I lived above her in college at UCF in Orlando. Not even kidding. Very nice then as well........

I think part of the problem here is your approach. There are more important things in the golf swing than taking a divot. A divot is something that happens when you stay down through the shot. I am never standing over the ball thinking...."I am really going to take a big divot this time....". Go to a pro event and watch them on the range. You won't see dirt and grass flying all over like you do at your local muni on Saturday morning. A divot should be shallow and not deep. I hit off a mat in my garage in the evenings and don't have any issue making the transition to the course on the weekend. Focus on tempo and your contact. Let the divots happen on their own.........

iPhone!!!!! Just got one on Saturday and love it. Was forced in to doing so because my older phone broke, but no regrets on the purchase. Very easy to use and very capable. I opted for the older 3G version which has 8G. At $99 now it cannot be beat. 8G is plenty for me as I rotate music in and out all the time. The iPhone is definitely better than any other windows based PDA that I've tried........

I seriously doubt that Glover was embarrassed or felt silly to be accepting the trophy in front of people who are multiple major winners. I can also guarantee you that he didn't feel as though he was in front of people who are much better golfers than he is. No one would make it very long on tour if they walked around in awe of their peers...........

WOW.... 6 and 7 irons flying 205!!!!!! You should be on tour. Let me guess you probably bomb your driver 340-350 on average as well right???????

IMO, if I were a 33 Hcp I would probably keep my tips on the fundamentals to myself...........

I agree that what Vick did was terrible and should not be taken lightly in any way. However, I do not feel that the NFL should block reinstatement. He has done his time given by our judicial system and thus should be allowed back to work. That being said, what team will set themselves up for a huge PR backlash? That is the real question. Maybe the Cowboys or Raiders, they seem to be VERY forgiving to someone who has a checkered past................

If Phil or Rocco Win, Your Callaway Driver is FREE!
steve8820 replied to Comeback City's topic in Golf Talk
Pretty safe bet for Callaway, IMO. Rocco - Really could lightning strike twice??, not so much. Phil - Lets just hope he makes the cut... -
I would give him 24-48 hrs to respond before moving on. However, I guess that really depends on where you live and how many teaching pros there are in your area. I live in Orlando and there are too many options available for instruction. If I left a message and did not receive a call back that day, I would assume they don't need the business

Actually, just hit both clubs on a launch monitor this past week. I liked the way Tour Burner looked, but I hit the 09 Burner much better. I went with the 09 Burner despite it's ugly graphics on the crown of the club. The current Taylormade deal giving away a free fairway wood with an 09 Burner purchase didn't hurt either..... :)

Exactly, one shirt size larger would not show off his man-tits so clearly in HD

Hmmmm..... You speak of a few ethnic groups in your post. African-Americans, Mexican-Americans, and white-trash. Anyone else catch that?

Haven't tried the Softee mat, but all the reviews seem to be good. I am sure it is much better than a standard driving range mat........
-
From what I've read there is a big different in quality between the higher and lower priced mats. I definitely want something that gives when you strike the ball. Certainly better on your hands, arms, and shoulders. Check out the Softee mat. I saw it on www.tgw.com . It is priced at $149 so quite a bit cheaper than "The Golf Mat". Good reviews as well. Not sure what I am going to go with........

All, I am looking for a decent mat and net setup for my garage. We are expecting our first child next week so my practice/playing time will be extremely limited for the near term. That being said, I still want to be able to work on my swing here and there without leaving the house. I am considering 2 different mats. "The Golf Mat" by National Golf and a mat made by Softee Manufacturing. Both are supposed to be better on the body than standard mats. Anyone used these or have other mats to recommend? As far as the net goes, I am considering the Izzo Big Mouth pop-up net. I need something that folds up easy. Anyone have recommendations here as well? Thanks for your help

No, don't know anyone using the Rapture. However, just noticed that TGW.com is know selling them at $199. Not too bad.......

wow, your attitude sucks. And yes you are correct that a 41 for 9 is not that impressive. Certainly not the body of work that you post on a forum asking people if you can play on Tour. And for you to keep saying that "Dude, I've only been playing a short time" and "I am an athlete", "I had D-III baseball offers, blah blah blah". To bring you down to earth a bit, my senior year of HS (age 18) I benched your deadlift stats for 5 reps, had D-I baseball offers, and had pro tryouts for the Brewers and Phillies. So no, you are not the superior athlete that you think you are. My advice for you is to continue with school and get your degree. Keep practicing golf, but please change your attitude. This attitude will not get you anywhere

Hey guys, I was even today through 6 before the round was done due to weather. I guess that means I am now scratch by this kid's calculations....

Your chances are about as good as anybody looking to make it in to professional sports.......slim to none. You need to go watch a pro event. In particular, watch the guys warming up on the range. TV coverage does not do any justice to how truly good those guys are. Hell, go watch a decent High School event somewhere warm like Florida. A couple years back when I was just getting in to the game I would practice at the city course in Port Orange, FL. The local high school team practiced there. ALL of them, just about EVERY shot....solid, straight, and LONG. I looked up some of their handicaps on GHIN. One was a +3.2, Wesley Graham. I think he was the top ranked US junior coming out a few years back. Another was +1.5. These kids are 15-18 years old......... I am not saying it cannot be done, but it is important to get a reality check. Anyone who takes this game seriously and has went out and had a great day has thought "what if?". The "what if?" is answered the next day when we go out and shoot a 95. :)

It is a comfort thing with me. As soon as I shank one my comfort level drops and I get a little more tense. This tension causes me not to release though the ball. If your path is inside-out and you don't release.......shankarooo!!!! Once it starts it is hard to stop. Same thing happened to me last week at the range after work. Felt a little under the weather, decided to go hit balls anyhow. Didn't really focus on form, keeping my lower half quiet, etc..... Started to shank, shanked again, and so on. Left about 30 balls sitting on the range and went home. Played well 2 days earlier. Played well that weekend.... It is a crazy game.

All, My wife and I are expecting our first child in a couple of weeks. Surely, this is going to cut in to my golf time, practice and playing. My wife has said that we need to keep our hobbies. She enjoys going to gym, quite fanatical about it. Almost as bad as I am with golf.... For those of you with kids, how did your first child affect your ability to get out there and play? I am considering getting a net and mat for the garage so I can still work on things. Putt on my boomerang, etc....... Thanks

ProV1's - Enough Already

...... I said NOT ALL. My intent of the post was not to offend single digit HCs. Trust me, I would love to be part of the club. I've just seen it a lot on here that people take offense to the equipment people choose to play. -

Hmmmm.....your post wasn't mean spirited? "Why the hell does every two bit hack of a golfer with a little money need to play these balls". It just came off a bit arrogant to me, but maybe I'm wrong. It seemed to me that you were painting a picture of some rich guy at the country club with $5000 clubs, proVs , and a 30+ HC. Maybe I read to much in to your post.......... -

I love when I read crap like this. Please inform me why you care what balls people are playing? If someone makes enough money to afford playing premium balls then so be it. I see that you are a "single-digit". You are probably just like many, NOT ALL, "single-digits" that I've come across........You think that you are god's gift to golf, have a crappy job that allows for a lot of golf, little to no savings, etc........ Am I far off here???? Keep up the good work down and keep saving that minimum wage.....maybe one day you can afford non-clone clubs and maybe even some ProVs!!!!!!!!!!!!!
