I replaced my 5W with a 2H about a year ago. For me the distance is about the same only because I hit the hybrid a little better than the 5W.
-
Ditto. Bought it, love it, very durable.

MP52s are probably the most forgiving in the MP line. You might also check out the MX200s. They are more forgiving than the MPs and they're also forged like the MPs.

How well do you hit your 5 iron?

what ball would suit my game?
Snake replied to jfrain2004's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Try THIS and then try that ball as well as similar balls from other manufacturers. -
what are your favorite michael jackson songs?
Snake replied to senorchipotle's topic in The Grill Room
I'm not much of a MJ fan, but I must admit that Off The Wall and Thriller are all time classic pop albums. He got too weird for me after that. The early Jackson 5 stuff is classic too in a bubblegum kind of way. -
Dogs, no question. I have owned several dogs over the years. I loved some of them like they were my children. I've never felt that same attachment to cats. Probably because cats seem aloof and independent, while dogs are more loyal and good natured.

The D2 Feel is not bad at all, IMO - esspecially for the price. I didn't like the D2 Straight as well. Srixon Soft Feel and AD333 and Pinnacle Platinum Feel are also pretty good inexpensive balls. And of course the Gamer - I haven't played it yet, but I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Ditto. But I've never ordered thru their amazon storefront, only directly from their wesite. I would call TGW and speak to someone instead of emailing them. That seems to make a difference in situations like this.

Centre Shafted Putter or Heel Shafted??
Snake replied to mazza78's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Supposedly, center shafted putters are best for straight strokes and heel shafted putters are best for arching strokes. But I think it really just comes down to personal preference and confidence (just like everything else in golf!). Use whatever style putter helps you sink more putts. -
Mizuno MX-950 or Callaway Big Bertha Fusion Irons?
Snake replied to sunchopper's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
A couple of years ago I was trying to decide between MX900s and Fusions (and a few others). In the end, the Mizunos just felt so much better than the others that it really wasn't a hard decision for me. I have heard good things about that ebay seller so you would probably be fine, but these days counterfeits are so good that sometimes legit sellers can't tell the difference. -
I would think the relatively soft insert on your putter probably levels the playing field a bit making a cheap Top Flite ball feel similar to a premium Titleist ball. Try the same experiment with a non-insert putter and see what your results are. Maybe the same, maybe completely different.
-
Walmart also does that with Titleist. They carry HP Tour, HP Distance, etc. Never seen those anywhere else. They used to carry Precept U Tri Tour (which is a GREAT ball, IMO) but recently stopped. I bought about 10 boxes when they were on clearance.

what is a good cheap scotty cameron?
Snake replied to sasquatcho69's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
No offense, but why would you want to buy any Cameron or Vokey just because someone else says it's good? Not every club is right for every golfer. There may be one specific Cameron model that works best for you. If you buy some other model because someone else says it's good and you can get it cheap, you're wasting your money IMO. You need to decide which model YOU like and then try to find a good deal for it. Just my 2¢ -
Is this a fake Scotty Cameron X5
Snake replied to Scotch021's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
It may have a real SC serial number, but it may not the right serial number for that putter. SC should be able to verify the model, age, original shaft, loft, lie, original purchase location, etc. If some of the specs don't match up with the serial number, then buyer beware. -
Thinking about lopping 1" off my driver, should I?
Snake replied to shades9323's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Why not just choke up an inch? -
Where are the TF Gamers?
Snake replied to coffeediver's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Walmart carries Gamers. At least the stores in my neck of the woods do. -
Best grips for hot and humid Florida summer?
Snake replied to elsito99's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Cord grips can be hard on your hands because they tend to be firmer and rougher than non-cord grips. But the GP New Decade grips are cord under your gloved hand and soft rubber under your other hand. I love 'em. Easy on the hands but don't slip in the Texas heat and humidity. -
Man, this is really surprising to me. I have bought several things from 3balls with no problems at all (although I think I bought direct from their website, not through ebay). That's one of the places I usually recommend if someone is looking for used clubs. I haven't bought anything from them in a while, so maybe they have recently taken a turn for the worse. I don't know...weird. Hope it works out for you.

Top-Flite?
Snake replied to Drive For Show Putt For Dough's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
If it's that old, I'm guessing it probably has a wound core making it more lively (for lack of a better word) than a solid core ball. -
Have you tried a Titleist DT Carry?
-
Assuming they have a QB who can get him the ball, Crabtree is going to be a BEAST! Who is the 49ers' QB anyway, Shawn Hill?
-
I'll give the Cowboys a "?" because 1) I don't know anything about most of the guys they drafted this year and 2) you can't judge a draft class until at least a year or two later anyway. But I will give their 2008 draft a B+. Felix Jones was outstanding before he got injured. Mike Jenkins was OK but needs to step up this year. Martellus Bennett was a solid second TE. Tashard Choice played very well late in the season while filling in for Barber and Jones. Orlando Scandrick did a nice job in the nickel. Erik Walden didn't make the team.

Personally, I think those things are BS. But alot of people swear by them. I used to work with a guy who was a believer in the benefits of magnets. I politely tried them, but didn't notice anything at all. I think it just comes down a placebo effect - if you feel like they help you, then they do; if you don't, then they don't.
