  1. Yeah that i think is what is causing me to lose a fair bit of distance on my other clubs...I havnt quite got the weight-transfer 100% as yet. But thats a whole other story. Perhaps i should start by perfecting that.. Your input is greatly appreciated.
  2. I honestly think that i lose no balls more often than i lose a ball. I am definitely not the best golfer with a handicap of 30, but im working on it just like the rest of us :P I think that the main reason is since my home course has pretty open fairways and whenever my ball strays, it's on the next fairway or over a fence and in the wide open. In this case i can just stroll over and get it. If the question was about penalty's, it would be a completely different story :P
  3. Hi again all. Obvioulsy im not the best golfer in the world with a 30 handicap but im trying... I have been constantly getting wayy to much height and a fair bit of grass with both my PW and SW. However, the grass as i have found is coming out from infront of the ball which as i am lead to believe, is a good thing. Now, at times i almost play a flop shot with my PW..It rises 30 or so Metres and drops down 15metres in front of me... I was wondering whether there was any tips out there that could help me out...I am losing a lot of distance because of this so am just looking to flatten it out a bit and hence gain the more distance.. I hope you understand.. Thanks in advance P.S. I have tried tilting the club forward a little to attempt to flatten out the loft of the club but without results. I think personally that my problem might lie in my swing. Perhaps it's too vertical and therefore im not getting to the full stage before contacting with the ball...My thoughts anyway..
  4. I use the interlocking grip. I was told that the overlapping grip was probably the best for me but i just couldn't get comfortable with it. I think that being comfortable is a big thing as well so went for the best of both worlds and interlocked. It just feels soo much more secure and wasnt uncomfortable at all in the first instance..
  5. I wear a glove partially for the blisters reason and also because i feel as though i have so much more control and power over the golf club with it on. I have noticed that most people take their glove off during putting, however i keep it on for the same reason. I know where you are coming from UGA, i have had much the same problem. I think my next step will be to buy a full cabretta leather one. Apparently they are really long-lasting.
  6. Thankyou for your time and knowledge. I think that my biggest problem is not transferring my weight to my front foot or even at all. I think i am far too much on my back foot which is causing me to chop at the ball and therefore get more grass than ball. I have been trying to transfer my weight but just cant seem to get it how i want it, perfect. Are there any drills that you people know that could help me with this transfer?
  7. I do it fairly often. The lower i go down the clubs, the more often it happens. Im not sure whether i try and scoop the ball up or something but i dont feel as though i am. The divot is fairly deep usually...I dig up the grasses roots
  8. Thats actually quite a good point and makes a lot of sense. I try not to just 'fire-away'. When i find myself doing it which is very rarely...I have a rest and do some putting or something just to take my mind off of it. That way, when i step back up to the range, im as fresh as when i started.
  9. When playing my first hole with each different club i use, i always try to have a few warm-up swings. With this, i never move on and strike my ball until i am getting consistent, 'good' amounts of grass contact. By good i dont mean digging divots but just a steady amount of contact. I am just wondering whether this is such a big deal after all. I mean, should i worry if i hit an 'airy' when im warming up? I was just interested as to what other's think and whether they do the same...
  10. Without a doubt the Siberian Husky. Most people i have talked to say they look evil but they are beautiful. Dont have one but am looking at getting one when i move into a larger area. Love my pets.
  11. Definitely have to go with Anna. Natalie has the rack but as a wife, you'll barely ever get that out anyway! Better off being able to admire Anna's all round good looks. Sandra Hubby is also gold. Love to see her with a golf club.
  12. I picked 25-49. At times my ball striking and technique is really, really good. And others, i couldn't connect with the ball properly if my life depended on it. Golf is a funny game. I think it really has a lot to do with your mindset.
  13. Fair enough. Thank you for the input. It will give me something to consider. As for Rynofskie...That works me we as well. At times i slow down my swing throughout my bag just to get the technique completely right and then begin to work my way up. It usually works on my driver with about 70% power i can hit a reasonably straight ball. It is really just trial and error i believe... Perhaps if i take a few different flex's of the SasQuatch driver down to the range and hit a few balls that could lead me to a decision. It cant hurt, im dieing for a new driver anyway.

    Hit by a ball!

I did the same thing hitting up onto the 17th green and almost hitting a guy on the 18th tee-off...I called "fore" as loud as i could and when i caught up to him apologised and he acused me of not calling "fore". I wasnt happy....Perhaps he should invest in a hearing aid... However, these things do happen....My 18th hole was shit Grr
  15. I was thinking of getting either the Nike Sasquatch Sumo or Ignite as you have there..How does that perform for you?

    Hit by a ball!

I remember one time just at our local Par 3 golf course, i was struck from a full shot. Luckily the person didn't play very often and it was a ground ball. Struck me in the leg. There was quite a large welt there for some time but it sooned disappeared... I have had quite a few close encounters but that was my only actual connection ball to skin.
  17. However fusioncal, i am starting to dig grass from behind the ball right up to the front. Sometimes the divots or 'holes' can be up to 15CM long..That cant be a good thing. Thankyou for the info green. I think come to think of it now that i can feel myself connceting with the ball on my back foot which in turn is making me scoop the ball as you say. Thankyou, i will try some different things and see how i go..
  18. Yeah that was my next step actually. Not necessarily changing my shaft but even getting a decent, Taylor-Made set of clubs. The clubs i have now were really just to see whether i liked the game and to see how long the hobby would last...
  19. A lot I have mainly tried David Leadbetter's drills to try and counter it along with a few old books which have been passed down to me. You name something and i'll be sure to let you know whether it worked/works
  20. Now, i know that this is a big problem in most 'beginners' games however mine varies. I only get slice off my Driver for starters. Now, when teeing off, it has got to the point where i allow for my slice to pull the ball back onto the fairway as i simply dont know what else to do. If i slow down my swing, it lessens but i lose about 20 or 30 yards in the process. I was just wondering whether there were anymore tips out there which i could try since i have tried practically everything in the book. Cheers.
  21. I am a mediocre player i suppose, usually hit around the 90's off the stick with about a 30 handicap. Lately i have been getting a lot of grass with my iron shots. From around a 5-iron right down to my SW. However, my balls are still travelling well and getting the intended flight but obviously this is minimising my distance. Is there any reason that you think this may be happening? Am i standing too close? Too far away. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

    Soccer?

Couldn't have put it any better myself. Love the Merseyside Red boys! Always have, always will. Pity that their form hasnt been too good in their last few games but that will pick up. Need a good win later in the week! Liverpool v Tottenham @ Anfield. COMEON YOU REDS!
  23. Im not the BEST golfer i'll say that now but i dont think that equipment makes a hell of a lot of difference at my level. I have had my clubs for only 3 and a bit weeks and went for a holiday up to the Northern Territory for a while. Silly me forgot my clubs however i hired a set. Now, these clubs were at least 15years old and the shafts rusted out and whatnot. The driver had about half of the face-height as my one at home and yet i hit one-stroke under my previous game back at home. I mean, sure it was a different course and all but yeah, they are my thoughts...
  24. http://www.gawlergolf.com.au/ Nice course for out in the 'sticks' as most people say. Well looked after, greens are fast and hard and fairviews short and quick. Can be hard to get your head around at times.
  25. Studying Law at TAFE SA at the moment, view and post mostly at home but there are times free at TAFE too..
