 hcp- Lose .4 p/shot under hcap, get .1 back when over 4 shot buffer zone. 13>25- Lose .3 p/shot under hcap, get .1 back when over 3 shot buffer. 4>13- Lose .2 p/shot under hcap, get .1 back when over 1 shot buffer.

I don't really understand the american handicapping system, but my average score for the past month is 6 over par, although my handicap is 8.
-
Yep, thats right, I am in that exact position. Although I hate my 3-wood 1) reg shaft and 2) I can only hit it from perfect lies. My distances for tee shots are: 3 wood: 205m hybrid: 195m 3i: 185m and my hybrid is way more accurate.

I am getting a new lob wedge, and am getting a Vokey SM58.08 Oil can. I am also thinking of getting a 50.08 Oil can, which would make my setup: 47, 50, 54, 58. Would this be a good set up for me? I want to do this because I hate hitting hard wedges, and when I get that 80-90 metre shot I just cringe because I have no shot, as my 54 goes about 70-80 metres. It is especially bad when the ball has to fly something and stop quickly. I would take out my 3 wood, as I hardly ever use it anyway.

I am getting a new lob wedge, and am looking at callaway as they look very nice and I like my brother X tour. I have noticed that callaway has brought out new X forged wedges, but are still selling their X tours. I was wondering what the difference between the C grind (what does it do?) or the PM grind (what does it do?) soles are, and if anyone on here is using them and can give me some help on this. Thanks :D

What shaft to decrease backspin?
Jack_2251 replied to atrapasuenos's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I find that the 905R launches the ball very high with my 9.5 with a stiff prolaunch blue, but I have also tried a 8.5 with the same shaft and found that it does not fly as high and looks like it is going longer, but ends up about 5-10 metres shorter. I think the higher launch angle and less roll looks like it is loosing distance but it actually doesn't, and you also gain accuracy, in the air and when it hits the fairway!
