  1. Real estate and just about everything else is crazy expensive here but ....... we have days like last weekend.
  2. I think there are more than a few scratch golfers like Jeff Knox playing in private clubs who have the time and money to practice and play as much as they want. http://nolayingup.com/2014/04/12/jeff-knox-definitely-not-laying-up/ I know of a few guys at my club who are scratch golfers and who have the financial capacity to play and practice daily. One of the guys even told me that engages a sports psychologist that PGA pros use in Phoenix to help with his game.
  3. I apologize if this has already been posted. I have not read thru all 14 pages of replies. I would think that someone like Jeff Knox would perform just fine on the LPGA tour. He is the official "marker" for the Masters and has played with Jim Furyk, Craig Stadler, Sergio Garcia, Bubba Watson, Keegan Bradley, Miguel Jimenez, and most recently Rory McIlroy (who he beat by 1 stroke). The articles below have stated that he has a winning average of greater than 50% against the pros. Now he doesn't have the pressure of trying to win for a living and he is usually paired with the last golfer to make the cut but still he is playing against PGA pros on their tee box. Obviously he does not wilt under the pressure of playing in front of a large crowd as I expect that the crowds he faced while playing with Bubba or Rory on the Masters weekend would be larger than any faced by LPGA players. He has competed at various amateur tournaments at state levels so playing well at different courses other than his home course of Augusta National is not an issue. Augusta National is a reasonably hard course so he doesn't have an inflated handicap. http://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2013/apr/14/the-masters-jeff-knox http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/golf-devil-ball-golf/meet-jeff-knox--the-guy-with-the-greatest-job-in-golf--augusta-marker-155021216.html http://www.augusta.com/masters/story/masters/jeff-knox-gets-call-augusta-national-bullpen
  4. Frozen pond. Frozen bunker. Notice the two golf balls lying on top of the ice. Hope this makes up for my other posts.
  5. I gotta say I am certainly glad I don't live on the East side of the continent. I do kinda feel sorry for those guys. Oh well ......... it is sunny and 56 degrees outside. Going to play a few holes before sunset.
  6. Lihu if I am reading between the lines correctly I think RFKFREAK is saying that perhaps you and I should get in on a group session on sensitivity training.
  7. The 13th hole. One of the prettier holes at my club IMHO.
  8. Not 15 years old but 10 years old. I still play my Mizuno MX-23 that I bought in 2005.
  9. I would send you some picture but seeing as I am just a posting away from being banned ....... Look up the some yoga pants threads in the thechive.com
  10. Well that's a difficult one to answer and I hope not to get BANNED over this. The former CEO of Lulu kinda got fired over what I am about to say .......... Wearing yoga pants is a privilege and NOT a right. But when worn by the appropriate lady yeah they are sexy.
  11. You are absolutely right Bill. All three of our local ski hills (which are on the North Shore and within 15 minutes of downtown Vancouver) have absolutely zero snow and are closed for the season. Normally there would be skiing till the middle of April. The only mountain open is Whistler about 2 hours north of Vancouver. On the other hand its patio season at all the restaurants and the streets are filled with ladies are strutting around in their best Lululemon yoga pants (which originated from Vancouver BTW).
  12. My tongue was firmly affixed to my cheek also in my replies. Today it is sunny and 54 here. Unfortunately no golf for me as my ass is stapled to my office chair. Otherwise I'd be posting pictures of holes 5 and 10 today as they look great in the sunshine.
  13. He expressed concern that his "Tiger fist pump" celebration on the 3rd playoff hole after he sunk his putt and hope that it did not have any influence on Dustin missing his and he apologize for it. I would play for the US Rider's Cup team which would mean I have absolutely no chance of making the team ...... it would be like me slam dunking a basketball. Wow! What a breath of fresh air.
  14. She is a bit of a garage queen so I don't usually take her out in the winter if there is any salt on the roads. This year has been unseasonably warm and I only recall a week when the salt trucks have been out. Gentlemen I do sincerely apologize if I have gone over the top. I do realize that I may have gone over the top. In fact I think golf Karma smack me on the head yesterday ........ I had three shanks in the round! So I promise no more posting pictures of my course ......... unless you all want me to.
  15. Opps forgot to say sorry.
  16. Cloudy and fairly cool day compared to others this week. Only hit 56. Looking down 14th hole. Very rare that I can drive the summer car to golf in February. Already preparing for the LPGA coming to the club this summer.
  17. Is this better ......... sorry eh !
  18. Yea sorry about that ...... Yes you are definitely seeing the mower lines on the 13th green. They haven't cut the rough for a while so its getting a bit long. Supposed to get hotter tomorrow and Monday. Sorry ..........
  19. Sorry ..... but I think of this as inspiring you all to see what is underneath the white stuff. A couple of more weeks and it will all be good. 13th green Looking back to the 14th tee. 17th green. We hit 62 by noon. That was close to my score after the front 9.
  20. If he can get enough of the right members it will work. Super exclusive high end private golf course member don't pay monthly set dues like the poor masses that belong to normal country clubs. Instead the annual costs are added up at the end of the year and is divided by the number of members and that is what you owe.
  21. I play almost 100% of sand shots from green side bunkers with my 60 degree wedge.
  22. That's 60 yards LONGER than my driver. The only way I could hit my 4 iron a total of 280 yards is if I hit my driver at least 200 yards first !!!!!!!!!!
  23. Very sorry again ......... Looking back down towards the 5th tee box. Yes that is a rainbow.
  24. Very sorry in advance ............. Our idea of winter. Looking back up towards the first hole.
  25. Up here in Vancouver we can play almost all year round. For me the issue is not how long it will take to get my game back from the winter break but rather how long it will take for me to recover back from my winter handicap index. Our active season (for handicap posting) is from March 1 to Nov 15. Any scores posted during the non active season is still used in the calculation of a handicap during that off season but on March 1st those scores are excluded in the calculation of the active season handicap. My index at Nov 15th of last year was 12.7 (home course handicap of 15) and my current index is 9.5 (home course handicap of 11). So on March 1st I immediately go back to being a 12.7 index or 15 handicap. My last 5 scores were 85, 81, 85, 81, 84. Based on my active season handicap I would have shot net scores of 69, 66, 69, 66, 68. My handicap is very accurate as I always post every round and because my regular weekend group plays a money game we keep each other scores. As well most my playing partners regularly look over each other's handicaps. Looking forward to March for my weekend games.
