  1. Yes and no. I hit my forged 8 iron(KZG ZO) 155 yards. I hit my cavity back "GI" 9 iron(Cleveland CG16) 150-155. Now, one would say that it is obvious the cavity back is longer. Hold on. They are the same loft. The only reason people think cavity backs are longer is because they don't know what loft of club they are hitting. As I get more used to the cavity backs I will post about the "difference". If anything it might be the other way around.
  2. How do you ban a club that has been in use for 30 years? Why do you? "Anchored"? I see nothing that anchors the club to the body more than any other club. There is nothing other than the hands that holds the club. There is no anchoring mechanism. Do you also ban the short putter because some guys "anchor" the shaft to their forearm? I don't use one nor doubt I ever would. I've tried it and it feels very awkward to me. How it "cures the yips" is beyond me. You still have to hit the ball.
  3. Watched the Seniors practice round before a major. It was exactly as you described. That is exactly what I thought I'd see. I cracked a joke toward Gil Morgan about a mutual friend and he laughed and came over said hi to me. Very relaxed environment. BTW, what is Gil doing now? Gonna check the interwebs to see.
  4. I think subconsciously there is something to it. I've never seen Tiger buddy up to someone like this. There has to be a little something there. But on the course I doubt any of these guys are intimidated by anyone.
  5. 1) Tiger. That has to be obvious. 2) Ex in law of mine, Garrett Willis. Even his brother won't caddy for him. Hope he's changed.
  6. Love 'em. Hot and humid here. I have the gray one pictured above.
  7. Garmin Approach 1. Pretty awesome. My buddy doesn't pull his laser rangefinder out any more..lol. Used Swing by Swing before also. Pretty good.
  8. Always talking loud. Always cussing. Always cheating.
  9. Manufactured in Tampa.
  10. Vokey. Demo one, borrow one. Just hit one and you will know.
  11. Next time I head to the Little Red to wrestle with trout I'll stop in. Thanks!!
  12. Wow! My paltry 6'1" frame is tiny in comparison. Even though I am that tall I have 32" inseam and long arms. If measured I'd bet I'd need shorter than stock shafts.
  13. Odd: " facsimiles of golf balls or actual golf balls incorporated into the head". Odyssey 2-ball putter? They even call it "2-ball". If those white circles aren't facsimiles of balls, what are they?
  14. Just because he's an old codger doesn't mean he DOESN'T know what he's talking about.. A putter you putt well with is a good putter. Just bought my first new one in 12 years. But I bet he's bought 6 drivers in the past 5 years...
  15. Fast. Can't stand slow greens.
  16. Got an SM 46* oil can and liked it so much I ordered the 52*. Will a 56* high bounce be next?
  17. Yeah a shaft that is too whippy will cause and exaggerated draw, or slice. One that is too stiff will do the opposite. Gotta find the right combo.
  18. I play everything "down". If I hit out of bounds not knowing there was out of bounds and it's a busy day on the course and not a competitive round I will drop and play it as a lateral instead of trudging back to the tee and disrupting the play on the course.. That is about the only rule I knowingly will break. Well, except for the 2 balls off the first tee if I haven't warmed up.
  19. I liked them because they were easy to find and lasted a good while. I hate digging around for tees. NEVER used them for irons though.
  20. Is that that Hammer wedge? I can only imagine trying to clean it on a wet day.
  21. My 9* G5 went high. My 9* R11s goes low. Shaft is everything. Thankfully the R is adjustable. Hit it and see what happens. May be just fine. But $38? Don't lose any sleep.
  22. Might just try one although you know my initial thoughts(errrr). I never cared for the 2-ball putter(strike 2) but may try the sabre tooth or another. But I'll keep an open mind......I promise...fingers aren't crossed or anything...
  23. A bit dry to say the least. I know it is what it is and you probably had to write it that way. I'm a Doctor and I purposely do not read abstracts because of that. How about a rewrite in everyday language. I can understand what you wrote but.......whew! Sometimes trying to sound important and scientific leaves a lot on the table. Again I know you had to put it in that form for whatever you wrote it for but, wow. The average person cannot read such and even edumacated idiots like me get lost in the details. But, good work!!
  24. Sounds to me like you shot better because you were forced to concentrate. You didn't lose concentration, you found it. Thank them :) And I don't know about shooting 125 and calling others bad golfers...lol.
  25. Funny you should mention this. I watched a story about the pro football player that played pro baseball, then became a college quarterback, then joined the golf team, then was drafted first round of the NFL draft. My wife asked, how can he play golf that well. My answer. He played baseball. He understands a swing and moreover understands the effects of spin on the ball. Being an ex baseball pitcher gives me an understanding of spin on a ball. I know instinctively what causes a ball to go what direction and why. That helps me shape ball fight and fix my swing. I glanced at your work but I didn't see any mention of side spin on the ball. Did I miss something?
