  1. It looks like our drive is just under two hours? We are planning to stop and eat so if there is a time and place let me know we will be there?
  2. If you don't want to spend a lot but want a nice set why not get used? RD has a really nice selection at the Santa Ana store for the women used club area..
  3. I think the question is what am I not working on? Been in a slump for about 2 months now, it seems my swing hit a wall. What a jacked up road to get so I am even in the 90's again.
  4. Thanks T, and the group, as always both Justin and myself appreciate it.
  5. Yep second set cant seem to get away from them, they play so damn good. Have a great week see you Sat.
  6. Blues are fine, if my game is on it is on, if not it will be a long day. Also Justin has a party he is going to that night "some girl invited him" I am sure we will finish in time but just in case we run out at the end you all will know. After all girls do trump golf at his age.
  7. Not sure if this was in any of all this but my son sent it to me. He seems to think you should always give someone the benefit of the doubt. That you cant believe what you read on the internet. I don't think anyone will ever know the truth unless the PGA or DJ come clean....'no pun intended'. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/02/sports/golf/also-missing-explanation-for-an-absence-.html?_r=1
  8. I just picked up G30's last night that i had ordered, had a chance to try them a few weeks ago and just could not pass them up. Not a big Ping fan never have been but they just seem to fit me. Justin after 3 trips to RD and had his pick of what ever irons he wanted decided on Cobra Bio Cells. So we had him fit they put him in stiff shaft, so he really likes them but getting used to that shaft. He seems to be hitting these crazy far when he gets behind it. Any one that says shafts don't make a difference can't be right, his shots are so much better, he is able to square the head much better. But they are forcing him to really learn his shots and not swing 100% all the time.
  9. Sorry guys for the late response. I guess at this point put both Justin and myself at 18. Hard to tell both of us have new clubs and I don't want to sand bag our team or the group. Thanks
  10. That is such a cool find.
  11. If all this is true, what a douche bag, he lives in a world most of us only dream of and he throws it all away for what, drugs and a piece of a??. Caught up with using drugs is bad enough but also cant keeps his hands off his fellow players wife's when there is a sea of woman out there. Give me a break, all he had to say was NO!
  12. For the most part we play from the whites. There are times we will play the tips or blue but we try hard to play it forward unless the course is open. I have heard and not sure if this is true, that the blues are set up for a person with a handicap 10 and lower? But what ever the case we have fun from the whites.
  13. JMO but it seems the players with a higher handicap just feel more comfortable looking down at wedges that look and feel like the rest of the set. You can't really open them up, you play more straight shots with them so for the person starting out nothing wrong with that. I have always played the wedges that were part of the set I had in my bag, up until a few months ago. I now play SM5 wedges, they have more options with my shots, as well as more options in the offerings that are available that fit my swing better, but they do play different. I hope at some point I will get a complete fitting with say Edel? But for now I am happy learning with what I have.
  14. 23 years ago when my wife and I moved to LA and worked at the same company it was expected we learn to play. So we played every weekend and went to the range a couple times a week, we sucked but had fun. We did not know any one in LA so it was away to meet people. Couple years later we had our first child, my wife quit and I slowly stopped, playing to about once a month until my son was born. 12 years in girl scouts, 10 in boy scouts there was never time. Until my son said two years ago he wanted to make the HS team. We have played ever since, every weekend at the least once, lessons and the range a couple times a week. The best part is me and my son have a real bond because of this game and no matter or where he is we always will.
  15. He plays by himself all the time when Justin and I cant go so I am sure he would not mind. He can hack with the best of us!
  16. Man you have to feel for the guy, it must be very difficult to be such an icon in the sports world end up like this. His ego must be shot.
  17. Guys if you want to open to another guest, I am sure my father in law would love to come? He is not on TST so not sure how you all feel about this, but to make up a full four some, if it really matters i am sure he would like to attend.
  18. I have been ready this from the start LOL, I do have a question golfbarefoot I see you re a (Titleist Tech Rep) is that correct?
  19. No vote, I don't shop at either one. I went to both GS's in my area neither one had anyone that wanted to help and when I did bring up a fitting they did not seem to care one way or the other. I even had one guy tell me, I will fit you right now no charge just buy the clubs and suggested I only really look at TM (they were the best) no real need to look at others but could try as many as I wanted just to compare, but he was going to fit me for TM. Not saying there are not some good fitters at the other stores, I am sure there are just not in my area. I only go to RD and only see a couple of the guys there, Lihu meet one of them and seemed to really like the guy?
  20. Good to see you around Mr D always like reading your post!
  21. I have a friend that has 2 dz putters min and the one he carries is an old Ping that makes that funny ping sound when you hit it. I understand it is a very hard to find putter and looks like it has been in a war. He play for the collage and Jr PGA but that is the putter that works for him. Good luck what ever you decide don't let your self get caught up in having to have a Scotty or any club. Get what works for you, the object is to score low and have fun.
  22. I had the same grip on my Scotty's but have keep the stock grip on my Ping. Never found a reason to change it and when I need to re-grip will put another stock Ping on it. It just works!
  23. Only you can really tell if a Scotty is for you and if you want to spend the money on it. They are very nice! I had a half dozen and none ever felt the same on the green as they did in the store. It was more about owning one or two or three of them. I play a Ping now and would not trade it for anything we had a great thing going. Mr D and many on here play Edel due to how they are fit for that person. I would have gone to them next if my Ping was just not so great!
