  1. How often do each of you go to the range in a month, and how many buckets do you typically hit on one visit? What skills do you focus on while at the range?
  2. I never gamble on golf....I already lose too many balls, and there is no way I could win a bet.
  3. I tried to take a divot one time on a piece of carpet, bad idea. I strained my wrist pretty badly. I don't reccomend trying that on a mat at all. Find a nice piece of lawn in a public park somewhere and whack away with some whiffle balls so you don't lose any good balls.
  4. My Goals for 2007 Swing: I'd like to cure my horrible off and on slice, and get more consistency in my swing Handicap: Take 5 strokes off my best 9-hole score of 8 over. 10 strokes off my handicap. I've done it before, just not recently. Other: Learn to be more patient and stop trying to rush my shots. I need to work on my course management skills as well, and study up on the rules of golf.
  5. I'll have to agree with Shadow......I like the trees. They eat a lot of my slices, never to be seen again. But I still like 'em.
  6. I'd have to say Tiger Woods or John Daly, they had a huge influence in the new trend in golf moving from a game of finess to a game of power....
  7. I'm pretty stoked to play it. I probably won't purchase it, but I will at least rent it once. I play TW 2007 on PSP all the time, and I love it. What are the new features for 2008?
  8. I have a Ray Cook Custom Mallet that was my Grandfathers putter. It's from the early to mid 60's, and I have a $9 Golfmate putter.....I really want to get a 2-ball odyssey, does anyone have one for sale?
  9. I agree.......Even on a bad day at the course, that one perfect shot makes the whole day seem worth it. The one time you have a perfect birdie on a par three, or when you hole a shot out of the sand, or skip a ball off a water hazard. Just keep on whacking at it....
  10. Here in Oklahoma, most courses you won't need a tee time, others require one all the time. It's been my experience that the starters won't make you pair up with anyone against your will unless its extremely busy, or if you are playing by yourself. I've been asked by other players if I wanted to pair up, sometimes I do, sometimes I won't. And I'm pretty up front with them about my skill level beforehand. Also, I'll let them know in advance if I plan on playing two balls off the tee, which I do quite frequently.... www.golfnow.com is a great site for getting tee time reservations
  11. I have a hard time just making solid contact, and when I do it's usually a slice. I have had the worst time hitting that club. Of course, it's not the best hybrind on the market either.......and I'm not exactly a low handicapper either. I've hit it sweet a couple of times, and it really puts that ball out there, I get great distance with it.
  12. How did he introduce the product to Vijay Singh or any of the other pros? Did they just see it one day and buy one? Or was it a "right place, right time" kind of thing?
  13. I have a little chihuahua mix named Batman. He is marked just like a tiny rottweiler.
  14. I think back in the day before the switch to plastic, the metal spikes helped to aerate the greens?
  15. This is a good one, I just started playing about 2 months ago, after a 6 year hiatus after high school and a motorcycle wreck that crushed my left wrist. So my high score this year was a 117, and a muni. nine hole score of 8 over a couple of weeks ago. In high school my best was an 82. Ryan S.
  16. I usually drive around 280 to 300 on a straight drive. With roll I'm usually around 300 to 305. My longest drive I've ever measured was 307 in high school. I don't drive straight very often, so I'm usually about 265 to 275 with my slice.
  17. I'm not kidding you. I can't do it on the course to save my life, but I can do it all day long on the range. Heck, I can slice a ball 275+ easily. I'm 6'2" 299lbs. I put a lot on the ball. So color me BAD!
  18. Mike Weir please!!!! Photos attached! Could I get my screen-name in one corner, and maybe a Canadian flag in there somewhere? Thanks, Ryan S.
  19. I use a $17.50 driver I got from Academy Sports and Outdoors. I can hit 300+ yards with it, so I see no need for a more expensive driver.
  20. I use ADAMS GT500 Undercut - Widesole Irons. I like them just fine for my skill level, which is level "suck".
  21. My personal best is an 82.
  22. First the backstory......I used to play golf in high school. Not very well mind you, my best score ever was an 82 at a mediocre course. Anyways, after high school I never played again. I just picked golf up again this year. I do really, well at the driving range, solid contact, long straight drives (sometimes draw) 300+ yards without even swinging hard (I'm 6'2" 289lbs.). But on the course I can barely hit the ball to save my life. I skull it constantly, and off the tee I can never get the balll in play. I slice probably 95% of my tee shots OB. I lost 35 balls on a course on Sunday. It was embarrassing. I couldn't even finish the last 3 holes becuase I didn't have any balls left. I need help, and nobody can tell me anything. I can't afford lessons, and every time I get someone to help me at the range their like "Dude, you don't need help from me" because I hit great at the range. I'm totally lost..... Ryan S.
  23. I just club up and hit it soft......But that's probably why I suck at golf. it gets me on the green though.
  24. Oklahoma Home Educated Class of 2001!! woot!
