Completely empathize with you, I'm feeling almost as frustrated with my driver at the moment. Good luck!

When you're having trouble pushing the ball, what are some feels you work on?
-
Yeah, I remember years ago, Tiger talking about how it is actually an attribute, just like having power or anything else, to be able to practice so much without wearing down. This was during the year Vijay was winning everything and he was talking about why he can't practice as much as Vijay. I guess resilience is the attribute he was referencing.

Thanks, I feel like the lower flight is more accurate for me to, mainly with the driver and shorter clubs.
-
What is your ball flight looking like? What is your ideal ball flight? I should clarify, I meant the trajectory.

This is anecdotal, but I played with a guy today who had a perfect pendulum stroke. His tempo had almost a slight pause at the top and he was a wonderful putter. The thing that stood out was that he didn't strike me as a naturally gifted putter, he just developed a stroke that observed the rules Erik mentioned.

The Dan Plan - 10,000 Hours to Become a Pro Golfer (Dan McLaughlin)
pholmes replied to Jonnydanger81's topic in Golf Talk
When I read his round summaries he seems to be scrambling all the time. He makes a lot of putts for par and has to get up and down from pretty far away too much to be super consistent. He seems to hit too few fairways to be that consistent to me. -
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with a driver shaft that was too light. Besides being able to feel the club, does a really light shaft have any effect on distance or accuracy. I think they are designed to maximize swing speed, but do you lose distance if you are capable of swinging a heavier shaft at a similar speed

I agree with Saevel, but I would add that I consider the low back a part of the core, honestly far more important than the abs or obliques. I would guess someone that can deadlift twice their body weight would have a stronger far stronger core than someone who focuses mostly on abdominal and oblique exercises. Obviously, if you have existing back pain I'm not suggesting jumping into a deadlift program. I think stability and mobility in the low back needs to be maintained regularly also as Savael pointed out.

Strength and Depth of Field in Jack's Day and Tiger's Day
pholmes replied to Phil McGleno's topic in Tour Talk
I think something as simple as being able to travel so easily and comfortably must help give players that are traveling a better shot at winning events that would have been much more demanding 40 years ago. That probably brings more possible winners into the field each week. -
Yeah, I was, solid looking work! You may already do this but a good way to increase your pull ups is a pull up ladder. But, I think you may have mentioned that before.

Those additions to the circuit work look good.

Weight Forward and Secondary Axis Tilt
pholmes replied to iacas's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I'm late on this but it wa really helpful, exactly what I've been thinking about in my swing as far as not just plowing into the ground with no access tilt. I think my problem was not turning as much as lifting the club. -
Yeah, when I swing my hardest I try to get really loose and relaxed in my arms and shoulders, maybe my question is self evident? The better you are swinging the harder you can go at driver with confidence, how often do top tier players feel so comfortable. I almost never do, as I shouldn't feel comfortable, as I never practice and haven't earned it. I also think sequencing, like body working in synergy is what makes me hit it long and straight, and for me, that takes a lot of upkeep.

I only play about once a year, and today was it, so I don't have too much time to work on my swing. I've heard people say that they swing at the driver as if it were any other club in the bag. I realized today I could hit virtually every fairway swinging my driver at a super controlled speed(probably 75 percent). I also noticed I was about 45 yards behind my usual landing areas, but it was a very stress free way to play, and I lost no balls. Around hole 16 I realized that when I was playing well I could basically go at my driver full force, and be fairly accurate, so I felt like my plan of hitting fairways at the expense of distance was a product of not being comfortable with my swing and maybe I needed to rethink things. In your experience, how do good players walk that tight rope, how do good players, with time to maintain their swing, approach how hard they decide to go at their driver? If that's too vague, how hard do you go at your driver? Thanks in advance.

Erik and Mike have a video on the site that gives the cause of shanks and a solution that works right away.

Yeah, no doubt, I'm gonna keep fighting, thank you.

Agree with slice, if that happens again those people should be gone, the league can take over their team. I'm not thrilled with mine, but I won't ruin it for everyone else.
-
I hate to ruin the party, and I will battle to the end to keep the league fun, but I just hate my damn team. I don't feel proud of my team and would feel foolish talking any crap. I couldn't access the league until the draft was over and ended up with basically every player I would have set my team to not take, Rice, Pierce, L. miller, Andre Johnson( even though he hasn't been horrible), and Fred Davis. This isn't any kind of excuse at all and I do like the leagues parity. So, I will keep trying to pick up a tight end and a reliable running back and just for fun I'm gonna take you down next time I play you slice. I'm sure you're very intimidated, my team name is the Ravens by the way who also suck this year. Sorry for the bitter sounding rant and I hope everyone keeps playing well in all seriousness.

Thank you, I looked, I'm in. Good work.
