  1. I shot a 97 today. First time ever under 100. Man it feels good to actually hit more than one good shot in a round. I had five one putts from as far away as 12 feet. Also hit some great approach shots from about 100 yrds out. The only thing I wasn't happy with was my driving, still slicing almost every drive. Mike
  2. I played at the North River Club in Beaufort NC a few weeks ago. It is by far the nicest course I've ever played. It only opened about 7 months ago, so it's not as nice as it will be. I cannot wait to go back. Mike
  3. That's what I was going to say. Mike
  4. I didn't see the game but that's what I read. Goaltending kept them in the game without a doubt. Mike
  5. How about them Flyers? They took a 2-1 lead in the series tonight with a 3-2 win over Montreal. Go Flyers!!!! Mike
  6. I shot a 102 at my home course this morning. This is a new pb for me. Hit some really good shots with my irons but I'm still slicing on almost every tee shot. Today was also the best weather I've played in this year, 75 with light winds. Mike
  7. Well it's official, the Flyers are going to Montreal in the second round. GO FLYERS!!!!! Mike
  8. I just had to go look, I couldn't remember. I know it's in the low 50's. Turns out it's 54, I think I shot 4 pars, 4 eagles and all the rest birdies. That's on TW '08 too, but I don't remember which course. Mike
  9. I use Scorecard and Digital Divot. Interesting that they keep a slightly different handicap for me. Mike
  10. Woo hoo!!!!! Go Flyers!!! Now up 2-1 on the Caps. Mike

    Walking or riding

I just played a new course in Beaufort NC that has a cart only rule. I thought it was a shame. I would like to walk a round or two there. Well, now that I think about it, it was a pretty big course spread out on something like 650 acres. Maybe walking that course might not be good idea. Now I was just thinking, What do you think is too long of course to walk? The one I played today is 7200 yrds from the tips(I played from the white tees-6350yrds). Plus eventually there will be 1500 or so homes spread out around the course. It's a big place, at least to me. Mike
  12. Shot a 118 today. Not a bad score for me. It was a course that I've never played before. Also, the nicest course I've ever played. I'm really pretty happy with my game today. Mike
  13. I voted yes but only if she would give me some pointers on my game. Mike
  14. I know that I'm not the best at golf, but I realized the other day that I seem to play better when I walk as opposed to riding in a cart. I think it gives me more time to concentrate on my next shot. When I ride, I feel like I'm rushed. And it gets even worse when I play with my friends. Does this make any sense or am I imagining it. Mike
  15. Anything I can find when I'm hungry. Yesterday was a large Papa Johns pizza with three glasses of water. Who knows what I'll find today. Mike PS; Yes I had the whole pizza
  16. I know it's a long shot but I really would love to see the Flyers win it all Mike

    Got HDTV?

    I voted no mostly because I don't even own a t.v. Mike
  18. The reason for my high handicap is that I'm new to golf. I started playing in early '07 but didn't really start taking is seriously until January of this year. I've already had one lesson this year and I will be taking more as my game progresses. The part of my game that needs the most work is being able to consistently make good contact with the ball. I just had my lesson last weekend and I can see this getting better already. I don't necessarily have a practice schedule right now. When I go to the range, I'm working on the fundamentals of my swing just as my instructor wants me to. And no, I cannot tell the difference between any two balls. The only thing I know for sure is don't use a ball that's been run over by a lawn mower. It will not go straight no matter how straight you hit it. Mike
  19. I voted once a week, but I go more often than that. Being the high handicapper that I am, I am almost always working on some part of my game. Mike
  20. With my 34 handicap, I'd say anything in the low 100's for me would be awesome. I've been averaging around 115 with a high of 128 since I started keeping track of my handicap. Mike
  21. I shot a 112 today and 108 yesterday. After todays round, I made an appointment to take lessons starting next Sunday. Looking forward to that. Mike
  22. I know I play better by myself. My concentration is much better and I'm more relaxed. Plus I don't have to deal with all the distractions of playing with my friends. Don't get me wrong, I love playing with my friends but if I'm working on some part of my game, I play by myself. Mike
  23. Just finished a round today. Didn't do as well as I did on Saturday. Shot a 124. I felt good about this round just before I teed-off. When I shot a 9 on the first hole, I knew I wasn't going to have a good day. Mike
  24. I've done it on the tee-box a couple of times in the past month. Yes, it is very embarrassing. Mike
  25. Played 36 today. Shot a 110 in the morning by myself. Then shot a 105 this afternoon as part of a foursome. Probably play another round tomorrow though it's supposed to be much cooler here tomorrow. Mike
