Midwest public courses with on-site lodging
castlerockmo replied to Mikeup's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
I live in Branson, as of right now 2 of our best clouded are closed. Branson creek ( 1public in the state) and murder rock #3 in the state, were bought by Johnny Morris owner of bass pro shops. Hid top of the rock could and branson creek are to be reopened in the spring. I think hes trying to do something with the courses and his big cedar lodge resort. But we also have the #2 and #4 ranked courses in the state here. Among 3 other good ones. -
Who is the most famous person you've golfed with?

I played with Tim Clark when I was 15 in a pro-am event when he was on the Nike tour. -
If you could have any pro's swing, whose would it be?
castlerockmo replied to tmac20's topic in Tour Talk
I have always liked Payne Stewart's swing. Seemed very smooth and easy. -
My best friend works at the coke office. I would like to over and play a few.

Taylormade Lethal vs Pro v1x
castlerockmo replied to mokoCGC's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I havnt played the 1x. The lethal is a good ball. It seems to come off my clubface hot! Its a good feeling ball around the greens. I seem to hit it better than other balls. I don't much care for the price tag, all in all a grest ball. -
Love KC!!! Go Royals!!!!

My first came when I was about 15. I dont remember how long it was. That course closed about 6 years ago. But I hit driver, 7 wood. And made my putt. I had another one on Wednesday. 285 yard par 4 put my driver ten feet from the cup and made my put for a 2.

Branson Creek in Branson mo. A fazio design thats very challenging. Very tight, if you miss the fairway you could easily be in a valley a 100 feet below. Always in good shape. Bermuda rough, bent greens, and zoysia fairways. Golf digest rated it the #1 public in Missouri and #60 in the nation. Payne Stewart golf club in Branson mo. Another very tough course. Bobby clampet design, very tall rough. Fescue rough along with zoysia fairway and bent greens. Golfweek has Payne as 1 in Missouri. Both courses are managed by Troon.

Branson Creek. Its about 6 miles from Branson mo. Fazio design, managed by Troon. The course is always in great shape. Beautiful scenery of the Ozark Mountains. Its the #1 public course in the state and #60 in the country by golf digest. There is a gentleman that lives at pebble that flies in 4 times a year just to play Branson Creek. Now North of town is the Payne Stewart golf club. Another awesome course managed by Troon. Its about 10 years newer. Each hole has a tid bit about paynes life. They also designed it around some of Paynes most memorable shots. Very fun course, neat to see the Payne memorabilia in the club house. Golfweek rated Payne as the #1 public in the state. Both great courses. Out of the ones I have played on those are my favorite. Murder Rock in Branson is another Troon course thats very nice.

I drove down there bc ozarks tour dont kick off till next month. They had a good turn out o believe its their 2nd year. Course wasn't the greatest, like a cheap muni. They had just aerated the fringe and fairways. It was tough to play some shots. I played absolutely terrible, first time I played a competitive round since high school 9 years ago. Had a blast. I thought their director did a great job.

You play on the Arkansas tour? I came to degray Saturday.

I remember about 9 years ago having mine removed. I was 18. They put Me to sleep and cut all 4 out. I was fine til the Anaesthesia wore off about 10 that night. I woke up on my parents couch cused my mom out, grabbed some pain killers and went back to bed. I was back at work at 4am the next morning mowing greens. I did get dry socket in one, that sucked. I got bad teeth that winter I had an infected tooth that one hurt. Woke up one morning after getting about an hour of sleep, looked in the mirror to see my left cheek swollen. Looked like I stuffed a softball in there, no joke. For three days, everywhere I went people people looked at me like i was Frankenstein!!

What ball(s) is in your bag?
castlerockmo replied to CentralFC's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Been playing the taylormade tp5 just picked up the lethal. -
I hit one in a cage today. Along with the 913d2 and d3 and a RBZ stage 2 all seemed close to me. They got a demo days coming up I will play some more with them. But out of them seemed I hit the R1 the best.

CASTING: Extremely run-down driving ranges
castlerockmo replied to GDRCasting's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
There is one I sometimes use when I have to. The one i use to visit closed. So been forced to use this one. Its ran out of a house, the mats are wore out siting on brick pavers that have washed out. Put your ball down and it rolls all over the place. The putting green is Astor turf laid on the ground. The grass tees are clumpy and and unlevel. The sand bunker is a pile a sand. The balls are awful some are ladies balls some have no dimples!! Sad its the only range in Branson!!!! Freaking sucks! -
I put one in my driver. I'm looking to take it out I'm really not impressed with it. I lost some distance. I talked to a few people that put it in their drivers and they said they same thing. I didn't listen and did it anyways. They say you can feel the weight (104g) I call BS! You can feel it is heavy. That said some guys like it, I just found it did nothing for me.

I think VCU will be a good one to follow! Along with gonzaga
