  1. They had photos of him playing from a bunker and it seemed like a conventional swing.
  2. I didn't read anything other than this post and the title, but 42.5 degree loft and generates a lot of club head speed would be enough information for me. I've played some pretty old equipment in my day and don't ever recall hitting a 42.5 degree 8-iron let alone a 7-iron, but I've only been playing for about 30 years so I'll give you that one.
  3. Wow that sounds like a tough course. Can't say I've ever played a course with more than 2 or three blind shots and those are typically off the tee. If the opponents don't mind riding in the same cart for a couple minutes I can't see how this could possibly slow down a group. Different strokes.
  4. I'd say the advance over the Wilson irons is timing, tuning the sound, and providing a more user friendly leading edge. Take any irons from the 1970s or 1980s, grind down the leading edge, put on fresh grips, and they'd be completely playable. With the smaller head sizes they'd all be players irons though.
  5. Of course there's a solutioni. I just provided it. Consider it a 2-for-1 solution. It also speeds up play.
  6. Surprised he hasn't switched to playing left handed yet.
  7. A player should be able to adust their stroke. How do you take shots around the green? How do you play in the wind?
  8. Why not play your rounds alternate shot - a fourball - and have the not hitting partners go on ahead to act as forecaddies.
  9. Fewer carts, smaller groups and picking up are all factors. Speaking just of carts though, I treat fast cart players like shooting a round under my index in competition. It's rare. Not the norm. the odds around here of finding a quick player who carts paired with another one on a day where they have somewhere to go is like shooting a net 65 under pressure. It's possible but not likely.
  10. Maybe I should hold my applause for the B330 until I try the new version.
  11. I said he might not benefit. Maybe he will but maybe for every great shot he'll duff two more. Not everyone has hours and hours to devote to practice (like you did with your putting as a kid - another thread - just sayin').
  12. Ever hit the B330 or the S? Staightest tee shots I've ever hit and consistent distance. Good in the wind as well. Bit higher compression than the RX though. Very similar to the V1x.
  13. If the teaser for next week is accurate he's on the verge of scooping or double hitting the ball every time.
  14. I have a couple (okay - I have 3 60s and a 58 with different sets) and they're all different. They all take time to get used to. Some days I carry a 60 but not always. Occasionally I want to lighten the bag or add a 2-iron. The scores tend to be about the same either way. For someone to tell another player they'll absolutely benefit from having one in the bag is a bit presumptuous.
  15. No, which hole was that on?
  16. Sure wouldn't have to worry about those "debates" in shared rough areas over who was hitting whose ball.
  17. They're going with X now. Z is over. RaXeR Tour for mid to high handicappers RaXeR BlaydX for beginners RaXeR HeadX for Women RaXeR X Proto for low cappers and people with high aspirations RaXeR X Proto Tour Only for Quiros and Mickelson
  18. Wouldn't a very weak grip (grip strength as opposed to hand position) make it hard to keep the face on target at impact for off-centre hits- even a little bit?!?
  19. If you've had two different club fittings why are you asking people here what shaft you need? Was the discrepancy (9mph) an issue or the price? Maybe you do swing 125mph, but you're swinging at 100 percent effort with poor mechanics, other than club head speed. I see that from guys on the range (and occasionally on the course) every week and never thought it would be 125mph. I guess I was wrong. For argument's sake would you consider any of the swings in the videos you posted "comfortable" swings? Why get fitted for swinging as hard as you possibly can?
  20. I certainly misunderstand my knowlege on ball flight. On the course an open face compared to swing path rarely if ever produces a beautiful draw.
  21. So if someone saying they high jumped over 7 feet posted a video that looks more like a jump at about 6 feet I can't comment on it because I think even 6 feet is beyond my ability? When I hit a driver the ball travels a long way. I honestly don't know what my swing speed is but I do know how far the ball travels in real life. One thing I don't do (or at least I haven't yet) is post retail outlet data as my average clubhead speed. Unless I really do carry a 2-hybrid 315 yards on average?!?
  22. Thanks for allowing a Canadian to have #99!! Tough to find an image not seen a million times though.
  23. I think the irons are not attractive but I like the loft gaps. I'd love an 18 degree longest iron then ending at 40, 45, 50, 55, 60 regardless what numbers or letters are stamped on the bottom.
