  1. Hopefully the attachment worked but I found a prototype picture of new Nike forged irons. And as far as Tiger, I found this site with alot of answers relating to his clubs... http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/lofive...p/t115733.html
  2. For the past few years, basketball has been boring. The only teams that were fun to watch were the Suns and the Mavericks because they ran. The basketball scores in the 70's...just sad. I think that had to attribute to the fact that you had alot of young players in the league who had yet to mature and learn how to play the NBA style. Now that they've matured a bit, basketball is starting to get a whole lot better. I hate the Pistons, let alone I hate everything about Detroit, so I was rooting for the Celtics all the way (plus im a huge fan of Allen and Garnett). I was also rooting for the Lakers because I just wanted something different than San Antonio (even though they're a good team). It's great to see the triangle offense run flawlessly again as it brings back memories of the good old Bulls days. With that, there's a great deal to see how these guys are going to match up: Derek Fisher vs Rajon Rondo veteran vs youth, speed vs tirckiness Edge: Fisher Kobe Bryant vs Ray Allen The MVP vs Jesus Shuttlesworth (He Got Game movie). You have two great shooters and it seems like even though Kobe is pretty much automatic, Ray Allen seems to be coming alive at the right time Edge: Bryant Lamar Odom vs Paul Pierce This is really even, but if Tayshawn Prince couldnt stop Pierce, then I dont think Odom is gonna fare much better. Pierce also has a huge chip on his shoulder as he is from the LA area and he's gonna prove that the local boy made good on goal Edge: Pierce Pau Gasol vs Kevin Garnett I think this is where the series is going to be determined. Kevin Garnett is all everything and for the past few years, when Gasol was on the Grizzlies, he was able to mess with Gasol's head. I think Gasol has alot to prove, but at the same time, Garnett is going to be a beast this series. Edge: Garnett Rony Turriaf vs Kendrick Perkins Perkins has more offensive game and is coming along great under the eye of Garnett. I expect him to continue the way he played vs Detroit as that was a huge confidence boost for him. Too bad Bynum is playing or else this would go to the Lakers Edge: Perkins Bench My pick here is that it's even. Sasha, Walton, Vladmir are gonna play pivitol roles, but so are Posey, Powe, and Cassell. Honestly, I think the benches are going to be even. My pick: Boston in 6 (barely). I think this entire series is going to be based on how Pau Gasol matches up with Kevin Garnett. If he can continue his play against Garnett the way he's played against Camby, Boozer, and Kurt Thomas, the Lakers are going to win. But i'm not banking on it. I think Garnett is going to all out like he did during his MVP year and really show what he's made of. I personally think he's going to shred Gasol apart, and anyone else the Lakers throw at him. He handled Rasheed Wallace and he's more athletic than Gasol, so i think Garnett is going to average 25-30 and 15 in the series...
  3. MY TRUTH Ok, i'm going add some "proofs" to my post so people don't start razzing me about my driving. On average, I drive the ball consistently between 275-290 yards. I've played about 6 times so far this year and four of the courses had the GPS in the car so i've tracked it using that and it's been pretty consistent. Now with that being said, as this will be my proof (along with the 2 people I was playing with), playing from the middle of the White Tee box, I drove the following two holes: St. Andrews, West Chicago, IL - Hole 1 http://www.standrewsgc.com/courses_l...holebyhole.asp St. Andrews, West Chicago, IL - Hole 12 http://www.standrewsgc.com/courses_l...yhole.asp?h=12 These are holes I drove. Now im not saying I drove every ball perfectly, but my worst drive was a 242 yard slice to the right (again, tracked it using the GPS). I've gotten into a habit of righting down my driving yardage and putting strokes as I play to track my progress. If anyone was wondering, i'm 6'2" and roughly 200 pounds and work out regularly. Now, I understand the skeptics out there who randish people outlight liars for posting their drives, but dont mix me up with those people. I can understand where people become skeptics because there are people out there who may believe they can drive it that far. My cousin claims he hit a hybrid 300 yards and I honestly just smiled and said, i'll believe it when i see it. By sheer physics alone, the his hybrid cannot in any way shape or form go that far. I say it politely. PEOPLE'S MISCONCEPTION I think where alot of people's misconception about their own abilities comes from the ability of a freak drive or that one time they made solid contact and actually drove a ball "X" amount of yards. What occurs next is people start going off saying they can drive the ball that far, and when it comes to the course and they're in front of you, they can't. Then they start off saying what the hell is going on today, i cant keep it straight for the life of me, etc etc etc. I don't think it's fair for anyone to sit here and call people out. Listen here...golf is a hard enough game as it stands today, and if someone chooses to claim something, I say let them claim it because it may give them the confidence needed just to head out and play. There's no need to turn anyone off. For everyone out there who has driven it near or above 300 yards, regardless if it was once or more than once, good for you!!! Practice more and it will get consistent for you, and dont be discouraged by anyone calling you out. For those calling out people, just leave them be. Worry about your own game, i'll worry about mine, and others will worry about theirs. With that being said, I hope more people keep on playing and pursuing this sick addiction we call golf

  5. I think that's because everyone on this forum, let alone everyone in the world, would love to swing like Tiger but know that our level of golf can't reach that level. If we're looking at swingers whose swing is actually attainable, then we're all gonna answer differently. If we dont have any limits, 100% of this forum would say Tiger. Tiger's the obvious answer but i think everyone on this forum wants to be unique, so we all took Tiger out of the equation, including me (I said Scott and Garcia)...
  6. I would have to say Adam Scott or Sergio Garcia... Both of they're swings look fluid and controlled
  7. Sorry, I left this out of the thread. I've been trying to go to a more nuetral grip but for the life of me, I cannot force my hand into that position. I get the club in my hand, set it down to the ball, getting it squared then grip my club nuetral but before I know it im so uncomfortable that my hand kind of has a mind of its own and starts to regrip itself to a strong position. It's beyond annoying. That's my biggest issue.
  8. Hey Everyone, Entering my fourth year playing, im shooting in the high 80's to low 90's, but I know I can get better and I honestly think everything has to do with my grip. I've been noticing that many golfers I come across and watching the pros (as well as reading from magazines) that the symbol on my glove is pointed at the target at address. Now im getting mixed instructions here because I dont know what's right. My symbol is nowhere near pointing the front as I believe, after doing much research, that I have a "strong" golf grip: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...icial%26sa%3DN Im not slicing as much anymore as I believe i've corrected that problem, but my big issue is aim. I can get the ball to go pretty far and in the general area, but I know I can cut a good 7-10 strokes off if I can figure out how to get the ball to generally go straight most of the time. Any help would be great!!! Thanks in advance...

    NBA Draft

Yeah, well the sixers are....oh god who are we kidding, the bulls are too damn frugal and slow, and they screwed up the following in order: 1.) Trading for Pau Gasol 2.) Trading for Kobe Bryant 3.) Aquiring Mike D'Antoni I'm so happy Ben Gordon turned down the extension last summer and if the Bulls give him that same extension offer, im gonna be PISSED. Same goes for Luol Deng, who's better than Gordon and has length and size, but he turned down 55 million cuz he thinks he deserves the max. What a load of #$*@!!! Yeah, Paxson and Reinsdorf could have gotten him for 20 million over 4 years and brought real excitement back to Chicago, but nope...they sat on their tails and watched him to NY. Cant hate...NY did what Chicago didnt. That doesnt mean i like the Knicks...far from it. The only blue and orange i like are the bears and they're falling towards a dismal state as well. Go Cubbies!!!

    NBA Draft

It's not that I like Brook Lopez as i'm not really a fan of alot of centers, but serviceable big men are hard to come by and this draft has very little quality big men to offer. I was watching a breakdown of ESPN's top board and outside of Michael Beasly, Brook Lopez is the next best big man in the draft. Now, everyone will argue with me that Kevin Love is a better prospect, and i agree, but something inside of me is telling me that Kevin Love is going to flame out fast in the pros. I think he's a dominant college player, but something just tells me that I dont think he's going to be big in the pros. I think he's another version of Nick Collison at most. Going back to Lopez, he's a legit center with good skills. He'll be serviceable and I think he'll be like Andrew Bogut, but just more athletic. The game is starting to become a bit more run and gun (THANK GOD!!!) and you need athletic big men who can run the floor. I think teams will realize that he's the only legit center that a developing team will need, and some team will trade up to get him. If not three, then not that far after. I guess its that old notion that you cant teach height. I agree that Eric Gordon is much better, as is Bayless and a slew of other players, but trends tell me that good big men dont come along often and teams will take a risk because the reward can be great. Alot of teams have decent centers that they rotate, but not alot teams have great centers that are the centerpiece, or one of hte center pieces to their teams.

    NBA Draft

Here's the order of I think are the top 5: 1.) Derek Rose 2.) Michael Beasly 3.) Brook Lopez 4.) OJ Mayo 5.) Jarred Bayless
  13. To look? If you remember, the UN sent investigators over to Iraq to search and they initially found nothing. Then, when Bush threatened of military action, the UN and Iraq agreed to allow US investigators to come into the country with UN officials to look. The US never gave an explanation, they just started bombing and this operation commenced, this "war", this bully fight. Label it what you'd like, but Bush had every intent of invading. I cannot recall which of his staff went in front of Congress under a sworn testimony and stated that after 9/11, Bush's aides were asking if the bombings linked up to Iraq, and to find a link (I believe it was general Richard Clarke). Let's also look at hindsight for a minute. Hell yes every single one of them voted for the war because our country just experienced a horrific and mind numbing attack, and government was out for revenge, retaliation, payback, etc. So hell yeah they all voted for it, but the public could see it was with a blind eye. I dont think anyone can argue with me when i say that all of congress had to stand behind the presidnets decision to bomb away because it presented a unified front of the United States of America, and if there was a sense of split decision or wavering, the world would have viewed the US in a completely different light (weaker, divided). Now in regards to pulling out the troops...you cant. In a revelation to everyone reading this post, i'm muslim and if i were congress, it would be hard to pull out the troops now. Of course they voted against it. Imagine you a construction worker and youre building a 70 foot sky scraper and simply lay in the foundation and the skeleton structure of the building and said "Ok, we're done, you can occupy it and finish it yourself." The residents would be in an uproar and not know where to begin. Well this is a country that's been invaded and if you're not living on mars, is being taking advantage of (yes, the oil reserves are now being pumped by private US companies). Unfortunately, the US cant withdraw. There has to be a transition to the UN or the people of Iraq to see this entire thing through, but who are we kidding. If we would have left Iraq, there probably wouldnt be a war, there'd be sanctions like every other country has. The little North Korean ruler (Kim) flat out threatened the US back then, while Saddam, at the time, denied having weapons and invited the UN and US to come search and test as they pleased (that was widely reported again by every major news channel). The countries road, bridges, social security, veterans, levies, schools would all have more money and our infrastructure would be better funded and supported. I find it funny with less than a year left that finally the President and his men finally are looking at social security and some domestic issues. His legacy for 6 straight years has been war on terror, and now, seemingly, in the past couple of months, the nation matters again. Im not an angry person nor am i bitter, but these are the facts. This is reality. These have been the countries actions for the past 6 years. And this is what's going on today... Fear is a beautiful thing and can win elections. This was true when it was written by the Daily Mirror in England after the elections in 2004, and it still stand true today: http://www.slate.com/id/2109242/ With that being said, and a bit of my mind being spoken, watch this drive http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3p9y_OEAdc
  14. Ur kidding right? No one here is saying it's all bush's fault, but if you sit here and say he's a good president and that the war on Iraq was justified (again, still no link between 9/11 and Iraq, yet HE still decided to invade the country), then you're smoking good gonja down there and in Georgia. Can't deny Saddam as was a horrible dictator, but you're going off on tangents that dont have anything to with this. I'll go on one too...where's the money to help N.O....oh that's right, it's in Iraq. Also, show us the video on CNN please (dont you think that if weapons were found, Bush would run on TV screaming to the world I TOLD YOU SO, I TOLD YOU SO!) Think about it logically for a second...he hasnt. The government hasnt. Every news channel include right-winged middle-eastern hating Fox News has reported they have no weapons. Please, show us the report and/or video from CNN...
  15. I'm gonna chime in and say that while everyone, regardless of how they feel, misses watching Tiger in the field because of that added challenge that he brings to the rest of the field. As if heading into the final day isnt challenging enough, everyone knows that more than likely he's going to mount a charge, so now you have to contend with the course, a pack of golfers trying to catch you, mother nature, the fans, the TV...but also Tiger. He's his own element of thought when you think about it. On the flip side, it's actually been pleasant because there have been other people to come to the front of the pack and we're getting to learn more about them now, like Sergio's resurgence, Anthony Kim, Paul Gouydos (nearly won the Players), and Ryuji Imada. We've been seeing more and more profiles of these players or up and coming or resurging because more time is being spent on their stories, which is great. I personally think the players are relieved to take a Tiger break not because they dont want to play against him (I think all of them do as they are all competitive and they want to play against the best), but just very simply because every other question for the past ten years has been about Tiger. Its nice that the focus is on the player or players in the moment...
  16. If it's last years model, I would tell you to pass on the Nike. This year's new model is so much better. I've read good things on the Nickent, but cant say that ive ever personally tried it...
  17. Am i the only one that plays TaylorMade? Everyone's either Mizuno or Callaway. I havent liked Callaway that much and they didnt come into play (but their new X Prototype forged iron is sick), so i tried out a slew of clubs and settled between the Mizuno MP-57, Titleist 735, and Taylonmade Rac TP MuscleBacks. They all felt similar in feel and playability. The Taylormade's looked sharper then the others. I couldnt pass up a deal i found where i got the clubs for 1/2 the price ($500) because the clubs were used twice. I bought them at a golfsmith where i inspected them beforehand and found 2 scratches on two of the clubs, while the rest of the clubs were in prestine condition. As an added bonus, the person before me upgraded the shafts to X100's and placed new Winn Grips on them. I couldnt pass them up. Brand new they're all similar in price, but i think i got a steal. And I love em too...great clubs...
  18. Winn Grips...I put them on my irons and i love them. They are really soft but grip really nice. The best way i can describe them is like a rubbery firm foam...
  19. Correct me if i'm wrong, but he stopped playing golf when the war started, with the key word being STOPPED. It appears his integrity and responsibility stopped about the same time when he decided to become a bully...sorry, my bad, proceed with fight (can't call it a war...it's one sided). For those of you who may argue, it's not a war on terror...Iraq is it's own entity, hence a bully fight. My point that i'm trying to make is that one does learn about integrity, responsibility, honesty, patience, understanding ones grounds, and doing what's right. With all due respect, if he didnt learn that in all the years he was playing golf, why would he start when he put down the golf stick? I got 100 bucks that says that he takes at least 6 mulligans per round...
  20. Really? White Castle? Seriously? It's under my favorite burger to hate, but favorite burger? The Harold and Kumar movie was funny, but i just cant see it on this list
  21. I've been all over the country to every major city and here are the three best places everyone has to try: 1.) Mr. Bartley's Burger Cottage (Cambridge, MA next to Harvard) 2.) In-N-Out (not gourmet, but good lord have mercy...order it Animal style!!!) 3.) Higgins Restaurant and Bar (Portland, Oregon) Mr. Bartley's is my favorite, hands down. I've eaten there 4 times and each time the food experience was awesome. The place itself is small and they pack you in like sardines, but that's the fun of it. In-N-Out speaks for itself...cheap, economical, but damn its good if not great for fast food. Higgins in portland is a small bar and if you get the chance, order their burger (it's a grounded sirlion steak with alot of herbs and spices...delicious!)... Bon Appetite :)
  22. Once so geeky, Tiger's college friends nicknamed him "Urkel." Source: http://www.oprah.com/tows/pastshows/...011008_b.jhtml
  23. Picked up a new Oddysey Sabertooth putter for a friends birthday gift. As for me, a month or so ago I picked up my wedges in my signature, which will probably be my last major purchase for a long time to come. 80% of the time, I just stop by to pick up new golf balls, like i am today (trying out the new Top Flite Gamer's)...
  24. It chipped ok. It rolled a bit more than i wanted, but then again, i didnt know what to expect with the ball because it was my first time out with it. I'm not a pro player. If im being fair, then ill say it hit well, rolled well, but chipped ok. Getting it to stop with the right amount of spin was more challenging than other balls, the 3 piece balls, but that was expected. Im going to really compare the two when i play sometime in the next week or two with Top Flite's Gamer and see the differences in both balls...
  25. Ooops sorry. I forgot about the scuffing question. No, the ball didnt scuff much or wear down on me during my round. One ball did as I was trying to hit down on a ball with a 54 degree wedge, but for the most part, they held up quite nicely.
