I'm not a big fan of mats at all. I'll usually avoid them at all costs. Problem with a mat is if you hit behind the ball the club will still skip through and make ok contact. Hit behind it in the dirt and I think you know the problem. Practice in the grass. If you keep having problems tee the ball up just a bit. Knowing its off the ground you'll more than likely take away some of that fear of sticking the club behind it. Once you are consistently hitting it ok off the tee just drop it on the ground and go at it.

Welcome aboard. I know here in central ohio I can play courses all year long for under 40 bucks. Some are decent and some arent but the price is right for sure. We usually get out about every other weekend or so and play nicer courses around ohio. We usually try to keep in within a few hours drive but we always have a good time. If you're ever in central ohio and looking to play let me know. I'm always up for golf.

Sorry I almost forgot about Batch. I've got a couple of die hard steelers fans that I work with and I know they all wanted to go out and start as QB once Ben went down. They couldn't stand the back ups. I was really quite delighted to see them struggle though. Being an avid browns fan I could relate quite well. I think it really shows what a strong team they have to be where they are now compared to where they were mid season. It looked as if they wouldn't even make the playoffs and now they have a chance to be the champs. Its kind of like college football for me. If your team is out you want to see someone from your conference do well. Makes for a better schedule next year at least. Plus if they can pull it off it will hang one huge target on them for next year. You know the Browns and the Bengals would love to beat the champs. Should be a good rivalry next year.

Well being from ohio I absolutely hate to have to root for the steelers but I think they will come out on top. I think they will control the game as well. They will come out and get at least a 10 point lead and never give it up. Only way they lose this game is if big ben gets hurt then they are in trouble. We saw their season almost slip away when he was hurt. I don't think you'll find many steelers fans who are huge fans of maddox.

Been pretty decent here in Ohio too but no free golf around here. Our courses love to take advantage of these nice days and open up to take you money. Granted its cheap and I don't mind paying if I get to play in jan.

I have a bit of arc in my stroke but not much. Last summer I tried hard to keep the putter square all the through the stroke and just couldn't make it work for me. Most misses were pulled and I always felt too tense about trying to keep it square. The main thing that really helped me was to putt with a super light grip. That got me back to a slight arc and a nice release that gets the ball rolling nicely.

His accident was actually pretty early last year. I think end of jan. or beginning of feb. The accident was the week before the FBR Open where he played and finised second to Phil. He played almost 30 tournaments on the pga tour after that so I don't think were any injuries from that accident at least none that seemed to affect him late last year. Well I don't feel all that bad for him. He had the opportunity to make it right and play his last tournament. He knew the consequences and now it has cost him. If he wants to be the "global player" as he says then 10 tournaments in the US should be just fine. I like the guy but man that was a bonehead move for sure.

I watched the show and thought it was pretty good. I really couldn't tell if Vjay was kind of put off by having to play with Daly though. When he called Daly out on losing his passion for the game he seemed a little perterved at having to play with someone who didn't want to be out there playing. I do like getting to see these guys interact without having to put on a show though. I think if they keep up the show should be sucessful.

I liked Fred's comment to tiger better. I think it was near the end of the round after fred had to put the skirt on. Tiger left a putt short of the hole and Fred said " I still have that skirt in my bag if you need it" Maybe not the exact quote but it was on those lines. I loved it.

Depends on what you are looking for really. Do you want true game improvement irons, semi traditional look with game improvement options or more along the lines of the traditional looking blades. Also what price line are you looking at? There are so many options out there right now its hard to point someone in one diretction without a little more info.

Anyone ever hit the ping s59 irons? I've got a guy at work trying to sell a set at a resonable price and was thinking about giving them a try. They really don't look too bad compared to most pings. Any comments?

Well there are only a few private clubs in my area here. Most are not so exclusive that non members can not get on and play. There is one here in town that is open to the public on mondays. I think most private courses allow members to bring guests out to play but they may have to pay the greens fees. I think the membership I listed above allows you to take 5 guests over the year free of charge. Hey the only way they can get new members is to get them on the course.
