  1. This golfer doesn't annoy as much as he makes me giggle out loud at him on the practice green, guy with ear buds in listening to music while putting on the practice green.
  2. Congratulations! How much was the bar tab?
  3. My goal for 2013 would be to get out and practice more. I've had back problems and hope the new off season exercises will allow for it.
  4. So how would you handle this situation or your own situation should someone hit their approach shot to the green you are walking off of? I'd put the ball on a tee a go to the next tee box. If it happens again, I'd drive back to the foursome and introduce myself.
  5. It's amazing to me that Hunter Mahan had as many points as captain's pick Steve Stricker in this edition of the Ryder Cup. Stricker and Furyk were miserable.
  6. Come on U.S. Americans!!!
  7. I can't be the only person that watched the post golf coverage Thursday after the first round of the Tour championship where Brandel Chamblee went on and on about how Sean Foley has the top three ball strikers on the Tour in Tiger Woods, Hunter Mahan and Justin Rose, am I? It wasn't even 2 months ago when Brandel pounded the table and said, "Tiger needs to fire Sean Foley and call Butch Harmon, today." I don't mind if someone has a strong opinion about something, that's their job, but how can he swing 180 degrees and expect to be taken serious? Either Sean Foley is the down fall of Tiger Woods or he's the teacher with the best ball strikers on the PGA Tour, it's one or the other. I am neither a huge fan of either Tiger Woods OR Sean Foley, but was curious to see if any other sandtrappers call bullsh*t on Brandel Chamblee.
  8. They should stick with Red, White and Blue. It's REALLY hard to screw up that combination.
  9. I play most of my golf at Amelia River Golf Club in Amelia Island, FL. Check out the par 3, 17th hole.
  10. Originally posted by mvmac: Elk definitely has a swing we all should emulate. Sweetest swinger in the game. Plus great style.
  11. I was in Ohio last week visiting the wife's family and played Red Oaks Golf Course. On the par five 8th hole I hit my 3 wood right of the hole on my second shot and was told, "don't worry, the 9th tee box is over there." When we drove over there we found that my second shot hit a golfer on the foot that was standing on the 9th tee box. I apologized profusely, but was assured everything was OK. However, we were allowed to play through at the 10th tee. I made sure to tell the golfer I was fair game which got a chuckle because they were great sports about it. I felt terrible, but accidents happen.
  12. Scrambles mostly turn to Shambles and they are to raise money and hope you win a raffle prize. The pencil whipping I've seen in captain's choice tourneys here in Florida is astounding. Best tourney I've played recently was a progressive tee captain's choice. All players start on the white tees and when you birdie the hole you move back a tee and if you bogey the hole you move up. My group played the tips most of the round, but the winning score was 6 under, not 21 under. It was neat to see guys playing a 495 yard par 4 that usually play the gold tees. "So THIS is what it looks like from back here." was overheard a lot around the course.
  13. I play the ball down and into the hole, but if I got worked up every time a playing partner rolled it in the fairway and raked it in the hole I'd lose my mind. So I don't worry about them and play by the rules and everybody has a good time. At least you'll know your handicap is legit.
  14. Buckeyenut has the right idea. Show up as a single and you will find a group that can consider playing with again. It's like speed dating for golf buddies.
  15. Pretty much shorts year round here in Florida, but there are some rounds (few) in the beginning of the year that warrant pants.
  16. I've played Titleist ProV1s for about 10 years now and don't see myself changing anytime soon.
  17. NIKE cashed in the day Tiger chipped in the shot that tumbled in the back door in slow motion on 16 at Augusta, everything else is just a cherry on top for them.
  18. I replaced my 2 iron with a hybrid about 5 years ago and it's still the only one in the bag.
  19. I've always played Cleveland 588 wedges after taking my PING EYE wedges out of play. A lot of people feel grind and loft are important, and they are, but make sure you like how it looks behind the ball. Confidence is key to a solid short game.
  20. Didnt start the thread. I posted a response to the OP that was constructive, but at the same time doubting his ability. I was asked for proof that I could do it myself, so I made a video proving it. Then the flaming started. Go back and look at my first post, I was talking to the OP and even telling him distance does not even matter really. Sorry Darksun22, my post was direct to Jimbo Slice the originator of the thread. Oh, congrats on being the Golden Tee Champion on the World. Sounds cool.
  21. Don't hit the ball back at them, just put it up on a tee in the fairway. If they don't come and apologize it gets the point across.
  22. Tiger's first attempt didn't even sniff the top edge of that bunker.
  23. I think golfers in general stick to what works for them, unless they are the ones that buy the latest and greatest series or models every year.
  24. GPS, ball markers, blue Sharpie, Crown Royal miniatures and Red Man Golden Blend.
