  2. Thought I would look them up on eBay to see if they are selling, first post I saw and they are selling well, great. And cheap.
  3. I have the Callaway bag and it is nice. There is a lot of room to fit all sorts of things. The only issue I have is if someone has a similar or even bigger bag, they don't fit on the cart. They really get wedged in there and then it's harder to get in the pockets. But I love it.
  4. Had nothing but problems with the Upro and support (if you can call it that) was useless. I bought a garmin and love it.
  5. Dang it, didn't see Kevin Na in choice #2. If I can change, if not, no biggie. Padraig Harrington -6 Francesco Molinari -9 Tom Watson -8
  6. Padraig Harrington -6 Francesco Molinari -9 Kevin Na -8
  7. Very true, I agree. I'm glad you mentioned that. I went under the assumption that it isn't just shaft, but I feel a lot of golfers, especially higher hc like myself, overlook the fact of the shaft. That it must be the loft of the driver head. I found that a low spin ball helped me as well. I toyed with ball position and adjusting my swing, but the shaft was immediate. Not sure if it's a band-aid or a real solution but so far so good.
  8. I work in AA and live near there. What courses do you play? I may be interested.
  9. Just ordered one. Shipping was a little steep for a little plastic holder, but oh well I guess.
  10. An update on this discussion for me. I had a prolaunch blue 65 shaft with my driver and recently bought a Taylormade TP Aldila NV 75 shaft. The ball flight is like night and day. I live nearby a very good pro shop and they will fit shafts for $25. That's an option, I bought this and if it wasn't good I was going to get fitted. I am now a bigger believer that shaft is the biggest indicator of ball flight. Also, I bought alignment sticks like carpediem4300 said, which was interesting. I went to Home Depot and bout driveway markers for $1 each as opposed to real ones for $10 each and they are the exact same thing.
  11. Holy Moses, that was a rough looking swing. My favorite part was they didn't show the ball flight. Second being the way over-exaggerated aiming to the right and bringing it back left.
  12. Haha, you said in 19 words what I said in a 1,000. If anyone complains, they're an a-hole and you don't want to play with them to begin with.
  13. Whenever I go to work functions, I wear normal slacks and bring a change of shorts. If it's a country club, they have a locker room and you can change in 3 minutes. If not, you have a car and can't tell you how many times I've changed in my car this year (tinted windows and a minivan help). As far as being new, I think it's all been pretty much said. I'm far from good but if I play with people I haven't played with before, I tell them that I am better than a lot of people and a lot of people are better than me. That I'll hit some good shots, but some bad as well. I prefer to play better than I say, not the opposite. Pace isn't as big for me. If I know someone is newer, I'll cut them some slack. It's looking for balls that bugs me. Play your ball and your game, everyone was as good (bad) as you at some point. It's looking for a ball or two every hole that can get rough. Lastly, someone mentioned the self-deprecating jokes earlier. A couple are ok, but don't go overboard. It does turn to pity after a while. Make a couple of jokes and if you are playing really bad, halfway through the round and at the end, say I appreciate your patience today and I enjoyed playing with you. The worst (and this doesn't sound like you) are the ones who can't come within 50 yds of the fairway and say they used to hit it over 300 yds every time with a nice little draw.
  14. I have personally always loved the Olympics. It would be great to play, be part of the environment, etc. With no golf in 100 some years, it doesn't have the tradition like the Master's. I also think people are underestimating the field. In the top 50 (to 100), there are a lot of countries represented. Obviously the US and GB countries will be the favored. But you have Sweden, South Africa, Australia, Korea, Spain. It will be a fun interesting field. I don't think it will be the likes of a Masters, US Open, Open, PGA Championship. I also enjoy watching the European Tour and we'll get a chance to see some of them competing with the best.
  15. Couldn't have said it better.
  16. Last weekend he signed and gave a glove to the guy he beaned in the back. The guy was speechless. Tiger is by far my favorite player and would love something signed from him. However, I know he doesn't really do autographs and would never expect it. I respect that he is private and that adds a bit to his stigma. I would feel sorry for my kid but would expect it.
  17. Unfortunately, I am neither. These are all interesting games. With the exception of Bingo, Bango, Bongo, I haven't heard of them.
  18. I just looked that up, sounds interesting. I like it. Thanks.
  19. I did a search and didn't see much. I am heading up to Boyne (northern michigan) for 3 days. There are going to be 4 of us playing 36 a day. I know COD, which I don't really enjoy, but what other four person games are there to play throughout the round? I know it sounds crazy to just play and shoot for a good score, but might as well add more in there. I'm sure we'll do greenies and skins. One of the guys is an exceptional golfer, so hoping for something that levels the playing field. Thanks for the input.
  20. I'm trying to get out there this year. Maybe one last fall getaway.
  21. Played last weekend where it was slow. The group ahead of us were slow and there were three old men behind us. The old men would catch up to us on the tee and on a par 3, they told us to hit into them. Soon realized they weren't kidding when one of them offered to do it. Then again, I never saw a group yell, swear, and throw their clubs as much as them. Grumpy old men.

    Pet Peeves

I hate to resurrect such an old thread but didn't want to start a new one. I played last night and the threesome ahead of my wife and I were playing very slow. Not too big of a deal, we were taking our time and the last group out, so we were just enjoying it. It was when they were putting while laying on the green and shooting like billiards is when I started to get annoyed. A big pet peeve of mine is when there are people waiting for you to clear the green and they are writing their scores and talking about the hole. Finally get to #9, which is a par 3, they take a long time on it to begin with (which is ok) but then they start adding up the scores and sitting. I wish I was exaggerating, but it was at least 5 minutes from when they got in the cart until they left after my 3rd attempt to get them moving by yelling to them to clear the green. I wasn't rude, but be considerate of others.
  23. I can think of at least 4 threads in the last 24 hours where they have. Yet he doesn't have the time to post, but does so all day long. Easily the most ignorant, egotistical, selfish, I'm right you're wrong, douche I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. This is why I got off forums years back and thought I would give this a shot because it seemed good, but one person can ruin it for everyone. He talks about the dumbing down of America, he's the leader of the douching up of America.
  24. I third this as well. I think not enough people picture their shot and the lines involved, including in front of and behind the ball. I started doing a small waggle over the ball to help with my line. It helps me picture where everything should be.
  25. I would video my swing a lot more if I had this. I have a Samsung HD video recorder that I got for about $150 (not the $800 mentioned above) and have a tripod. However it would be more complicated and more of a nuisance to use that than my iphone ($99 now where near $800 mentioned above and it is very durable, dropped at least 50 - 100 times) and this product. I understand it isn't as high quality, but sometimes convenience beats quality. And the swing reader app for the iphone is pretty good as well.
