  1. I am just confused because OSU/FSU and Baylor aren't being discriminated against. FSU is #2, OSU #3, and Baylor #5. So it isn't like they are undefeated and being ranked #23.
  2. Please a video of your swing or trackman numbers and I'm sure you'll get some quality answers. Otherwise, most likely nobody is going to believe you and assume this is a troll.
  3. I don't understand this train of thought at all. Lets say we are playing a softball league. There is competition league and there is recreational league. In this example the competition league is very competitive and has a lot of great talent. Also, recreation league is full of beer bellied fat arses who play for more for drinking and being friends. If Team A wins the competition league and Team B wins recreational league, are they on the same page? No. Even though they may have the exact same skill level the opponents Team B faced weren't as tough and the competition wasn't as fierce. Why should Team B get to play in a weaker division with less talent and get to play for the league championship? What is the incentive for Team A to play harder competition? If there is none then teams would be better off going independent, playing weak schedules, and going undefeated all the time.
  4. Because their schedule is weak man, that is why. An SEC schedule is not weak. The best team Ohio State has played all year is Northwestern when they were #16. The PAC 12 and Big 12 have more competitive conferences than the Big 10 this year. I will use my favorite team, who are sucking this year, the Vols. They played 7 top 25 ranked teams this year. Baylor on the other hand has played one thus far. If they were both undefeated at this point in the year, who do you think would be more deserving of a higher ranking or praise? Also, at the end of the year, which team is most likely to be beat down and worn out? Playing ranked opponents week in and week out takes a toll and that is why strength of schedule is so important to me. Admittedly this year Alabama got the good end of the SEC schedule and theirs isn't as tough as their past championship runs. It is why if they get one loss they won't still be in the NC hunt like they may have been in years past.
  5. Why in the world did you not walk up to him and say: I'm not paying you to chat up your buddies or talk on the phone. If you want my business you need to do your job, if not I'll go elsewhere. I am simply amazed at how many people are willing to pay for shoddy customer service.
  6. Playing in the SEC doesn't hurt anyones recruiting. High school kids know that playing for the SEC will land them on T.V. and frequently. That is one of the biggest lures to playing in the SEC, other than tradition. They have their own network so if they aren't already on one of the main cable channels, then most likely they will still be on the SEC network. This means scouts not attending the game will still be able to see them on a frequent basis. Also, Mizz and A & M aren't national powerhouses. Mizz is having a good year in an admittledly down year for the SEC East, especially with Georgia having so many injuries, as well as Florida's QB being hurt. And as previously discussed, A & M has Manziel, who is arguably one of the best college football players ever. We'll see how A & M does without him over the next 5 years or so and see if they can continue to do as well as they have this year and last. Also, I am not sure where the argument keeps coming up that teams can't come into the SEC and be competetive. I am sure several teams could but that still doesn't change the fact that team for team the SEC has a better all around conference. Florida State could come play in the SEC and be very competetive but does that mean the ACC is as good as the SEC? No, it means FSU is good enough.
  7. Also I don't think my argument is weak at all. But really I could go on and on why I think pound for pound the SEC is the best conference. But it really isn't a winnable debate and everyone is obviously entitled to their own opinion.
  8. I think he meant that is left on their remaining eg season schedule golfingdad.
  9. Yes you are correct. Let me go down to my club and support my local pro who still teaches and believes the old ball flight laws.
  10. No, in fact I would say you are making my argument for me that even middle of the road SEC teams are really good and are capable of beating the best in the country. Most other conferences have 2 really good teams where as the SEC has 4-5. PAC 12: Oregon/Stanford BIG 12: Baylor/Maybe Texas BIG 10: Ohio State/Michigan State ACC: FSU/Clemson SEC: Bama/Missouri/Auburn/LSU/A&M;/Georgia (Prior to major injuries). I would argue that the top 4 sec teams and maybe Georgia would beat or compete against the top two in every other conference. Also, I think you are being a bit naieve if you think that Ohio State doesn't benefit from media bias as well. Also, Ohio State almost lost to Wisconsin (Winning by 1 TD) and only beat Northwestern by 10, a team that is 0-5 in the Big 10 so far. Do you think Ohio State is overhyped? Also, do you think Wisconson or Northwestern could beat A & M?
  11. You don't think Missouri and Texas A & M's recruiting hasn't been helped by them joining the SEC? And they are ranked because they have only lost one game in the SEC which has a lot of quality teams this year. Even Vanderbilt is doing well. Ohio States in conference schedule is a combined 13-28 this year. There are only two teams in the Big 10 worth talking about this year and that is Ohio State and Michigan State. And yet there are at least 4 teams in the SEC who could either beat them or it would be a really close game. (Missiouri. Bama, LSU, Auburn) and I think Texas A & M and Georgia would both give them solid games. Also, Texas A & M is in the middle of the SEC right now. They are only ranked third in the western division and are tied for 6th overall. Also, If it wasn't for Manziel, who is arguably one of the greatest college football players ever, A & M wouldn't even be that high.
  12. You have got to be kidding me, lol. There has been 8 teams ranked in the top 25 in the SEC this year. And most of them have only lost to other ranked teams in the SEC. There isn't a team Ohio State has played all year that would beat Alabama, Auburn, LSU, South Carolina, or Missouri. And if it weren't for injuries they wouldn't beat Georgia either. The only other that might even give a good game is Wisconsin.
  13. Don't think LSU will beat Bama. Not impossible, but I don't think it will happen. I just hope its FSU/Bama. Last thing I want to watch is Bama vs OSU again.
  14. Poor Oregon. Stanford gets em every time.
  15. I probably played a lot more baseball than most kids as well. I played travel ball and played 70 to 80 games a year when most normal leaguea were playing 15 to 20.
  16. It is funny this argument came up. I played football and baseball from youth through h.s. with baseball being my favorite. However I saw more serious injuries in baseball than I did in football.
  17. I would fall into the "about freakin time" category when I finally make a decent putt.
  18. When you are playing golf on the course I don't think they are advocating concentrating solely on keeping your head still. This is something that you continually work to improve in your lessons and range sessions. Do the drills on the range and play golf on the course. I think that if you consistently worked on keeping a "steady" head, not a "still" head you will find yourself rotating your shoulders more efficiently and striking the ball more consistently.
  19. Yes, you are right. But Alabama played a much better TN team than Oregon did, so that is why I consider it a bit more impressive.
  20. Edwin Watts does have demo clubs that you are allowed to use for a certain amount of time and it is free of charge as long as you return them by their time line. Other than that I don't know that they differed much from the others. Maybe more knowledgeable golf personnel in comparison to Dick's.
  21. I think this is true to an extent. The Manufacturer does set the price, however, I think some brands allow stores to run store specials where as others do not. I know PING is one that does not allow this. When I use rewards from the Dick's rewards card it specifically says I can't use them on PING equipment, but there are other brands that I can use them on.
  22. This. In Knoxville Edwin Watts is the last place I'll go for Golf stuff. I generally will go to Dick's for Golf equipment and Academy for golf apparel. The pricing was just always more expensive at Edwin Watts. The only thing I enjoyed at Edwin was a couple of guys who gave really good customer service.
  23. I would love to see really good deals on Golf Apparel. Often times polos and slacks, etc.. are ridiculously high. Would like to see some good BOGO free deals.
  24. This whole thread reminds me of what I hear people say when I get randomly grouped with people: "I don't hit the green in regulation often so I work really hard on my short game so I can get up & down for par." If you don't catch the irony in this statement, don't worry about it.
  25. Yes, I think FSU could beat us by more than 45. Alabama beat us 42-10 and it could have been much worse.
