  1. Does anyone use an open stance and hit a small push-straight pattern as their stock shot?
  2. Lately I've had really good ball striking (for personal standards, at least) but I leave a lot of shots to the right, probably about 20 degrees or so from being straight. I feel as if I've been swinging in to out and getting weight forward, but I always leave the club face a bit open. I google searched for golfers that play with an open stance and came across this: http://golf-info-guide.com/golf-tips/the-golf-swing/try-trevinos-unorthodox-power-fade-swing/ Does anyone here play similar to this and/or have any luck?
  3. Driver - ~300 3w:~265 3h- ~235 3i: ~220 4i ~210 5i ~200 6i ~190 7i ~180 8i ~170 9i ~160 PW ~140 56 ~ 120 60 ~100 distance isn't my problem, sending the ball in the right direction is the issue..

  5. Was working on keeping my weight forward last week and noticed I looked pretty silly doing so. I stumbled across the secondary axis tilt vs. weight forward thread and realized i was shifting everything forward, so today I was trying to get my hips forward while keeping my upper body back a bit. Also was incorporating an in-out swing path. I was lining up using the alignment that james hirshfield suggested in the 5sk high draw driver video and was hitting literally the best drives of my life, so I went and played 18. I was hitting great tee shots until ~14th hole, then pushing and slicing returned.. I'm guessing my swing path must've slipped up. Anyway, I recorded a couple 5i swings. I'm looking to see if I'm getting my weight forward correctly and what else may jump out at you guys that looks incorrect (hopefully nothing..lol). Next time I'll try to film DTL to analyze my path also. Thanks Sidenote, I really like the point your batman signal to the sky tip. It's easy to follow and I think it helps a lot. I might not be doing it in these vids, I don't remember. Too many thoughts to try to put all of them into each swing.
  6. I have a PS4, pretty excited for a golf game but neither look exciting. Ian poulter is supposed to be the new TW for EA then..? boring. Should be Bubba/Adam Scott. That battleship course makes EA seem pretty desperate, stolen straight from their battlefield engine. I like to play with 'real' pros on 'real' courses so the golf club doesn't really grab my attention. Not to be a downer or anything lol. On a side note, I've been playing Watch Dogs a ton and would recommend it. Especially to anyone who likes GTA lol they're pretty similar

  9. Yeah, they are a great mass builder Haha, I'm sure if done literally they would be fatal. Maybe I should refer to them as lying tricep extensions...
  10. Shot a 91 at a tough 6400 yard par 72 today. Was just going to go the range, but made some adjustments and starting hitting straight monster shots with the driver so decided to play. All was well until ~14th hole, I pushed or sliced my last 3 drives of the day. Fell apart on last few holes.
  11. Not a big fan of deadlift myself, I usually avoid. Did back today, wide grip lat pulls, machine rows with higher grip, low db bent over rows, cg lat pulls, and back extensions.. then did some tri's since i missed them last week, skullcrushers, rope pushdowns, and overhead db extensions. did 4 sets of everything - 12,10,8,6 rep scheme, increasing weight each set
  12. 49-45 94. Was looking to follow up my last round (43) and shoot in the 80's, but my short game had other plans. Hit most of my pitch shots short of the green and sank one miraculous putt, but the others were awful. Tee shots and iron shots were nice though.
  13. I'd say Quick has that same ability. He might not be playing at the freakish level he was 2 years ago, but he's still a top 5 goalie and a clutch performer. I think LA is going to be too much for NY to handle, surprised NY made it this far honestly, but anything can happen. LA in 6 imo

  15. Thanks, Erik. I've been a lurking member here for almost a couple years, I don't post too often because I have a shortage of helpful advice lol. I have worked on shifting my weight left in the past but looks as I've reverted to baseball mechanics, I will work on that next, along with keeping the left wrist flat.
  16. 2014 season, same ol same ol. My short game has improved vastly, which helped me shoot an honest 7-over 43 yesterday. That may be my best 9-hole score ever. The course was short though, so I basically had tee shot then wedge on every par 4. My biggest problem remains driver/3 wood/long clubs off the tee. I still slice my driver daily, and my 3 wood is hit or miss. Here's a couple videos of 3 of my swings today, the first in full speed and the second in slow mo. First swing was DTL with a driver, was pull-fade. with strong emphasis on fade lol, started towards left of fairway and went 20 yards past the fairway to the right. Second was a 3wood, which actually went pretty straight. slight pull-fade, but ended being center. 3rd was with 3 hybrid and went about 30 yards into the pond in front of me. I've dissected these videos a little bit, and noticed with the driver that my swing appears to be out to in, which would be causing my slice. I also noticed on all swings that my right elbow position looks awkward and incorrect on the backswing, but i don't know where to start with fixing that. aside from those major problems, i really notice that my follow through looks like a baseball swing. I guess it's hard to ditch that habit after ~13 years of playing. I would really appreciate any tips to fix these errors or any other errors that you guys can spot. I should be able to fix the out to in path on my own with help from vids on this site, but I don't know where to start with other issues. Sorry for the length. Responses appreciated.
  17. Shot a 92 today which is solid for me, ever since I took the foot wedge out of my bag I've been shooting around 95-98 on average. Started off on fire (for me), at my home course bogeyed #1 but then nailed a 300-yard drive exactly where I wanted it, over the trees on a slight dog right par 4 to end up right in the middle of the fairway. Parred #2 (hardest hole on the course) and #3, then the bogeys started to rain down. From there, I either bogeyed or doubled every hole until 18, which I managed another par. Decent for me, but after the first 3 holes it was a little disappointing. I usually have a draw with my irons so I was usually aiming right side of the fairway or right side of the green, and I was hitting them all pretty straight with a few slight pushes to miss about 5 yards right of the green, which got old really quick but I never adjusted because I always assumed the draw was right around the corner.
  18. Lately I have been hitting all my irons with a straight-draw. About a month ago, I was hitting them the best I ever have but now a lot of my iron shots have a lower trajectory and a lot more spin on them. They are rolling about 10-20 yards on average in the fairway, which drives me insane because I land some well short of the green and they roll right over it. Most of this started when I started trying to fix my slice off the tee, I started trying to swing more in to out and get my wrists to turn over. Now, my driver is awful. 1 in 5-10 shots will be straight and with good distance, but most of my drives have a lot of spin on them and are like.. little line drives that dive down at 150yards or so and then roll for a while. Since the troubles with my driver I have teed off with my 3 wood a lot lately, and somehow hit a few push draws my last time out. They were beautiful, some of the best 3 wood shots I've ever hit, but unfortunately I wasn't aiming to do that. I was wondering if there are any adjustments I could do to change from hitting straight-draws to push-draws with irons? Also, if there are any tips to my driver situation, they would be greatly appreciated as well.
  19. DTL Driver and DTL 9i/6i. Driver has lots of problems, used to have massive slice now I have just about every other problem besides a slice with it. Occasional solid straight drive. Irons are usually pretty good but hitting a little thin and a little fat last few days, and pulling/pushing some. Really just not hitting very good at all right now. Shot a 102 yesterday. Worse than my 1st day of the year. Really looks like my follow through is short/compact, don't know what to do to make it where it should be. Any tips would be appreciated!
  20. There are a lot of ways you can hit a slice but the biggest things that have helped me stop slicing are to make sure your swing path is in-out and get your hips all the way through the ball. I kind of tucked my right elbow into my side on the backswing to exaggerate making an in-out path at first. I say get your hips all the way through because a lot of times i hit a push and noticed the ball went exactly in the direction was facing, about 2-3 o'clock. If my swing is in-out and I get my hips all the way through, I never push or slice the ball.
  21. I've been Playing Golf for: 3 months (end of last summer, this summer) My current handicap index or average score is: 88-97 on par 72 My typical ball flight is: with longer clubs (driver/woods,3-5i), straight-hook, sometimes push a little. short irons usually straight, sometimes push The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: very inconsistent with driver/long irons. will add other videos later to address short clubs Videos: Hit a lot of straight-hooks today. And oddly a lot of drives that seemed to have topspin - started off like low line drives and quickly dived down. If I remember right, the last ball I hit in this video was the only good drive in the vid. Also have noticed my follow-through kind of looks weird, if there's something wrong/any tips about that let me know. Thanks!
  22. my opinion on the whole thing.. lance armstrong has been tested through blood and urine samples more than anyone and he's never failed a test. does that mean he didn't dope? no.. but why implement testing if you can pass all of them and still get ****ed. every elite cyclist dopes, they go after the champ because nobody cares if the guy that gets 3rd in the tour de france one year is doping, but if the same guy were to win he'd get busted as well. to be a competitive cyclist at that level you have to dope.
  23. ive played for about 6 weeks and the first 4 weeks or so i hit a lot of fat/thin shots but now unless i lose concentration and rush a shot i make good contact every swing, i just need to hit straight instead of hooking my irons.. i hate when my approach shot lands 10 yards left of the green when i know it could've been right there lol.
  24. hey man, ive been playing golf 3-4 weeks as well. my biggest problem is i slice about half my drives and hook about half my irons. your swing looks pretty solid from what i can see here, but im not an expert so i'll leave it to the experts to give you some tips to tweak your swing. i can't see your swing path, like if you're coming across the ball and what not, from this camera angle. just wondering though, what are you hitting into in this video? i want a way to practice in my backyard like that
  25. im by no means a low handicapper, i just started golfing a month ago shooting over 110 on 18 but now ive been shooting consistently 88-92 on my hometown par 72 course. all i think about during my swinging is keeping my head in the same place because every time i move my head i hit it fat/thin. a month ago i was trying to fill my head with all these mechanical thoughts and i played horrible. i reach a lot of gir's just very prone to 3 putting :/
