  1. I still cant hit my damn lob wedge consitantley. Thats why I put the trusty ol' 56 back in the bag.
  2. I think its a bit much for people to be saying that iron covers are to much of a hassle. It takes an extra second to pull the cover and stick it in your pocket. As for placing it back on the iron, I do that while I am walking to my next shot. I always carry the club that I hit with me so I can clean out the grooves, then I stick it back in and pull the next club. I also dont understand why people would be fumbling with the covers and struggling to find the right club as most covers have number tags on the outside. It really isnt as big of a hassle as some have made it out to be. I dont enjoy the clanking sound of my irons when I walk so that was the main reason I purchased them, and the added protection is just a bonus.
  3. Excellent explanation. I was having trouble thinking of a way to explain to him so that he could better understand the difference.
  4. Dont get BURIED. Dont get yourself in so deep that you feel you have to make incredible things happen to pull yourself back out of it. If you card a bad score for a hole, completley forget about it. Take time out on the next tee to breathe and start fresh. You can only beat yourself up. Its easy to say, but fundaMENTAL golf. Stick with the basics and dont make things to complicated for yourself. I feel like Bagger Vance a lil' telling you these things. Dont put alot of pressure on yourself because if you do you will only come away from the "experience" dis-heartend. All the advice I gave you, I never followed. Which is why I quit playing golf after Highschool. I put way to much pressure on myself and I kept finding myself getting extremley frustrated during matches and started having panic attacks. I wish I didnt take the time off, but its probably the best thing I ever did. Play for fun, its a game for heavens sakes.
  5. All of his "mainstream" music is weak now. I still bump to the underground mixtapes though. Those are some of the best raps thats out there now. I wish he would release one of those for the masses.
  6. I honestly wonder if you are a real golfer. Have you ever been on the course or the range for that matter and someone yells in the middle of your backswing. Do you know what happens? You flinch, not all the time, but enough to where you throw the club off of its intended path. Golf is a concentration sport, where basketball and football you could be playing loud music through speakers and every person in the crowd can be yelling and it wont matter. If you dont think this is true and golfers are still lil' princesses, let your friends yell in the middle of every swing you take and see if you get used to it. I guarentee you wont.
  7. Favorite sport to play: Golf. So frustrating, yet so rewarding. Noone to blame but yourself if things go wrong. Favorite sport to watch: Football ( North American Style, Baby! ) Both Pro and College. Cant beat the atmosphere of college and you cant beat the pure awesomeness of Prof. GO BADGERS AND PACKERS!!! Rodgers is going to get it done this year. Superbowl or Bus... Well not bust, but Superbowl or Wait till' next year. WOO HOOOO!!!
  8. 47PW, 52GW and 60LW for myself. Thinking of putting my 56 back in the bag though. My new 60 has been acting up on me. Classic operator at fault though.
  9. Does that mean you wont be making any of the cuts on tour. If I am wrong the golf channel televises first and second round coverage. Aim higher young one. Say CBS or NBC. Come on now. With all seriousness, Best of luck to you. I honestly hope you do make it.
  10. Seeing as how golf is a game that is played between the ears aswell as on the course I dont see anything wrong with a spectator yelling something that encourages the golfer, or wishes generally good things for him, as long as its after the swing. I remember a few years back when DL III was playing a tournament, cant remember the name of it though, and he was playing with Tiger. After Tiger hit a great drive down the fairway Davis Love stepped up to the tee and hit an errant shot into the gallery or woods, or something of that nature. Someone in the crowd, a moron, said " No LOVE, for Davis today. " Davis Love proceeded (spelling ) to get the guy escorted off of the Course Grounds. So with that said, I do believe that golfers dont mind specators in the crowd yelling "certain" things during a round. In fact, I think many of them enjoy it.
  11. What would you rather have them yell. "Get close to the green." "Beautiful Drive, you really smoked that fairway." "Fantastic Chip, you really almost got it in that time." If you dont like it, do you know what you can do? Press the mute button. Seems like the players could care less about "these" fans aswell. I believe they are worried more about idiotic photographers taking pictures in their backswings. Maybe you can start a committee somewhere to regulate the type of people that can spectate at games, tournys, etc.
  12. Bought one about two months ago, and from my experience I didnt like it. SC Circa 62' #3, giving it to my older brother for his birthday present. Not that my other option is any cheaper, but I think its all personal preference really. If you can deal with dropping that kind of dough for a putter you really wont be disappointed. Great putter, just not my style.
  13. Man, I guess growing up in the age of Napster I didnt make my first "legal" purchase till about last year. I want to say it was :: The Game :: Doctors Advocate Into any kind of music though, latest purchase was Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet For My Valentine.
  14. Soccer might be the most popular sport in the world, but it will never take in the U.S. Beckam (spelling) was supposed to be the savior, but the only thing Americans cared about was, what him and his wife were doing at the night clubs with Tom Cruise and his prisoner.. I mean wife Katie Holmes. Never watched or played soccer, had friends that played and they loved it. I guess since I was a football player we have that generalization against soccer players.
  15. Pinseeker Secretley wants Dents AIM SN so he can talk to him in person instead of bumping this meaningless thread every ten seconds.
  16. He expects perfection out of himself at all times, and from what I have seen he is among the most professional while he is out on the course. If you had the pressure that Tiger has on him while he is out during a round you would crumble under it. So for him to just curse under his breath and move on, I think is pretty damn good.
  17. Please people get it right, SKYNYRD not SkynArd. Favorite Classic and Southern Rock Songs - The Outlaws - Green Grass and High Tides Freeborn Man Ghost Riders in the Sky Lynyrd SKYNYRD - All of them basically, but the ones I cant live without Freebird Simpleman Tuesdays Gone Ballad of Curtis Lowe Gimme Back My Bullets The Allman Brothers - Midnight Rider Jessica Whipping Post Rambling Man Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath War Pigs Sweet Leaf Electric Funeral Honestly there are way to many to name. Bands that are listened to frequently, and I do mean frequently. The Beatles :: The Who :: Led Zeppelin :: Rolling Stones :: The Doors :: The Eagles :: Moody Blues :: Cream :: ZZ Top :: Jimi Hendrix :: Blue Oyster Cult :: Queen :: CCR :: Steve Miller Band :: Steppenwolf :: Doobie Brothers :: Chicago :: Rush :: Grand Funk Railroad :: I think it would be quicker to say the whole Genre is pretty much covered by myself. I am a fan of all music and at the age of 18 there will hopefully be alot more to experience.
  18. I am sorry, but Rory is a complete and utter jerk. In a tournament in 2005, cant remember the name, Rory played with Crane ( a noted slow player ). Ill never forget this. After the two were placed on the clock for a few holes they were taken off of the clock on the 17th and this happend after it. Rory hit his approach into the water on the 17th walked to the drop zone which is almost directly behind the flag all before Crane has yet to hit his approach. Crane hits his approach and when the ball stopped moving Rory dropped, hit his shot, marked his ball, picked up the mark, putted out and went to the 18th tee box before Crane finished out. Crane had enough decency to shake the mans hand after the round, but I wish he would have punched him right in the jaw. Ill never forget how he was booed by the fans after his walk up the the 18th green and after he finished putting and rightfully so. Ive never liked him since then and never will. The guy is an absolute joke and an embarrasment.
  19. This is probably the third or fourth time that you have made something in a joking manner that I have taken literally. With me though, I usually play at higher end courses and all I see is matching sets with 300 dollar staff bags and usually the people can play. Its sad that the game has turned into what you have in the bag rather than what you can do on the course though. For some people its more about appearence then actually playing the game. You need to put a signal in your funny posts. Like end the last sentence you write with a code word. Penguin works for me.
  20. So are you saying people that just start out should be buying bottom line equipment even though they have the funds to buy the best of the best that is out there now. I dont understand where you come from on this one. I am sure if you started out and you had the choice between brand new Nike or Taylormade Irons or the bottom of the line throw away wal-mart clubs, which would you choose? I dont think you should laugh at or look down at anyone for the clubs that they have or the skill level they possess on the course. We all have to start somewhere and if I could afford top of the line equipment when I first started out I sure as hell would have done it.
  21. Yea, its pretty sad when a guy walks out onto the course with almost everything in his bag is from the same company. Wait.... Um.... Its not really sad, but every club I have in my bag is what suited me the best off of the launch monitor. Everything was purchased within two weeks of the past item, because of all the time I spent hitting other clubs. The only club that I have not checked is my Driver, because I used to use the original quad and love the smaller, well smaller in this day and age, 425cc clubhead. I might be a walking advertisment for Taylormade out on the course, but for me the equipment works and thats all that matters. With that said, I wouldnt hesitate to change to another manufacturers club if it suited me better. If its whats best for you who cares man. Everyone wants to get better out there, and sacrificing playability for looks is just stupid.
  22. I choose 3. - Adidas 360 LTDs - Black - Adidas Powerband Sport - Black and Deep Red - Footjoy Mens Classics Tour - Black/Black I tend to wear the Powerbands the most often now. Absolutley love all 3 pairs though. Comfort and Looks, jeez, I sound like a salesman now. I need to stop spending so much freaking money on golf. There needs to be and addiction hot-line for golfer spending.
  23. Seeing how often you play I think you made the right judgement in getting "player" irons. The options are limitless, well not really, but it really is what fits your game the best. Options that I went through before choosing the r7 TPs. NIke CCi Irons Callaway X20 Tour Irons Mizuno MP 60 Forged Irons Mizuno MP 32 Cut Muscle Irons TM rac MB TP Forged Irons The last ones I hit were the r7 TPs. These to me felt the best and the launch monitor seemed to agree with me so thats the decesion I made. So many options to choose from. I say just go to a local pro shop or a Golfsmith type of place and swing away. What works for someone might not be the best for another. Best of luck to you. Most frustrating decesion in golf is which Irons to get.
  24. Why would they need a hammer when they already have a nail gun that can do that.
  25. Well, I hope your shindig was tonight because thats when the fight was. Pretty typical to what I expected. Got the rounds wrong, but TKO by the way of Ref Stoppage for GSP. Class on both parts after the fight, but that all changes 2 weeks down the road when the excuses come out on the end of the loser. Serra should drop back down and fight in the lightweight class where he fought before. He seemed exremely over matched in the second bout. St. Pierre's power was to much for him to overcome and he won the fight fairly easily. Good Fight Night. Not the best I have seen, but better than most. Cant wait for next months fights. Penn vs. Sherk is going to be a war.
