Well, after one race, is it safe to assume that the real race will be for 2nd thru 5th places? It looks like Ferrari was able to stay with Checho.

Unfortunately, the group I play with usually are "fast" players. We are also low handicaps. We all hate slow play but the posted time to play our home club is four hours so normally we play in around four hours. If we have a wide-open course in front of us, we can play in 3 hours (and that is walking). Some of the other courses we play, we can get around a little bit quicker (3:30-3:45) because the tees are close to greens, and they are not quite as challenging which I think speeds up the other groups because they are spending less time looking for lost golf balls etc. All that being said, you can pretty much throw all that out the window this time of year. The snowbirds just wreck everything. 🤐

I'm not sure about this (newer fan of F1), but with the Lewis move and it not happening until next year, it seems like everyone has decided they are not going to catch Red bull this year so let's get ready for next season?

One of the best moves our clubs have ever made was to space out tee times to 10 minutes. One of the worst moves is sticking the pins in really ridiculous pin positions that will slow play with all the three putts. For some reason one of the games likes the pins put in tough positions in order to limit the amount of birdies. For the life of me, I can't figure out why?

I would be curious to see or hear some sort of "projection" for the golf business for the next couple of years. I think that would be an interesting read. I have heard from "them" that our club(s) are already making plans for a downturn in the business. I wonder how accurate that prediction is?

So, me and some of the boys are watching the PGA Championship on Sunday after our round of golf. Kept hearing announcers and commercials etc. talking about making golf more accessible. I personally am not seeing it. Prices have increased (at least in my area) as far as green fees, memberships, equipment, apparel and so on. There are more people playing (again this I'm basing on my area) so I suppose it has become more accessible in that regard, but it looks to me (and the boys) that it's actually turning back into a "rich mans" sport a little bit. I'm not rich but I love it, so I budget for it. So do the boys (although some of them do better than others). We had an interesting conversation about this. I suppose golf can cost you as much or as not as much as you want it to. It seems like even the used golf equipment has gone up with the inflation. If it stays this way, more and more people are going to get priced out of the game.

If Max can start 9th and take the lead before lap 25....this season is over. Go HAAS!

There is no question that rates in the Tampa Bay area have increased. I would say they have increased past inflation levels. I am assuming this is a sort of "strike while the iron is hot" thing because the traffic on the golf courses has increased significantly since COVID. As a matter of fact, the private clubs (where I am a member) have done significant upgrades to their courses over the past couple years (new greens, new clubhouses, etc.). They don't seem to be hurting for $. Several of the public courses have also done the same thing. I can particularly notice the difference in the summer green fees. You could literally find tee times in the summer for 10-15 bucks before COVID, since then they have gone to the 25–30-dollar range.

Yeah, I like Red Bull too (I drive a Honda 🤣). I have adopted Haas this year a little more. Gives me something else to root for in the middle of the pack.

Yes, it looks like that's what I am going to do. Either keep it or trade it after I buy it. Still not looking forward to it. Plus, I have to do it soon.

I have to do something with my car. I have a leased Honda with only 14500 miles on it after three years. So, I will have some equity. I don't really want to buy it but I'm not sure I'll have any other options with price of a new car/lease etc. I absolutely hate dealing with the purchase of a car. Nothing more time consuming than that. No matter what deal I get, I feel like I got screwed.

I agree with you. I have played numerous amateur and professional tournaments in my lifetime, and I can't think of one time where Lift, clean and place was extended beyond the fairways. I would have to assume that it's done that way in areas around the country that I'm not familiar with. In defense of her caddie, I agree with his statement about no one saying anything on the first tee. Especially in a tournament of this magnitude.

Got another $10.00 reward from golf store and got some Maxfli Trifli golf balls. I usually play the AVX but these are actually pretty close to the AVX. Not bad balls for a low price (I think they were 2 dozen for $45.00?).

I have seen this happen a few times. I always assumed that they just didn't have anyone to work that early in the season (this happened in Michigan).

Hopefully it doesn't take away the "back 9 charges" on Sunday. I think that's what's always made the Marsters the most fun to watch. Someone could always shoot a 30 on the back and come from behind and win. I'll be curious to see 13 next week. I couldn't appreciate the 11th hole until I saw it in person (when they moved that tee back).

I've played Angel Park and Reflection Bay. Both were fun. Angel Park was less $.

It will be interesting to see if Ashton Martin can keep it going or will Mercades/Ferrari get it figured out. I thought maybe Ferrari would take another step forward this year, but it doesn't look like they have figured it out. Seems like Mercades is even admitting they are falling behind?
