Do you think talking smack to “fellow competitors” during tournaments exists in the PGA as it does in the NBA? Or is it pretty much a "gentlemen's" game. I could understand it happens during practice rounds but during actual tourneys?

Maybe he did want to steal Phil's thunder. It’s all just gamesmanship at the highest level. This thread reminded me of practice rounds I was able to attend at the 2005 WGC at Harding Park. Camped out at the 1st hole, I was able to witness these two cross paths. Tiger headed into the clubhouse after his early round and Phil leaving towards the practice range. Tiger: With a dry grin - "Hello Phillip" - Not a "Hey Phil, how's it goin'? How ya been?" Not even a hand shake. Phil: With an even dryer glare - "Hello Eldrick" - Eldrick? Does anyone call him by that name? I don't even think his mother does. Kind of like what happens on a school playground when unfortunate middle names are revealed and used to torment. The small gallery got a good chuckle at this exchange. Animosities at their best.

Unfortunately, my trigger finger came back and instead of getting another cortisone injection, I opted for the minor procedure. It only took about 15 minutes w/ local anesthesia. Doc says it'll take about 2wks to a month to heal. It was annoying trying to grip a club, definitely worsening my ability to play. I'll post updates on recovery.

The Scenario: Casual round at your local muni w/ 3 other walk-on singles. At no particular hole, your foursome is dancing. You squat behind your marker to read your line while your partner lags his/her 25 footer nicely inside the leather. It's good but they tap in anyway for par. While doing so they accidentally step in your intended putting line. As they retrieve their ball from the hole and clear the way they notice their wrong doing and apologize for doing so. The Point: Accident or not, is it such a BAD thing if anyone from YOUR group steps in your line??? If you really think about it, the group(s) in front of yours probably stepped all over your line anyway. Right ?!?!?

Bullseye Putter: Anyone Here Use One?
dohn javid replied to mikelaw's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have a bunch of putters that I have collected through the years. All that might have once given me the confidence on the greens. "Flavors of the month" if you will. But, I've come to realize that this Bullseye putter belongs in my bag due to the simple look, great feed back and constant performance that I continue to have with it. Attachment 1571 -

San Mateo County - the peninsula -
So I went to have my finger checked and my Doc injected my finger w/ cortisone - ouch! He said in some cases, it could take up to 3 injections - at least 3 months apart from one another. If that didn't work I could have a very minor surgery performed... Luckily, the 1st shot seems to have done the trick. No more trigger finger

Try Harding Park. It's a bit pricey for a non-resident but it's the nicest of the munis.

I got to play KOOLAU. I was told to play the course, you should multiply your handicap by 2 and the product is how many balls you should have in the bag before you head out to the 1st tee. Luckily, I took my friend's advice! Shots just slightly off are basically in the jungle too deep to even bother looking. Bring a machete! "Hitting a provisional" and "Dropping 2, hitting 3" were the group's rally calls. I stopped counting strokes and started counting balls lost. Anyway, If you ever get out to Oahu, check it out. It's a beautiful course.

The golf games are fun. I also played a lot of Wii during the silly season, finally got a break in the weather to play a round and found it really screwed w/ my short game. I was leaving everything short, trying to finesse everything like you have to in the Wii games. Has any one played Guitar Hero or Rock Band? 2 very addicting games. cheers

Sun Mountain makes such great bags (Superlight 3.5) that Titleist contracts them to make theirs (10-20$ more - just for the Titleist stamp)

Eccos are a bit pricey but have to be some of the most comfortable shoes out there. Well worth the money. -

How about the best of both worlds. If you can get your hands on a set of Hogan FTX irons, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. E-8 are blades. 7-2 are cavity backed. I think Titleist and a few other brands came out w/ a similar set. Sets start out as blades with the scoring irons and gradually morph to a more forgiving cavity as they get longer, I think may be the answer to your predicament.

Tiger is amazing. Although, I wonder how many more tourneys Jack might have won w/ some of today's technology. Even w/ just some of today's balls.
