  2. Portland, OR has a couple of great munis: Eastmoreland, an H. Chandler Egan design. Old style Parkland course. Hosted the Publinx back in 1990. Heron Lakes is a 36 hole RTJ II layout. Very different 18s.
  3. Just got back from my second trip to Bandon. My favorite is still the original. Loved Old Mac and it goes to #2 followed by Trails and then Pacific. I know Pacific is many people's favorite but it just doesn't fit my eye (and game). The preserve is a kick. Our group has already book edits 2013 trip.
  4. I love my Wilson Staff FG Tours. A great value compared to Mizuno & Titleist.
  5. I had an L5-S1 micro-discectomy 5 weeks ago. Played my first round today since. A bit shaky with the short game but otherwise pretty happy with an 87. Kept the swing smooth and easy.
  6. You can't go wrong with any of the courses. First time through I would choose Bandon. Its right there at the lodge and has a great feel about it.
  7. I like ASU Karsten. Close to downtown and a fun course. Remember to ask if the course has completed its overseeding. You don't want to play if they haven't.
  8. Brand New. Never been hit. I won it in a contest (really). I can send you the link to the list of winners. C'mon someone make me an offer!
  9. Son is on to yet another driver. He needs to sell this one! Good condition. Buyer pays shipping.
  10. My Son is selling his 2009 Callaway X-forged Irons. 3-PW w/ PX 5.5 Flighted Shafts. Probably a 7.5/10. Grips need to be replaced. Still a very desirable iron. Buyer pays shipping.
  11. I'd add Sunridge Canyon. Nice track. Consider Stonecreek and Arrowhead Ranch too. I always try to fit in a round at Karsten when I am in Phoenix.
  12. Well shorty I hope you're eating a little humble, pie after last week's "no sympathies" post. The kid's a gamer and a class act!
  13. I play the FG Tour with the PX 5.5 shafts. I hit a low ball and this combination gave me the best and most consistent ball flight. My son plays MP-57s with PX 6.0 and our ball flights are pretty similar.
  14. Yawn. What Rickie, or any other tour pro, plays has no influence on my equipment purchasing decisions. I agree that puma has benefitted from his contract. My kid thinks his stuff is sick. I am obviously the wrong demographic. 50+
  15. 82 today. Pretty happy since its only my second round after a 6 week layoff due to back issues. Temp was a balmy 46. But it was dry!
  16. I don't know if you can find anything like the sun mountain stand bag, but I would check with these guys. Their stuff looks pretty nice! www.themackenziegolfbagcompany.com/
  17. I have been getting the GGP for about a year. The writing is good and the price is right.
  18. Those TF balls were most likely "Restricted Flight" balls specifically made for smaller spaces.
  19. Hunter Ranch is a good test of golf. The winds pick up in the afternoon so play earlier, Chalk Mountain is so-so. Morro Bay is a good option.
  20. I think Ping still offers free fittings at its factory on N 7th. My son and I did it a few years ago. You can't buy there, but if Ping is on your list its a great experience. Check their website.
  21. Many good options for golf in the area. You will need to rent a car. To the South towards Tacoma I can recommend: Chambers Bay - figure $200 The Home Course - more like $60 Washington National - $100 I'd also recommend taking the ferry to Bremerton and playing either Gold Mountain - Olympic Course ($50) or Trophy Lake in Port Orchard ($90) I am not as familiar with courses North or East but I have heard good things about Newcastle - Coal Creek
  22. No Erik. Slow players are S-L-O-W! Juniors are J-U-N-I-O-R-S that learn slow play from adults and the Tour Players they watch on TV. Most Juniors at my club play quickly and complain about the old farts plumb-bobbing every putt.
  23. I just ordered the FGs. We had a demo day at our club a few weeks ago and I fell in love with them. Great feel, great ball flight. I found the DG shafts weren't right for me. Tried the KBS and the PX and for my game the PX 5.5 delivered the best and most consistent ball flight even on less than perfect swings. I think these will be about 1/2 club longer than my Titleist 804s. Remember the FGs have traditional lofts and are not pumped up. The PW is 47 degrees. Take the time and get fit! I would not have bought the FGs with the DG shafts. I also tried and liked the Cobra S3 Pro and the TM Tour Preferred CB. Good luck in your game.
  24. HMMMM. I have always thought the front 9 was much tougher than the back 9. Sometimes they play the nines reversed. Question. How did you do on the ethics section of the Bar exam?
