This was a great thread back in the day when it was about what's up with Phil... I guess I'm setting myself up to be called a Tiger fanatic (which I am, and which somehow means I must automatically despise Phil) but it seems like Phil's struggles have more to do with Phil's mechanics than his health issues. A lot of his missed opportunities have been inside 20 yards.

Let and let live. The Golden Rule. Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. ...oh wait....nevermind.....that would be just a little too Christ-like for far too many Christian Americans these days.

I don't know what's wrong with him but at this point he might be a serious liability on the Ryder Cup team.

17 Year Old looking for new clubs
ClayHbg replied to beasty340's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Mizuno JPX800. Believe me, you will not regret this purchase. You can get the HD version a with hybrid 3-4 iron, or the older edition that i have. These irons are unbelievable. -
Tiger Woods -9 Steve Stricker -7 Zach Johnson -7

Great point! I didn't even think about the limitations per country. So much for faster, higher, stronger.

Wedges: Why do so many bag a 52*, 56*, 60*?
ClayHbg replied to BrokeLoser's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I haven't read anyone hating on the 60s. It's a golf club and I've yet to see a golf club make a bad shot. My/our point is that a lot of "us" pick up the wrong club at the wrong time or pick up the right club and feel the need to play the wrong shot just because of the degree of the club. That all. Sure, bad shots occur with ever club in the bag but you have to admit, it happens a lot more often with the higher lofted clubs in the bag. I see hacks chipping with a 60-64* all the time when the same shot would be excuted much easier with their putter or 8 iron. -
No caddies? At first I thought thtat sounded pretty good but on second thought, that would only make it a NCAA championship. I think it will basically become a typical, match play style fifth major contested every four years on a brand new course that no one has ever seen or played before.

My Mizuno irons bent pretty strong so I choose to play a 49* GW instead of 3 wedges. I don't have enough shots in my bag to need three more lofted wedges. I've noticed a lot of mid to high handicappers bagging a 60* lately. More often than not they try to play an unecessary flop shot and end up skulling the ball into the woods. -
My top 3 prediction: 1. Seung-Yul Noh 2. Hunter Mahan 3. Vijay Singh

Bridgestone e6 or Srixon Q-star?
ClayHbg replied to lostmyballs's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Given those 2 choices I'd go with the Q-Star. But for the same price (if not less) you'd be better served by trying the Top Flite Gamers or even the Nike Vapor Blacks. -
Yes, and it's great! Follow me: claylambert (Pa)

I agree. The Gamers are great balls, but if you're truly a beginner I'd stick to the Mojos for this season and move to the Gamers as you start to figure things out.

What clubs do you rotate in and out of your bag?
ClayHbg replied to ApocG10's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I tend to switch out drivers more than anything. I have a Nike SQ Sumo 5000, Titleist 909D2, and a Nike VR Red Tour (all 10.5*). I've tried to "upgrade" from my Sumo twice now and can't seem to let it go, lol. Other than that I switch out my Titleist 904f 5 wood 19* and 585h 21* depending on how much time I expect to spend in the rough that particular day. -
Are you notified in some way if/when you've met the signature threshold?

AK has over $13 million in career earnings. His worst year was in '06 and he still won more than $300k. He won over $1 million last year! I think he's doing ok.

This thread is getting more and more comical to me. 99% of tour players understand exactly what anchoring the putter means and how it benefits the putting stroke. Only 'we' try to muddy the waters with ridiculous semantics. How the rules would be rewritten isn't an issue. The real issue is whether or not the R&A;/USGA want to ban the putters and who would be affected (ie. allowing players to grandfather in the putters they're already using, etc.).

Just as Steve Williams said "I’ve caddied for 33 years — 145 wins now — and that’s the best win I’ve ever had" after Adam Scott won the Bridgestone, now I'm waiting for him to claim Scott's debacle at The Open as the worst loss in his career.
