Pitching Wedge is 48.5 degrees as well as 54.10 and 60.04 vokey spin milled

Vokey SM Tour Satin 54.10 and 60.04. My pitching wedge is Ping Eye2+ 48.5 degrees and I don't plan on changing any of them for a good while

It varies. Normally progressively further back from Driver to short irons but lately after getting advice from my local pro I have been hitting my 7 iron - wedge from forward in my stance and moving my weight to my front leg at address and using a three quarter swing and focusing on my release. I think this is quite similar to the "stack and tilt" idea but it has almost eliminated my tendency to hit it "fat" and I am getting very consistent distance and have certainly improved my accuracy around the greens.

New Bridgestone e series balls
23Rounder replied to cemeb4dk's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
My understanding is that the e5+ will have a slightly higher ball flight and slightly more carry distance and spin than the e5. The e6+ should spin less on drives so travel straighter than the e6. The changes appear to be very similar to changes from the NXT Tour to the "New NXT Tour" and NXT to the "NXT Extreme" that Titleist made. I haven't played the + version yet but the e5 and e6 are both very good balls -
14 as per signature. I often wonder though if I took 5 or 6 clubs out for a month whether my scoring would get worse. I am not so sure it would but think it would help me imcrease the number of options I have (flight, bump and run etc) with each shot and may lower my scores after I put them back in. What does everyone else think?

By my count Tiger already plays 9 European Tour events. (4 Majors, 4 WGC Events, Dubai Desert Classic) To get to 11 he would only have to play one more event plus compete in the "Race to Dubai" so surely he would when you consider his course design business is kicking off in Dubai. Has a golfer ever won both the European Tour order of merit as well as topped the US Tour money list?

Two very good hits and I would be 10-50m short. Most likely I would lay up as I have never reached a Par5 over 500 yards in 2 shots.

How many clubs do you actually get to use in your games?
23Rounder replied to Island Par's topic in Golf Talk
Driver - 8-12 times per round depending on course and tee positions. 3 Wood - 3-6 times per round depending on tee positions and quality of lie for 2nd shot on Par 5's. 5 wood - 2-3 times per round. Normally 190 - 200m par 3's 3 Iron - depends on par3 length or I use to punch out of trees 4 Iron - Rarely - possibly on Par3's depending on length 5 Iron - Rarely for full shots into green but often to lay up on Par5's 6 Iron - 3-4 times per rounds into above average length par 4's 7 Iron - 2-3 8- Iron - 3-4 approach shots 9 - Iron - Rarely seem to have the required distance W - 10-14 - Use a lot around greens and from 110m -70m in 54 - unfortunately normally see a bit of sand and also from 70m to 20m in 60 - As little as possible unless I badly short-side myself as when I overuse it I get very bad results Putter - More times than I would like to mention -
I try to only change my ball when I lose it which unfortunately happens about once a round.

As Queensland doesn't have daylight saving we got to see the masters finish. It was great to watch and there was some great scrambling by Chopra for the first 3 holes and Baddeley on the final playoff hole. In Channel 7's defence, golf is not the most popular sport in the country and it was the first major news bulletin after the federal election results were finalised. I would have been upset with the decision as well but they did show a lot of hours of great coverage over the four days. I actually think Australia golf is in a great state with more top quality players then I can remember. Sure, we don't have a Greg Norman but as Allenby said in his interview there is only 4 or 5 golfers in the last 50 years with as high a profile. Personally is doesn't bother me is most of Americans don't travel to Australia to play and I would rather the money go towards prize money and extra tournaments than appearance money for overrated players. (Obviously Tiger is not overrated but 4Million appearance money is a joke)

An Albatross is more difficult but not having had either I would certainly settle for an ace!

My problem is not that I lack a good, short, mid or long game but the fact that one is always ordinary even if the others are going well.

PING Enthusiasts - Best Iron PING Ever Made?
23Rounder replied to thumper07's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Eye2+ for me, I bought them 2nd hand after self-fitting with the web static fit and I don't plan on changing for a long time -
How many balls do you lose in an average round?
23Rounder replied to cbe_golfer's topic in Golf Talk
The most I have ever lost is 13. If I took 10 rounds and took away the 2 highest and 2 lowest number of balls lost my average would probably be 2-3. The course I was a member at 7 years ago didn't have as many places to lose balls and I would often play with the same one for 2-3 rounds but my current course is very punishing on wayward shots. -
What make of grips do you use?
23Rounder replied to PutterHead's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I had my irons re-gripped last week with Lamkin mid-size grips and I am enjoying them so far. My putter has the standard Odyssey grip and I have never changed a grip on a putter. Does anyone think it makes much difference? -
I play with a set of 1990 BeCu Eye2+'s and I am playing a lot better than I did with newer clubs.
-
FT-5 for me, although I bought the regular not tour version. I didn't think much of the 907D2 but thought the G10 was a great club when I hit it but not on a range only into a net with launch monitor.

I won't try and pretend that I haven't tried to the hit the 240y draw with my 3 wood many times in the past in similar situations but with my ability it generally leads to at least a double!! Hopefully I would lay up about 120 yards out and hit wedge into the green.

Finished my round about 4 hours ago and it was not good. I have a new highest score on an individual hole!! I had 15 on a par 3 (put 6 balls in the water). Somehow I can see the funny side.

They have been conceding some putts. That is the thing I love about matchplay. I have watched a match a few years back where every putt inside 5 feet was conceded until the final few holes and one of the players missed two 3 foot putts on the last two holes to lose the match. It is such a great format. Unfortunately being an Aussie, this President's Cup has not been quite so enjoyable for me.

How often does your swing repeat?
23Rounder replied to supercow's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Not nearly enough. I have my first lesson in 7 years in the next couple of weeks so hopefully a lot more regularly in the not too distant future! -
Which shaft do you use for your irons?
23Rounder replied to hypergolf's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Ping JZ's in my Eye2+'s, I have just recently got a 906F2 18 degree with YS-6 Stiff shaft and am very pleased with the lower flight I am getting so far but it has only been 2 weeks -
I always line up putts with the alignment mark on my balls which virtually all balls have on them these days. (Not normally as well defined as the new ProV's I will admit) I also always put unique markings on my balls to identify them. I can't beleive some people don't do this as you need to be able to identify your ball without lifting it or maybe you always hit it dead straight and know exactly where it is!

Which fairwaywoods do you use?
23Rounder replied to hypergolf's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have a launcher 13 and a 906f2 18 as per signature. I generally use the launcher off the tee when a need a more accurate drive on shorter holes. They are both great clubs and I would recommend them to anyone. I was actually trying to get a launcher 17 but found the 906f2 for a great price on eBay recently.
